Jamie Carragher's book

Recommended Posts

Anyone read the part where his wannabe-gansta mates saw Lucas Neil in Trafford Centre and was ready to nail him, but Carragher ''called it off'' because his friend David Thompson was with Lucas Neill and he didn't want him to witness it.

What an uneducated thick ignorant piece of shit he is. Somebody needs to knock seven shades of shit out this fool.

Fair enough for his honesty, you can't abuse someone for giving their opinion. But he comes across as a twat in my opinion in what he says about England. I hazard a guess that quite a lot of the England players may share Carragher's opinion, but just haven't the bollocks to admit it.

I shan't read his book though.

This puts Jamie Carragher in the exceptional position of having written more books than he's ever read.

A scouse footballer writing a book?

What next?

Anyone who buys this is the sort of person who owns every novelty record ever released and opts to buy a fridge, television, pet or toilet roll on the back of whichever desperate celebrity is seen to be endorsing them.

Absolute pap.

I should write a fu cking book. At least I've got something to say.

Jamie Carragher was messed about with England I bet less then 5 of his caps came in his actual position of CB, for a time he was easily 1 of the best English CB's but people like Ledley King would get picked ahead of him when either Rio of Terry were injured, it's little wonder he retired when he knew he was seen as a utility man rather then a top class Central Defender which he still is, except for Man U and MAYBE Chelsea he would get into any team in the premier league.

His views about the England team are disappointing to hear from a player but understandable, maybe if some of the others had his honesty our national team would be a far better thing

Problem is most players would give their right arm to play for england no matter where they play.

Comes across as a spoilt baby to me.

That was my thinking to be fair.

What makes Carragher a better CB than King or Woodgate ?

What makes Carragher a better CB than King or Woodgate ?

at the time we are talking about Woodgate was never fit and he was a better defender then King, King has the high profile because he's at a London club, had he been at Wigan then he'd be seen as a decent enough defender that's never fit

From the polls we've had on here many fans share his view they would take club success over country so Carragher's no different to many so called English fans.

And if they continue to show the games on Setanta & Sky they'll be even fewer!

What a stupid question.

Carragher is always fit, that alone is why Carragher is better than them pair. Probably the best recovering defender in the League.

I saw a woman in W H Smith buying this today. This and a copy of Hello.

Yes, I imagine she was a plastic, scouser, pikey.

Is he an Everton fan then?

He was as a boy. I don't know how he could play for Liverpool, because presumably he grew up disliking them?

My mate who's a Villa fan plays for Birmingham's academy

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I just can't understand it.

I suppose you would take it if they offered you a chance and your boyhood club didn't. Must be difficult for some though.

I would agree to an extent. I too was devastated after that Euro 96 semi, but as the years have progressed, I have become increasingly disillusioned with the national team. Not just because of it's lack of success either, but because these days the squad is packed with prima donnas who probably wouldn't pull on the shirt if it wasn't for the fact that they are paid to do so. It may always have been this way, it's possible that in the past I was blinded by youthful naivety, but either way, I now put my club firmly before my country. I would much prefer to see City lift the FA Cup than England win the World Cup.

Like we'll ever have the choice?

But at least I'm old enough to have seen England win the World Cup..

Yeh and he's like "At least I didn't miss for Liverpool" n that

Seriously that would make no difference playing for a rivals academy because you just wanna get noticed and start your football career.

If Forest or Derby offered you the chance to play for their academy or sign professional terms I'm sure you'd sign ASAP

Liverpool were the 1's that chose to sign him and have been his life for live 15 years, he is bound to love them now

I can see Gerrard turning his back on England soon aswell.

Yep. Lampard could as well. At the end of the day he's loved by his club, on £130 grand a week, he'll feel he doesn't need the hassle and the jeering.

Not for that reason, Gerrard cant be done with playing out of position so having to do it for England aswell I just cant see him having it, which would be a shame because Lampard and Gerrard are the best centre midfielders in England and probably the best in the world but thats a different debate.

Lampard wont quit the England team because money seems to be a big factor to Frank.

I thought they gave the match fees to charity?

Probably a small percentage, but why should they? If the money is there why not keep all of it, I know I would.

Well on the money they are, you'd struggle to spend most of it yourself.
