Mikey Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 Start of the season and it has been a very busy summer with 15 people coming and going, both on loan, free transfers and purchases.I was asked where i can finish and i said Mid Table which got me 14.25M to spend, but i think i can finish top half of the table and with some of my signings i should be up their. I have sent Nicolas Millan out on loan so hopefully i he will turn into what i want. i am also still waiting to see if Danny Simpson will come to me on loan to try and improve my RB slot as Zebina isn;t as good as what i thought he would be according to my assistant. . Pele who i signed in his place was a beast and have trained Mattock to play CM if i need him too
Mikey Posted 30 November 2008 Posted 30 November 2008 No he got promoted to the Premiership I was just asking. I got 100k in the Championship, I just thought it was a big step from 100k to £15 million.

Tunchev is going to Bolton for £5m in January, mainly because he is the captain and is mardy because I wouldn't let him leave. Needless to say, my squad harmony isn't great.

It is all about setting up the right training, Getting in good coaches, Playing players to their best attributes. It has all worked for me, Diamonds, 2 seasons complete, BSP winners, League 2 winners. I have spent 6k, signed 18 free players. I love it !!
morris1234 Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 gonna be a long season, lost 3 nilt o bristol city, in the cup, didnt even put up a fight, had 54% of possession but just foo*ing about on the ball,losing it, them counter attacking and scoring. only had 1 shot all game! its more of a chellenge than luton this is (aldershot), you get a budget of 15k, and the smallest wge budget ever! all the loan players i brought in are only being paid about 10-30% by me and still i cant sign any more players because of the wage budget!

Should change your passing instructions of your defence/midfield and maybe bring them closer together
morris1234 Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 Should change your passing instructions of your defence/midfield and maybe bring them closer together yeah im trying, i just played bradford, got absolutely had again, had most of the possesion again, joe gatting knicked a late late late equaliser, so im happy with 1-1! i was down to 10 men aswell, its just going to be one fo those seasons! probably get sacked half way through but im going to try my best!

I signed this 30 year old French striker who had crap stats in everything except a 20 in heading, he was the key to my promotion to the Conference National before I was pached by Crystal Palace. Went on to save them from Championship relegation and turn them into Champions League and Premiership winners in the space of a few seasons by signing Eastern European youth. God I loved that particular game.

City Fan Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 After promotion in the first season, I started off the Championship season and was in 4th place after about 10 games. Now we are approaching christmas and I have dropped to 18th. Having about 20 different nationalities probably doesn't help. I've got Jerzy Dudek and Julio Cruz coming in January though so hopefully they will help me push up to midtable.
morris1234 Posted 1 December 2008 Posted 1 December 2008 get in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was moaning about the hard start to the league i had with all these top teams. bradford away 1-1! good point! was down to 10 men. gillingham away 0-0! good point again. played well shreswbury home 4-3! went 4-1 up, quie tense towards the end with them pulling back goals. all 3 of their goals were sloppy defending! and mcsweeney and chalmers both scored 35 yard screamers! amazing goals! 2-1 up at half time! brought on beswick for his first start, bang 25 yard free kick top corner. then marvyn morgan with a storming header at the far post! i played 3-5-2 (my own version obviously) still need to make changes as my midfield fell asleep at times! macclesfield next at home! 10th after 4 games. conceded more than i would have liked but 6 for 6 against not bad!

Good times. Lower league FM is where it's at after you get bored after about 3 seasons of Leicester.

God I loved that particular game. I did a similar trick with Carlisle back in the days of CM. Sign players with probably one extraordinary ability in one skill. It's how I search hidden gems now. Once found a lad from Kaiser Chiefs in Sith Ifrica....he had 20 pace and 18 dribbling...4 finishing. He used to run the ball into the net. Quality watching on 2D.

Yep, 2 seasons for me i'm now bored of Leicester, I failed to get promoted to the Prem and made an average start to the third season. Don't fancy floating around mid table in the Championship season after season. I might go for Bradford.
