Nugent Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Leeds have pleaded guilty to a Football Association charge of using an unlicensed agent and may receive another points deduction in the process. Although the club have stressed that no payment is alleged to have been made to the agent involved, Luton Town were this season docked 10 points by the FA for breaching agent payment regulations. The Leeds charge relates to the transfer of Anthony Elding from Stockport in January 2008. A statement on the club's official website, leedsunited.com, read: "Leeds United can confirm that the club has pleaded guilty to the Football Association charge for using an unlicensed agent in respect of the transfer of Anthony Elding from Stockport County in January 2008. "The club has requested for a personal hearing and no further comment will be made, other than we would like to re-iterate the fact that no payment has been made or is alleged to have been made to the agent involved in respect of the transfer." http://www.leedsunited-mad.co.uk/news/load...W&id=405592
lildave3 Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Doubt they'll get a points deduction. Although it would make life a little easier for us...
dandannieldanok Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Although I don't think points deductions are the correct punishment (even for Leeds), if Luton were docked some for the same offense as this then so should Leeds.
Leicester Lass Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Can't be one rule for one, and another for everyone else. If they're guilty of the same thing as Luton, they deserve the same punishment.
Guest Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 Can't be one rule for one, and another for everyone else. If they're guilty of the same thing as Luton, they deserve the same punishment. Too right. Consistency is the way forward
Matt Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 However a points deduction could work in favour for then...in a way. Leeds' success of doing as well as they did last season is partly down to the point deduction they had and proving people wrong and something to aim for IMO. Still, Point Deduction + Leeds? Yes please.

Can you read? Luton made illegal payments- we have emphasised that we haven't made any payments! Therefore we can't be guilty of the same thing as Luton. Crystal Palace have also been charged on the same issue and Arsenal have recently been fined something like £17,000 for the same offence, I expect a similar fine.

You going round all the different forums protesting your innocence or something?
Alexikokopops Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 The Leeds fan has a point. To the best of our knowledge they haven't committed the same offence as Luton.
Corky Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 No points deductions for me, we'll just hear a load of bleating about how everyone in football hates Leeds (boo hoo) and them printing "real" league tables.

But here's the question? IF Arsenal have been found guilty of the same charge as you and got fined £17,000, could you afford £17,000?! Haha! Or would it leave you fighting against money trouble or/and administration again? Thus getting a points deduction. WE ALL HATE LEEDS (Scum) WE ALL HATE LEEDS (Scum) WE ALL HATE LEEDS (Scum) (Tune of Glory Glory...) WHO THE fook ARE LEEDS UNITED? WHO THE fook ARE LEEDS UNITED?!?
Samilktray Posted 4 September 2008 Posted 4 September 2008 I really don't have a big problem with Leeds these days. I have a friendly rivalry with my mate whos a Leeds fan and thats about it. Something happen in the past with us and Leeds or something?
Thracian Posted 5 September 2008 Posted 5 September 2008 We can finish above Leeds without having a handicap advantage.

Some of them used to foul the air at Filbert Street with disgusting racist chants, and Leeds United did sod all to stop it.

Most definitely They particularly hate Leicester because we pride ourselves on multicuturalality. If we finish above Leeds I'd rather do it without any need for points reductions but if they have done wrong then they need to be punished. To be fair most people hate us because they think we 'got away' with everything during administration - we didn't but it doesn't stop the bitterness does it.

Corky Posted 5 September 2008 Posted 5 September 2008 Leeds Scum! Hang on a minute, they deserve our respect, they are Champions of Europe remember, as they keep singing about. (Not quite sure when this happened though )
