Man, I need a new PC! Mine isn't good enough to run the new game. I have been an avid player of the game for about 15 years! Is this one any good?

Football Manager hasn't been around 15 years

Championship Manager has, mind.

And yeh FM09 is good. FM10 will be better than FM09 and so on :)

Yeah I know that mate.

The Football Manager series succeeded the old Championship Manager series, just a different name now due to the EIDOS / Sports Interactive split (but you knew that already of course).

I would hate to see how many hours of my life I have wasted on the games! :D

Carnt wait for the new patch, anyone know roughly when this will be out?

Think i'll start in the Premiership with the new patch with either Sunderland, Everton Or Tottenham.

errr wait for the transfer window to close first, and then some.

usually they are out about mid feb. harsh i know, but these things take time, its not just a case of doing all transfers thye have to do tests and all that crap on top of other improvents. should be good though.

for me, i might fancy a wigan game when it comes out.

Wigan's as shout, I might even start with Aston Villa.

My Uefa Cup run has come to an end in spectacular fashion. Managed to get through my tough group pretty easily in the end to set up a tie with Werder Bremen. Drew the first leg 0-0 at home and scraped through 1-1 on away goals with a last minute own goal :D. Next round against Sporting Lisbon, lost 3-0 in first leg at their place and won 5-2 at Fratton Park with a monumental effort, going out 5-5 on away goals rule. Have to say this is the most enjoyable premier league season I've done on FM.

definately, so long as theyve sorted out ashley young and gabby agbonlahor, way too under rated.

No they're just playing too good IRL  FM09 is never wrong!

lol and they need to sort out the stats a bit on lower league players, look at simon hackney, hes got the stats of a prem league player but in real life, hes nuts on a road.

In my game Tom Cleverley has just retired from football at the age of 20 :giggle:

He got released by Utd at the end of the first season then spent a whole season unattached and has decided to give up I guess.

Just thinking Sunderland seem like a good game.

Gordon in goal.

Jones and Cisse upfront. Lethal!

Everton are bloody jinxed.

Once every 3 matches i get a key player out injured. Normally either: Saha, Fellani, Yakubu & Hibbert.

Edit: Now Lescott - Virus 2-4 weeks :@

My squad is wafer thin and i need a prolific forward to put next to Yak who i'll use as a target man.

Finished my first season with Portsmouth in 10th, just one point off 7th so I'm pretty pleased and so are the board of directors. Defoe was brilliant for the main part of the season and just got pipped to the golden boot by Rooney. Vicente who I signed for £4.2m was declared the best signing of the season in the season summary so that was also pleasing. Now eagerly awaiting my next season budget, although to be totally honest I don't really need many players. I've already got Vennegor of Hesselink, Thiago Motta and Rodrigo coming in on free transfers.

I was given £4.5m but have now managed to accumulate £18m through the sales of fringe players.

This is now my first team core squad, as you can see it's pretty small but I can't think of anyone I need.

Can anyone else spot any weaknesses that I might need to spend my money resolving?

I'd probably invest in some full back cover, as well as maybe another versatile midfielder.

Want to play this, but it doesn't run on my computer :(

I'm trying to get John O'Shea but Man Utd are being right stingy arseholes on the price, I'm certainly not paying £13m for him.

I started a new game with Leicester and signed Chris Killen from Celtic he's since been called up to the New Zealand U23 Olympic squad despite being 26 years old.

Olympic U 23 squads are allowed three O 23 players
