morris1234 Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 started at qpr and im surprised at the lack of players that want to come. managed to sign a fair few bargains though. chris mccan 300k robbie blake 550k mikael dorsin 2.1m martin zeman 200k savio nsereko 1.1m andy keogh 1.3m daniel opare 200k davide stanton 3.2m james brown 350k zander diamond 1.2m john-joe o'toole 2.3m something weird happened when i went for routledge though, i originally offered 4 then 5 mill, but still rejected then villa negotiated and asked for 11 plus add ons which would add up to 15 mill. stuff that, negotiated however to pay 5 mill up front then 3 mill after 40 appearances, 1mill after 10 goals and 2 mill if i got promoted. so all together thats around 11 mill, so then villa came back and asked for 4.5 mill and nothing else. WEIRD. he hadnt been transfer listed or moved to the reserves and he wasnt unhappy, anyway ive nearly signed him now. speaking of another wierd thing ive never seen on fm, it just came up one day the briatore had links and was bringing a surprise superstar in on loan. i found this to be juninho pernambucano at lyon and the deal is nearly done get in!

Lovejoy Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 The Westfalenstadion is an awesome ground! Indeed it is , has the world' largest terrace I believe: Hoping to go there soon .
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Just started with Everton. Had a budget of 1M So far signed - Arshavin.
CosbehFox Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 The Westfalenstadion is an awesome ground! We didn't play there. Off to the ramshack and mostly uncovered Stadium Rot Erde holding 25,000. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadion_Rote_Erde Home of Borussia II. 30k capacity - 3k seating, rest of the fans stand around a 400m athletics track. dandannieldanok Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 After a great start with Portsmouth, the wins are beginning to dry up and after about 12 league games I'm midtable and one of the most inconsistent sides in the league. Managed to sell Kranjcar for £20m which I was pretty pleased with and my main big money signings are doing well, Fernandinho (£8m with potential add-ons), Taye Taiwo (£5m with potential add-ons) and Vicente (£4.2m bargain). Just started with Everton.Had a budget of 1M So far signed - Arshavin. I don't know what it is about my management or tactics or whatever, but I've never managed to get Arshavin playing well.
CosbehFox Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 I don't know what it is about my management or tactics or whatever, but I've never managed to get Arshavin playing well. AMC as playmaker - fine with me. Although he's off to Nurnberg on a bosman now!
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 I don't know what it is about my management or tactics or whatever, but I've never managed to get Arshavin playing well. Good to see your going well with pompy if everton dont work out i'll try them. AMC as playmaker - fine with me. Although he's off to Nurnberg on a bosman now! I play with alot of freedom in my squads and i like my wingers to swap so he plays fine for me AMl/R. And like you said AMC playmaker he is good enough. My everton squad: HowardNeville / Jag Yobo Jag/Lescott Lescott/ BainesPienar--------------Fellani -------------- ArtetaCahill ------ ArshavinYak
Finnegan Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. It's happened. I've burnt out. FM 09 has just been shelved. Just installed M:2 Total War. Edit: RE your forward players playing well. I've noticed this a fucking LOT on this version. FM 09 is a lot less generous with it's ratings than previous games, a player is having a good game if he has a high 7 where as 8s are magical and 9s are rare feats saved for career best performances. As a result, the game is also equally harsh on players that have "quiet" games. You'll find your strikers regularly pulling in 5.5 - 6.1 performances if you don't get them involved in the game much. You'll also notice your AMCs become gradually affected by this if you're really getting hammered, too.

My everton squad: HowardNeville / Jag Yobo Jag/Lescott Lescott/ BainesPienar--------------Fellani -------------- ArtetaCahill ------ ArshavinYak Yes Pompey are decent and start with a good squad, but you don't get any transfer budget whatsoever and Sol Campbell is very much the man responsible for a large wage budget that needs trimming. It's a good challenge and I'm enjoying it. That team looks very decent btw.

Need to sell before you can buy
dandannieldanok Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Campbell starts on £85,000 grand a week!
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Campbell starts on £85,000 grand a week! You offer him a new contract on half of that? or did you sell the old fecker
dandannieldanok Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 You offer him a new contract on half of that? or did you sell the old fecker Tried to sell him but no-one wanted him, even when offered at £0. Fortunately he agreed to terminate his contract for no severance pay and is now at Rangers on £6,750 a week.
dandannieldanok Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Having some real contrasts of form and fortune. I only managed one point out of 6 from premier league home games with Wigan and West Brom yet in the UEFA cup group stage I've beaten Ajax 1-0 at home and got a great win 2-0 away at Fiorentina. Also talk of a new consortium taking over, hopefully with a month to go before January, new owners can provide a cash injection.
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 I have no prolific forwards but my defence is solid. all beating that just stuffed QPR 5-0
Aleksz Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 After That Leicester Career I Cant Think Of A New Club To Go With. Done ;- Hinckley - League 1 Leicester - Champions League Help ?
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 After That Leicester Career I Cant Think Of A New Club To Go With.Done ;- Hinckley - League 1 Leicester - Champions League Help ? Everton! 1M to spend. Injury ravished squad and im enjoying it so far
dandannieldanok Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Feckers, the directors have put a transfer embargo on me while takeover discussions are held. <_< After That Leicester Career I Cant Think Of A New Club To Go With.Done ;- Hinckley - League 1 Leicester - Champions League Help ? Portsmouth, no money, astronomical wage budget and a chairman that doesn't want to own the club anymore.
JoeyB Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 This is strange, when ever i have had Tim Cahill before he has always performed well but now he's playing pi$$ poor. Free AMC role no strings think i may have to look at dropping him in at MC.
Aleksz Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Everton It Is. First Job; Bye Bye Andy Van Der Meyde. Edit: BOARD BLOCKED IT
dandannieldanok Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Someone called Tony Henderson has taken over from Alexandre Gaydamak, and he's promising big changes with rumours that I'm going to be replaced by Alan Curbishley.
