Heskey?

BRUNO BRUNO BRUNO.

That's 3 reasons he won't come back.

Heskey did put a six figure sum into the club to help keep us afloat when we were in admin so he clearly continues to hold the club in high regard.

I for one have got a great deal of admiration for him and would love to see him come home.

I know it's unlikely but look at a potential scenario - Wigan get relegated, we get promoted, Heskey's contract expires, at best there is an offer from a mid table prem club who have every prospect of being in a relegation fight, Milan waves some cash around and we cleary have momentum behind us, Emile wants to finish his career with another crack at the prem with Leicester and family encourage him to move home.... Doesn't sound entirely inconceivable.

No, but if we're in competition with a Premier League club for his services, the chairman will have to dig VERY deep to tempt him back...

no only if it's 1 of the super rich clubs, otherwise I think we could come close enough to their offer that he would be tempted, he's hardly thrown his money away through out his career has he

I doubt he'd rise above the level of Wigan again.

Was this "story" borrowed from football rumours by any chance  ?

Yeah it's just that last week I may have put a cheeky "rumour" on that poor excuse of a website along these lines  .

safe to say i would cream myself if there was even a shred of truth in this,

but as far as i can tell im dry

... yep, me as well mate ... dry as a bone ... I just can't see him coming back to the City even if he does know how much good it could do for the Club considering the England call up, he's duty bound now to stay in the top flight for as long as possible.

Still it was a smashing thought if only for a brief moment ... Heskey back in the foxes blue, a legend returns

Villa and Spurs were after him last week and he'd have gone if Wigan got a replacement (they wanted Mido). So top half prem clubs v League 1 side seems a fairly easy decision when you're an England international still in your 20's.

He went through a few years of drifting but he seems to have come back strongly and so it is difficult to tell when he might be ready to come back to Leicester. You can't take Leicester out of him though and it would be good to see him playing for us again.

His goal scoring record in the past few seasons is disgusting.

Indeed. Why people keep relating to him as a centre-forward I don't know. In club football he's scored roughly once every four games. He takes an enormous a lot of weight off people's shoulders and is often involved in the moves that lead to goals but he 's not showed signs of being a prodigious striker even in his early days:-

1994–2000 Leicester City 154 (39)

2000–2004 Liverpool 150 (39)

2004–2006 Birmingham 68 (14)

He wasn't prolific, but he did his job, and linked up brilliantly, first with Claridge then with Cottee. It would have been interesting to see how he'd have done with Collymore.

He's got 99 Premiership goals, only 12 players have reached the 100 mark.

He's had a good career, but if your going to play him, it has to be with a prolific striker, e.g. Owen.

if and that is a big if ,he ever came back it would be for his last season before ends his career but after soccer aid showing england strikers how its done it could be a few years before heskey hangs his boots up
