Ricey Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 My career with Leicester: 08/09 - Promoted via the Play-offs in League One 09/10 - Promoted via the Play-offs in the Championship 10-11 - Survived relegation on the last day on goals scored 11-12 - Survived relegation on the last day on goal difference Dec 2011 - Despite spending £40m on players in the summer I'm still struggling at the bottom, think it's time for a dramatic resignation stating "I love this club too much blah blah" Then hope for a big club to snap me up.
Ricey Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Any ideas when the update is out??? I would have to kill you.

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I would have to kill you. Thats fine, so any ideas??
Finnegan Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 No.... when another club comes in for them if you offer them a new contract they have two offers on the table and choose where to go. They won't accept yours and then still leave Yes - but I don't know about you, but when a club want my coaches they just keep coming back and coming back and coming back? In fact I've almost never had this not be the case. The second time they'll be on an improved contract, you don't interfere and boom! Compo.
Cobbo Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 God it is making me so mad at the moment - a goal ahead with 5 or so left - make some changes to hold onto it - then it goes to 'making changes' and always, there is highlights showing. Needless to say, before my changes go ahead, the opposition score. It happens so often. Bloody ridiculous.

I've done the same throughout FM as well Although if it's a good coach I try all I can to hold on to him, and sometimes it works. Lovejoy Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 FAO anyone who's bored with FM atm: Have a bash with someone from another country! I've never really been bothered with the French League, but am loving the PSG game .

I've never really been bothered with the French League, but am loving the PSG game . I've been saying for a long time that the French league is fun, especially if you include a lot of leagues and maybe play with a friend. The added competition from leading leagues makes it quite hard to attract good players. Although I obviously wouldn't pick PSG as that's equivalent to taking Arsenal or Liverpool in England

It happens so often. Bloody ridiculous. This is the thing that annoys me the most. If you make changes while attacking, it stops your current attack and makes the changes instantly and you lose that attack. If you're in a "defensive" (not even a dangerous one, if you've got a goal kick or something) situation it'll play it out before it stops to make the change and will seem to go on and on and on. Numerous times I've gone to set it to time-wasting in the 80th minute only to have them score while it's waiting to "Make Changes." Wouldn't annoy me QUITE so much if it didn't instantly stop any promising attack I have if I go to make a substitution. :\

Although I obviously wouldn't pick PSG as that's equivalent to taking Arsenal or Liverpool in England I dunno about that, they only just avoided the drop last season. Landreau, Armand, Makalele, Chantome and some defender who's name I've forgotten are all good, with Guily and Rothen who've peaked but aren't terrible, Sakho for the future, and Luyindula who's slightly better than average. Otherwise the side's a pile of horse **** .

Still young too, So hopefully lots of improving to be done. 3 points clear at the top after 10 games and not spent a bean. See where i am in January before i spend the transfer budget only have two strikers though.

Otherwise the side's a pile of horse **** . They've got a huge stadium (= large wage budget and potentially transfer budget too) and one of the best defenses in the league. And they're the defending cup champions, hence in Europe. To top that, they have a decent reputation. But good luck anyway Europe especially should be a tough challenge as the French League suffers from not being able to attain a reputation of the big leagues Get this guy he's doing the business for me, In Ligue 2 mind. Finnegan Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Henri Saivet and Monnet-Paquet were fantastic in 07 along with Nicolas Millan. I personally found them to not be good enough on this one, though. They start off too old, I guess, to really give them a proper run out for a good side. Loving Coutinho, though.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Struggling badly with pompey in the second season, I simply keep losing games by the odd goal. After 27 games I'm in 15th position and if Preston, Bristol City and Middlesborough weren't so terrible I'd be in a relegation battle for sure. I'm still in the FA cup at the 6th round so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel. Although I've just been offered the Ghana job and I'm seriously considering taking it! EDIT: Didn't realise I could stay in the portsmouth job even if I took it, I've accepted the offer.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Man City have just offered me Niko Kranjcar for £7.4m, after I sold him to them the previous summer for £20m!
potter3 Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Argh how can I get rid of Hamann, £30k/week and he's useless. CAn't sell him for £0 can terminate his contract, can't even fine him
City Fan Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Anyone starting out as Leicester, sign Ben Burgess from Blackpool for £240K - he has scored 11 in his first 7 games for me.
potter3 Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 My starting XI with Man City in the first season on 08. Lloris Richards Dunne Corluka Elano Makoun G. Fernandes Petrov Van der Vaart Samaras Bojan Benjani - he's on fire
Cobbo Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Does anyone else get a touch frustrated with how much pre match and half time team talks can have? I know they would have an affect, but if you pick the wrong thing, some times after being 1-0 up at HT, you're 3-1 down within 10 mins!
