shen Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Oh by the way, if none of you have found Ryszard Szul yet you're all fools.Don't think you need the Polish league turned on, though apologies if you do. Basically the best thing I ever signed. Ever. He's not in my game, and I've got large database and at least 10 leagues turned on (not Polish one though) What about Henri Anier?
Ozwin Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 My way of doing team talks is as follows: Rating: 0 - 5.9 - I have faith 6.0 - 6.9 - Ignore 7.0 - 7.9 - Pleased, if they've scored then I'm Delighted with them 8.0+ - Delighted. It's served me well on most games although the same can't be said for this one so far. I've just got one of Man City's Youth Coaches who has 20 for motivating. I'll let him do the team talks for a while and see what happens.
Finnegan Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Don't you ever say nothing? If you said something like "I expect a win" at the start of the match, you often don't need to repeat yourself or say anything else at half time I've never said nothing. I thought this was ill advised . Can give it a go next time. He's not in my game, and I've got large database and at least 10 leagues turned on (not Polish one though)What about Henri Anier? Ah. I'd say, for future games, it's sincerely worth it to turn the Polish league on just for him - he's working for Legia at the start of the game. Insane physio. Will upload this tactic next time I launch the game. It's worrying good.
Fox You Forest Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 Bought Lewandowski in January on my Lens game, Five games no goals.
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 Bought Lewandowski in January on my Lens game, Five games no goals. Your fault, not his. Had him in three games now, goal machine in all. All of my bias aside, though, just look at his stats. Even at the start of the game he's got 15/16 finishing and heading, composure, off the ball, strength, jumping, 14 odd pace, good enough technique and touch. There's nothing not to love. He's also, afaik, about -9 on talent which means he's going to be top international class. I've even seen him become a Wonderkid on my St. Pauli game.

I'm using the same tactics as when i had him at Leicester though and he had no trouble then. He's on the bench for now Monnet-Paquet and Dindane are doing the business.
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 Don't MAKE me post my Lewandowski screenshots. Right, this tactic I was harping on about: WARNING: I found this tactic almost ruined my FM fun a little bit. It worked and almost instantly. I've been having success above and beyond my norm (and I consider myself fairly okay at this game normally) and I almost feel a bit deflated by it. The tactic is orienated around fast passing and counter attacking. It's basically the Arsenal tactic - so it will require a team that can pass the ball. I've tried it out on a number of my saves, including at lower leagues, and as long as your team can out-pass it's opposition then you should generally be okay. You don't NEED to be Brazil to make this work but you do need to pick a team that can play. If you're in lower leagues I recommend dialing down the creative freedom. It favours a faster striker to a target man but either will work. I'm playing it with a Michael Owen type striker and I find myself missing out on a few headed opportunities, but with a Shearer type striker I'd have missed out on some of the one-on-ones. A Lewandowski like all-rounder should work unless you're playing against very fast defences. Give it a go. I currently have Rayo Vallecano 3rd in La Liga with it in my first La Liga season, I was top for a while. Have beaten Real Madrid (1-0) and Atletico (2-0) and the only team to heavily beat me was Valencia and I really ballsed up my team speak in that.
Ozwin Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 I think I'm using that tactic actually, except mine came with an away tactic too. For ages I was blaming my poor away performances on settling in but I don't actually think it works. I just stuck with my Home tactic away from home and have won the last 4 games in a row. Hopefully it stays this way because there's nothing more demoralising than not knowing what to change. Just got Hossein Ghaly on loan too from my parent club Spurs.
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 What formation does it use? It's almost identical to my old formation, only with 2 CMs instead of a DMC. The old one I used that a few of you copied on here was 4 1 1 3 1, I think. Occasionally 4 1 3 2. This is 4 2 3 1. It works home and away as it's a counter attacking formation. I've had fantastic success with it, more than any other.

I dunno you're old one, I don't download tactics normally With Man City I'm going with a technique similar to yours of just aiming to score more than the opposition. It works, when my strikers are firing. Otherwise I create 20 odd chances and score nil <_<
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 This isn't so much about the formation though, but the intsructions are all perfectly balanced. I read a bunch of pointers on balancing the sliders so no too players are ever too far apart and a bit of if X is N then Y is N sort of nerdish stuff. I can't take all the credit, but it works. Trust.
stevie909 Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 Just started a new one (i got the fm bug again after quitting my 5 season afc wimbledon game) with Rochdale. We're languishing in twelth after 10 games, but Malcolm Christie (bargain for 1K if you're managing a lower league team) is banging 'em in.
Samilktray Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 Lost all passion for Man City and managing in the big time. Tips on a new venture anyone...
stevie909 Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 rochdale afc wimbledon southend or kettering some of my best times have been with those clubs
imagine that Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 Right, started one with Wrexham this morning. Going to give Finnegan's tactic a go. I think I need another striker to fit into the formation better, someone who's quick and can finish. Only have very limited funds (less than 10k), so probably looking at a loan. Any ideas?
LeeCovFox Posted 8 February 2009 Posted 8 February 2009 Think I'm going to take Grimsby to the heights of the Premiership. Going to be hard. The key is to be clever with your free transfers and loan signings. I've got Hinckley into League One. Currently playing the 2013/2014 season and we're looking very good for a promotion challenge. Enjoyed beating Forest 3-0 at the City Ground in my last match!
