Thracian Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Adams' & Fryatt's Goals - Unfortunately I missed Howards Makes me wonder if DJ's the bloke who's had a bet with me on here about Fryatt scoring more goals than Dodds.

Bert Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 You had a tidy profit as well until the second stop at the services! I only lost £2.30 there though. still well up on the day tbh. On a side note, am i the only one that thinks Danny Wilson looks like Mike Baldwin?

I'm sure Joe will post it when he gets back .... if he ever does! Fox Travel 1 - 0 Tommeh's car. I only lost £2.30 there though. still well up on the day tbh. Joe. Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 You'll be delighted to know, I'm back. This comes via the help of the Green Flag man who fixed Tommeh's puncture somewhere around Sheffield. Anyway, we've basically somehow won 3-0 tonight despite being totally outplayed in the first half. Second half was much better, but generally because Hartlepool couldn't match their impressive first half performance and they'd ran out of steam. Good night out, good result. Job done.
lildave3 Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 I'll get that picture up soon, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow. He clearly loved it bless him.

Oh... that's put the dampeners on this win a bit... But still, 3-0 is a win and a clean sheet! You can't take that away from the lads!
davieG Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 Pools viewpoint Hartlepool United have been knocked out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy after losing 3-0 to Leicester City. After an even first half the Foxes turned up the heat and proved too strong for Pools. Against a midfield missing 3 regulars Pools were unable to match the physical visitors in the middle and up front they proved too quick for Pools sluggish back line. Former Poolie Steve Howard opened the scoring on 52 minutes after beating a poor Arran Lee-Barret at his near post. Nicky Adams doubled the lead soon after before Matty Fryatt wrapped it up late on. It's a disappointment for Pools but we matched Leicester for large parts and were let down by poor decisions from the officials. From their OS Danny Wilson admitted that the best side won through after seeing Leicester City win 3-0 in the First Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Victoria Park. The Pools boss said his team had done well during the first half but as time went on the visitors had earned their right to a place in Round Two. "The first goal was always going to be important and they got it at a good time from their point of view," Danny told Pools World. "The first half was a cracking game with it flashing from end to end and chances all over the place but we couldn't find that first goal. "You have to say that as the game went on the quality that Leicester has shone through really. "There were positives to take; I thought Matty Robson came in and did very well on the left, knocking some superb balls in to the box. "Perhaps we were a bit unlucky not to go in a goal to the good at the break but overall the best side won the game in the end."
Collymore Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 I was walking past you lot when you were asking him. I thought you thought he looked like Richard Branson

Tommeh Posted 3 September 2008 Posted 3 September 2008 I am well and truely dead. Was late for work by only 30 mins though which wasn't bad considering Great night though, can't remember too much of the game only that we were the worst i've seen under NP 1st half but back to our best 2nd looking like we'd score everything we attacked. Big up to everyone who went, decent atmsophere too considering this competitions meaningless to many.
