Unabomber Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 they went up a gear when dickov went off. alb made some good saves to keep it respectable, but it shows how strong they are when they have campbell and fryatt on the bench.i like their attitude. unlike some of the big clubs that have come down, sheff wed, forrest, leeds, they look up for this league. they took tonight seriously, they clearly want to win every game they play. they have a lot of big strong players, they have pace, but as i said most of all they have the right attitude. and fair play to stev ie howard, he is gonna cause defenders at this level nightmares. spoke to a few of their fans on the way out who reckoned thats the worst they have played this season. not many teams come to pools and put the cleaners through them. no real shame in getting beat off that team. the likes of leeds, carlisle, oldham and bristol rovers might give them a game but cant see them dropping many points on tonights showing. Another quote from the Poole fan who was quoted earlier. I would have to say he has a point
sbfox Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Powell was my MOTM - pacy and solid. Powell, pacey? Has the world gone mad?!
Thracian Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Alot of it is about confidence too innit?Lets hope we can bounce back into CChip(i know its early days!) and finally play and compete in that League with some players who think they can actually play with confidence and abit of style. But no team is going to go out confident playing seven and eight defensive players and no creative attackers worthy of the name. Tonight was an example of positive management. Adams was looking "lost" first half according to one poster and that seemed confirmed by the commentary. Pearson didn't take him off. He simply got him to believe more in himself, to get forward, take people on and try to make things happen. Nor was there any suggestion of scoring then holding out. He sent Dyer forward too and then posed Hartlepool more problems with the introduction of the pacey DJ Campbell til, in the end, their defence was unable to contain us. I'm quite sure that will be a major problem for most defences.
bluebeau Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Probably rested I'd have thought I got some saladin tonight, went to Tesco, bought tomatoes, lettuce, cue, beetroot, onions, green, red & yellow peppers, cress, radish, spuds, mushrooms!! Yeh OK I'll say it for you.....PI-S OFF!!!
Corky Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I got some saladin tonight, went to Tesco, bought tomatoes, lettuce, cue, beetroot, onions, green, red & yellow peppers, cress, radish, spuds, mushrooms!! Yeh OK I'll say it for you.....PI-S OFF!!!
dave_1988 Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I didn't go tonight obviously so I can't comment on that, but generally our play has been much more fluent and constructive than in previous years. True - the only other game I've seen us play this season was against Tranmere and we did look more fluent then, so we might have just resorted to being a bit more direct tonight because Hartlepool actually closed us down in midfield.
Saladin Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I got some saladin tonight, went to Tesco, bought tomatoes, lettuce, cue, beetroot, onions, green, red & yellow peppers, cress, radish, spuds, mushrooms!! Yeh OK I'll say it for you.....PI-S OFF!!!

blue blood Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 hartlepool fans think we were a class apart in the second half and also think we will walk this league........Link
lavrentis Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I got some saladin tonight, went to Tesco, bought tomatoes, lettuce, cue, beetroot, onions, green, red & yellow peppers, cress, radish, spuds, mushrooms!! Yeh OK I'll say it for you.....PI-S OFF!!! , do any of you say "salid" instead of salad? Apparently, it's quite common round the Leicestershire area. I don't know though.

It a relief to me that Pearson showed he can change tactics when necessary. He'll need to moe than once before the season is out.
Unabomber Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Just saw the goals, well worked again. Well played lads.
Hullfox Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 I agree with Nationwider. O'Neill had a shaky start but did grow in confidence as the game went on. Gilbert is no more a centre half than Levi Porter. Campbell showed some much better touches when he was onside. Another tidy performance, particularly in the second half. Jeff "The Ref" Winter is going to seed faster than I am. Shame on the groupies - you know exactly who you are. Finally, if you thought that Bernie was strange, you need to see Lawrence.
lavrentis Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Just saw the goals, well worked again. Well played lads. Where did you see the goals please bud?
Guest Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Talk about a game of two halves! We should have been a couple down by half time, yet it seemed like a totally different side on the pitch in the second half. I think we have finally found our level.
Unabomber Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Where did you see the goals please bud? SSN They will probably be repeating them each hour.
lavrentis Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 SSN They will probably be repeating them each hour. Ah ok cheers
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 This is great news to wake up too. Loving this season so far but as a lcfc support i am just expecting the sudden drop of form.
davieG Posted 2 September 2008 Posted 2 September 2008 Adams' & Fryatt's Goals - Unfortunately I missed Howards
Bert Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 From a pool forum"and that boys and girls ( leicester city ) is the standard by which.... all league one clubs will be judged this season. if they dont get automatic promotion this season i will never post on here again. id be amazed if there are 2 better teams than them in this league. once dickov went off they were in a different league to pools. they made collins and nelson look second rate, and that takes some doing at this level. ive already backed them before a ball was kicked to win league one this season and have just done so again. very impressive." Interesting comment regarding dickov Dj did very well when he came on i thought.
syston_fox Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Dj did very well when he came on i thought. When he stayed onside he looked very good and shows he could still do a job for us. Good night out in fairness but am not looking forward to going there in January - will be fooking freezing!!
Bert Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 That it will. Other events from the night - Picture time with Jimmy Bullard and Tommeh's flat tyre on the motorway.
