blueharmie Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 not being funny but if you shutup, sit down all game, watch the match the quietly go home, the police will not bother you. If you sing outside the ground it causes trouble(sometimes). The atmosphere was always going to be tense today, leicester and milwall both have a repuation therefore policing should be harsh. Normal fans shouldnt be effected by this but if you act like a cock then your asking for trouble. just my view.
Zingari Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Bad example Zingari. What happened to me today (and to be fair it pales in comparison to the shit Daggers saw) just highlights why the current rules are unsustainable. You can't have a situation where hundreds of people in L1 stand all game, where the majority of the away support stand all game, where even the guy next to me stands for most of the game and then have a steward take it upon himself to vocally insist that me, just me, sits down. Absurd. i can only assume that you have been identified as one of the ringleaders that they ( rightly or wrongly )believe should make as an example sorry but this " why's everybody always pickin' on me ? " doesn't wash i repeat, if you break the law, or the rules and regulations set out and you get punished , tough shit

James. I'm just highlighting how unsustainable the current situation is. Safe standing areas benefit EVERYONE - police, stewards and of course the fans. too right, but you don't even need to be this well behaved ; no-one objects to fans rising out of their seats at times , (when the excitement builds) , but the constant refusal by a few fans to get their arses back down so that everyone else can see from the seat that they have paid for justifies a few of them getting ejected lol In the context of my argument can I just say I was on the back row!!

Not being funny either - but if you think that football is about shutting up, sitting down and going home quietly then why don't you just take out a Sky subscription or start a Koi carp collection? "Normal" supporters were put out by the policing - and one off here was treated in a very rough manner before being carted off for doing nothing more than sing. The policing "should be harsh"? Are you tapped or something? There should have been a presence but they should have respected the individuals at the match and accorded them dignity and respect. Your logic is the very same ****ed-up misconception that they were labouring under: that all football supporters are hooligans or potential hooligans...and that is absolute bullshit.

Simi Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 I've always had a view of the police that they will try and initiate trouble to justify there existence. However wrong it might sound, it does happen. You can tell by some of the comments they reel off. Most of them would love a good kicking with some football fans, it would make their weekend and satisfy there egos. The banter with the Millwall fans was half decent, never looked liked kicking off in the ground, out of it is another matter though.

The majority of fans are well behaved but how do they know that you or your friend that was singing arnt going to cause trouble? i say if you dont want trouble then stay away from it, its not hard to do.

Just wait 'til Leeds bring 3000. That's when it'll be real banter and, it may look like kicking off in the ground.
The Stig Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Why do the police film the fans ? - In cae of racist chanting - In case of fights to see who started it etc
blueharmie Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Just wait 'til Leeds bring 3000. That's when it'll be real banter and, it may look like kicking off in the ground. thats going to be interesting!!
Samilktray Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 too right, but you don't even need to be this well behaved ; no-one objects to fans rising out of their seats at times , (when the excitement builds) , but the constant refusal by a few fans to get their arses back down so that everyone else can see from the seat that they have paid for justifies a few of them getting ejected Im not exactly a regular at games, but this post annoyed me. A lot.

SamL Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 i can only assume that you have been identified as one of the ringleaders that they ( rightly or wrongly )believe should make as an example sorry but this " why's everybody always pickin' on me ? " doesn't wash i repeat, if you break the law, or the rules and regulations set out and you get punished , tough shit I was sat 3/4 seats away from James. today and wasn't told to sit down at all. In fact, I stood for the whole game without feeling in danger. If the stewards are going to enforce a rule, they need to enforce it on everyone. I wasn't told to sit down at all today. Why make an example of James? Just because he was told to sit down didn't make me want to sit down. At the Walkers, stewards very rarely walk along each row when there's people on it. Unfortunately for James, he was an easy target because he sat towards the end of the row.
Zingari Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 But a designated section where like-minded fans can stand together is totally out of the question? if that happens all well and good , but at the moment there aren't any , and i get pissed off with people constantly standing up in front of me constantly harping on about "their fookin right to stand "
blueharmie Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 How do they know they are going to cause trouble?? well thats my point they dont know, but id always assume the worst. At the end of the day they are there for the trouble makers so cant be seen as a soft touch, avoid them and they do the same. im not a fan of the police either they are up for it as much as millwall/leicester hooligans.
The Stig Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 But a designated section where like-minded fans can stand together is totally out of the question? Yes Ched it is. Why should common sense come in to the equation? I mean reserving a small section at the back of the Kop where you can stand would SIMPLY NEVER WORK. IMAGINE THE CHAOS IT WOULD CAUSE.
Maybes Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 if that happens all well and good , but at the moment there aren't any , and i get pissed off with people constantly standing up in front of me constantly harping on about "their fookin right to stand " Oh boo hoo.
