Bert Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Safe standing. Blah blah. Some people are so blind to see, that because of Hillsborough, standing will probably never, be allowed back in England again. Forget other country's that do it. You're here, not there.
Zingari Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Oh boo hoo. thank you you've summed up the selfish ego centric attitude in one
Maybes Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 if the police/stewards ejected / arrested a few fans who were making racist remarks , would you criticise them for not doing the impossible task of ejecting /arresting them all Two ends of the spectrum. thank you you've summed up the selfish ego centric attitude in one Fantastic
sbfox Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 if that happens all well and good , but at the moment there aren't any , and i get pissed off with people constantly standing up in front of me constantly harping on about "their fookin right to stand " I'm sorry this is bollocks. In a ground of 32000 odd seats, there are what, 2/3 blocks that stand? If you don't like to stand, you don't book tickets in L and K, its pretty simple. You've got the rest of the ground to choose from, go and sit in the west stand if it bothers you that much. Jesus.... You should know by now what to expect from different parts of the ground. I agree with the general feeling of everyone else, the police were too heavy handed outside and didn't deal IMO (from my view in K) with the Millwall fans whilst taking it out on those in L.

I see no reason why if other countries can make it work we shouldn't.

Daggers Posted 13 September 2008 Author Posted 13 September 2008 thats harsh but if you make a scene then this will happen to you, im not condoning what the police did at all. The majority of fans are well behaved but how do they know that you or your friend that was singing arnt going to cause trouble? i say if you dont want trouble then stay away from it, its not hard to do. No it's not - you are advocating that the police should be allowed to use force in order to suppress any innocent person they see in case that person would otherwise transpire to be a hooligan at a later time, thereby preventing them from doing so. You are proposing that a quasi-fascist state of emergency should accompany football matches like the one today and that all those involved were at fault for being in the wrong place. Which is nothing short of a blissfully stupid proposition.
Bert Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 You have your attitude, I'll have mine. You can be a right mardy tuwaat sometimes. That post doesn't say that I don't want safe standing back, as I'm sure you know by now, I like to stand and sing during games, just that I don't believe no matter what campaigns go on, it won't return.

Why not get up and move? There are enough spare seats at the Walkers.
SamL Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Why not get up and move? There are enough spare seats at the Walkers. Or purchase a ticket near the front?

The Stig Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Or purchase a ticket near the front? Even better.

And I beleive that if the campaign carries on growing, a return could well be on the cards. And yes you're right I can be a mardy twat.

Daggers Posted 13 September 2008 Author Posted 13 September 2008 I'm a "selfish ego centric winkers" and so if a ticket is purchased for seat MM306 I will be standing right in front. And I'm a twat. And a Chav. And (probably) a dickhead too.
SamL Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Safe standing. Blah blah. Some people are so blind to see, that because of Hillsborough, standing will probably never, be allowed back in England again. Forget other country's that do it. You're here, not there. There's slightly more chance of it happening due to the campaigns, than if there were no campaigns at all. Fair enough, it might never happen but it's better to try. If demand gets higher, they'll do something about it eventually (hopefully).

Tommeh Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 not being funny but if you shutup, sit down all game, watch the match the quietly go home, the police will not bother you.If you sing outside the ground it causes trouble(sometimes). The atmosphere was always going to be tense today, leicester and milwall both have a repuation therefore policing should be harsh. Normal fans shouldnt be effected by this but if you act like a cock then your asking for trouble. just my view. What an oscene thing to say, this is football not fcucking church. The day L1 is made to sit is the day i only focus on aways.
Maybes Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 i'm coming to park in front of your drive now its my right and you can't do nowt about it A quick phone call to the police and Im sure they would swiftly move you on, or perhaps tow you away. Daggers may however want to brick you windows as he is a selfish ego centric winker! What an oscene thing to say, this is football not fcucking church. The day L1 is made to sit is the day i only focus on aways. Good call. Poker round mine Tom?

Good call. Poker round mine Tom? he was claiming the other day that he could do nothing about the selfish idiots who block his drive ; thats the point i was trying to make
Fosse Boy Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 get used to it this is what football has become, and no i dont sit and never will either, but we are fighting a losing battle. Which means we should all give up and spectate silently on our arses for ninety minutes? Good logic there...
Maybes Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 he was claiming the other day that he could do nothing about the selfish idiots who block his drive ; thats the point i was trying to make Oh sorry. Didn't see that the other day. My bad.
