Fox You Forest Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Does anyone else get a touch frustrated with how much pre match and half time team talks can have?I know they would have an affect, but if you pick the wrong thing, some times after being 1-0 up at HT, you're 3-1 down within 10 mins! Tell me about it, I was 4-0 up at half time the other day and ended up drawing 4-4.

I find them bloody monotonous, just like the post match interviews. I just hire a good assistant manager who's good at motivating and broadly follow his team talk advice
lildave3 Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 My starting XI with Man City in the first season on 08.Lloris Richards Dunne Corluka Elano Makoun G. Fernandes Petrov Van der Vaart Samaras Bojan Benjani - he's on fire You could do with Caicedo (Please don't take him away from me )

That is why you make Al Stewart (Youth Coach from Man City) your Asst. Manager (due to his motivating and man management skills, amongst others) and let him deal with the press and take team talks
CosbehFox Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Started back on the Bochum wagon. I asked for an one-year extension was due given. Had to restructure the squad and team plus tactics. Disappointing 1-0 win loss on opening day. Although I'm pleased with the signing of Kehl.
CosbehFox Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Anyone starting out as Leicester, sign Ben Burgess from Blackpool for £240K - he has scored 11 in his first 7 games for me. I signed him - utter crap.
City Fan Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 I signed him - utter crap. Really Hazz? He now has 13 in 9 games for me and has scored in every game so far. Started back on the Bochum wagon. I asked for an one-year extension was due given. Had to restructure the squad and team plus tactics. Disappointing 1-0 win loss on opening day. Although I'm pleased with the signing of Kehl. How does that work then?
CosbehFox Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Really Hazz? He now has 13 in 9 games for me and has scored in every game so far. Yep, really struggled on it. Scored 1 in 9 and then got injured for 4 months.
Tevez Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Think I'm going to take Grimsby to the heights of the Premiership. Going to be hard.
JoeyB Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Just beat Ath. Madrid 4-0 in the UEFA Cup final. Arteta x 2 Vaughan Arshavin scored my goals With Jagielka & Rodwell being sent off in the last 10 mins. about to finish 3rd in the league, and only brought Arshavin. My defence is mint only conceded 38 goals in 57 games (28 in 37 prem games) Need to find a left winger and and forward tho'
morris1234 Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 god im getting bored of this now sadly. i need a new challenge, i started with qpr but i just think eventually this will become far too easy. might start at fulham...
Finnegan Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Oh by the way, if none of you have found Ryszard Szul yet you're all fools. Don't think you need the Polish league turned on, though apologies if you do. Basically the best thing I ever signed. Ever.

Finnegan Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Arshavin is the way forward. Not on my game, so you do need the Polish league on...... How high detail is your game? I've got Large Database on. Don't think I had the Polish league on the first time I found him but I could be wrong, actually. It's worth turning the top Polish league on just for him. For those who don't know what the fook I'm talking about, he's a physio whose pretty much maxed out with all the applicable skills and mental attributes. He's a fairly famous sports therapist in real life and is just overpowered on the game. Two, three month injuries become 10 day injuries. Two weeks, months? Become days. I've had good physios before but this is ludicrous. In other news I think I just ruined Football Manager for myself. I've got a tactic going that's just... not losing. This might seem an odd thing to get worked up about but it really is just... over the top. Will see how the next 10 games of the season go before reporting back. If I can take Rayo Vallecano points clear by January I'll save the tactics file and upload it.
JoeyB Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Im Bored Of Fm.Im Gonna Go Europe Any Ideas ? Everton or Ajax. Really enjoying my Everton game, and ajax is normally pretty good

Finnegan Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Im Bored Of Fm.Im Gonna Go Europe Any Ideas ? Rayo Vallecano, FC Sankt Pauli, Livorno or AEK Athens \o/ Especially if you're sharp enough to spot the pattern.
Tevez Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Come on! Nearly got Grimsby Promoted! Only 2 more divisions
Aleksz Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Rayo Vallecano, FC Sankt Pauli, Livorno or AEK Athens \o/Especially if you're sharp enough to spot the pattern. They Are All Foreign ?
dandannieldanok Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Finished my second season with Pompey, in a very disappointing 15th position. My FA Cup run to the quarter finals was the only light at the end of the tunnel and that isn't a particularly brilliant achievement. One bit of good news though is that England was given a Uefa Cup slot for fair play and guess which team got the least bookings in the season....
Finnegan Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 You know, being 2 - 0 has to be the single worst position to be in at half time on Football Manager. 90% of my fooked up leads have come from being 2 - 0 and only being able to say the stupidest things at half time "Don't let your performance drop!" when they're all on 6.7 - 7.1 or even worse "Pleased!" Fooking guarantee it'll be 2 - 2 by the 60th minute.
Ozwin Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Just started a new save as Leicester. For some reason I didn't start one as them before so I thought why not. Managed to get Federico Insua from Liverpool on loan which was shocking, he's amazing and pushed Mattock up to left wing. Dyer's not very good tbh. Managed to get Emiliano Alexandre for right back to replace Gilbert who again isn't very good. Also signed some Mexican veteran, he plays right wing and that's about it. I got some frees in but it's going to take time for them all to settle in I'm guessing.

If you said something like "I expect a win" at the start of the match, you often don't need to repeat yourself or say anything else at half time
