BoneHead. Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Starting a new Leicester season my last one went all dodgey. Keep you posted.

Finnegan Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 You done any nice skins this time around, Ricey?
morris1234 Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Completed my first season last night and what a season it was.I went on a 20 game unbeaten run at the end of the season on my way to clinching the BSP title. Now for a crack at League 2. Finances are really bad, I keep getting linked with a load of jobs in League's 1 & 2, Just lost my star man Hadji for 8 months (now he is retiring) But it is all part of the challenge, even Luton stayed up on my game. Starting from the bottom is much better. sir, i applaud you! i also agree its better to start at the bottom! i started with struggling aldershot (big challenge ), yet to play first game of the season. can you recommend any players for me? i dont have dosh left, bt just plaers i can look at maybe in jan. i havbe a few in mind form ireland, i currently have 3 players on trial aswell, alan kearney, joe gatting and chris fagan. i managed to bring in, on a budget of 15k, these players. james chester (loan) man u clayton mcdonald (loan) man city johnny hayes (loan) leicester leon mcsweeney (9k) stockport ryan beswick (2k) leicester and released three players aswell. reckon im going to try and be really hard to beat at the back. im thinking a 5-3-2 counter attacking side... cmon the mighty shots!
Brainy Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 I'm still playing 08 but I won't bother bringing up the old thread. I started off my career at Bury about 2 months ago, I was there for three and a bit years. In that time I got them promoted as Champions of League 2, and then survived in League One after looking dead and buried at Christmas. I resigned at the start of the fourth season after a poor start, I wanted a change. I stayed out of management for the season and applied for the job at Walsall who were a mid-table League Two side, predicted 2nd. I had the chance to make signings, but we started the season off dreadfully, I lasted about three months and resigned. Christmas that season I was offered the job at Barnet in League One. I managed to keep them up. I started the next season off strongly but completely fell towards the end of the season, finishing 17th, and losing the JPT Final on pens to Donny. I made some impressive signings in the summer, only to be told my contract wasn't going to be extended. One day later I got offered the job at Millwall, who were a strong League One side. I got them promoted in my first season on goal difference following a last day win against 2nd place Carlisle. The next season I comfortably finished mid-table before pushing on for promotion the next season. It was a tense last day but I got promoted automatically. I had players like Gabby Agbonlahor, Harry Forrester, Michael Turner, Henri Lansbury, Lee Martin, before adding to the squad with a few foriegners. With 6/7 games left I was attracting interest from Wigan in Everton (both strong mid-table sides). I was 18th with Millwall and lost the League Cup final but Leicester sacked their manager, and I was the favourite to take over. They offered me a job a few days later, and I couldn't really refuse They're rock bottom though. 7 pts off safety with 5 games to go.
Lovejoy Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Gabriel Agbonlahor is the most underrated FM player in recent seasons. He's been dog on them, and still isn't fantastic this season .
Lovejoy Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Night on the town appears off, so a session of FM is on the cards .
morris1234 Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Night on the town appears off, so a session of FM is on the cards . 'what you accidently tripped over a pile of books that were placed in a strange place where anybody could trip over them?' ' what youve hurt your leg my friend?' ' shame, cant g out tonight, i guess ill have to get on fm 09 again' ' god i was looking forward to going out, shame' was that how it went lovejoy..................../
BoneHead. Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 Opted against city and went for Newcastle. Being taken over with the promise of £154 million on players cant wait.

Frigging knackered tbh.
Ricey Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 You done any nice skins this time around, Ricey? Nope, won't do either as I now work for SI so any skinning I do at the moment is for Football Manager Live
morris1234 Posted 29 November 2008 Posted 29 November 2008 lost my first game 2-1 at home to barnet. i won most headers and tackles but just couldnt pass for shite. i equalised through morgan who hit the bar later on. the game is harder and more realistic tactic wise which is great. it was my fault for the loss i think, i noticed we werent passing it well so i brought on a fresh centre mid, made him the playmaker, i also slowed the tempo slightly and shortened the passes. i then equalised and was starting to kick some arse. i then , on 70 mins, decided i wanted to storm it and changed to a chelsea style 451/433. didnt work, counter attack with too much space behind midfield, switched it to the winger and crossed it in early to their sriker who already had one! gutted! bristol city away in the cup next! AND, ive just looked at my next 6 games are bradford, gillingham, shrewsbury, dag & red, chesterfield and darlington. 5 of those are tipped at least play offs! god help me!
lildave3 Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 Tried installing on my laptop, it's painfully slow  I'm guessing an 'L' and some lines in the bottom right corner means loading?
Ricey Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 How can you improve squad harmony? Try and get rid of any unhappy players or try and solve any problems they have. Not having too many nationalities helps as well.
Anorak Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 That error came up when the servers were too busy. It's all fixed now though. I've got it going now. I can't get the 3D match view though Do i need to download something or what?
Maybes Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 Try and get rid of any unhappy players or try and solve any problems they have. Not having too many nationalities helps as well. Ah right. Im am Leeds boss, doing well in the league but i would say 1/3 of the players arn't happy. Rather annoying. Alan Sheehan is one of them
Darkzzz_ Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 sir, i applaud you! i also agree its better to start at the bottom! I am enjoying it even more now. After winning the conference, I am now top of league 2 after 16 games. I must admit I have really learnt to deploy certain tactics in certain situations and it is really paying off, you really do have to get it right, it is so in depth. I have been touted for a few jobs, I don't want to leave Rushden yet, I have no money, I have signed all of the players I have got on free transfers. I have really developed my youth squad and signed some excellent youngsters, mostly Spanish, . The players I signed in my first season to help me win the Conference are: Mustapha Hadji (Free, Absolute magic at this level) Stewart Fleetwood (on loan from Charlton, recommended player at this level) Carl Ikeme (On loan from Wolves then made permanent) Phillip Lowry (Turns in to a decent player) Kurt Robinson (On loan from Ipswich) Pluchino Galuppo (Class, absolute class at Conference and League 2 level) Lewis Gobern (Loan from Wolves, Decent) Ruben Zadkovic (Loan from Derby, Good) Marvin Andrews (Free, good CB) Miguel Robosio (My best signing) Juan Jayo ( My second best signing) Paris Simmons (On loan from Derby, Scored a few and worth a shout) I had to cut the wage bill in my second season and the board wanted me to "Enjoy the League 2 experience" I shipped the dead wood out and made room for some absolute steals, all free: Dean Windass David Unsworth Marcus Hall Jean Paul Kalala Martin Garcia (Good Youngster) Darren Powell Eric Odhiambo Liam Dickinson (Loan from Derby, Class) Courtney Harris (Loan from Fulham, Decent) Barry Bannan (Loan from my parent club, Aston Villa) I have also just secured Antoine Sibierski for my january signing, now what a signing that will be, free from Wigan. Back to back promotions here I come, I need some money to work with very soon though If I want to get to the Championship, but first I need to get to League 1......
Lovejoy Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 Right then this is my 1st team squad atm: Got a few good youngsters in as well, and have £35million left in the kitty! Any good recommendations?
Maybes Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 How much did you have to pay for Ramos, Gabby and Ashley?
Fox You Forest Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 I've started one as Man City too made my first signing - Riqulme, His stats are amazing.
Brainy Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 Not having too many nationalities helps as well. Interesting to know. I only had three nationalities in my Millwall squad that won promotion to the Prem.
Lovejoy Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 How much did you have to pay for Ramos, Gabby and Ashley? Ramos was a swap for Toure, Young was £25m + add ons, Agbonlahor was a swap for Bedntner .
