lildave3 Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Better than I expected. There was too many 'We Are Millwall's, even if it is a great song. But that bouncing song, and the random shouting sounded excellent.
Lovejoy Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 They were miles better than Franchise and Tranmere imo. Even considering they were bloody quiet for long periods .
hahahahaha Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 was u watching the same game i was watching in the away end im not being funny but i will give an honest opinion of our fans compared to your ends for starterts i think all you could do is hear us signing up until the 45th minute, i think u leicester fans just lost track of time when u went a goal behind and were were quiet i must admit till about the 65th minute and then picked up again. Its not often dont forget millwall get a win at a big club such as yourself showig we hopefully have the players now to finally go up. Second of all if i had a bif fat guy playing drums to try and get the crowd going i wouldnt go to millwall games and plus he got completely abused he actualyl applauded our support after the game you lot can ask him yourself. I feel all home games however didnt have a lot of atmosphere but polcie seemed to be all over the game today and outside. Arrested a couple millwall didnt get to see the leicster fans. Whatever if you lot had an off game today caus il ltake that any day of the week but our striker kandol played immense today and our defense was stronger than ever. Didnt seem like ur players wanted it even with that free kick at the end about 20 minutes over the extra time boundary. getting back onto support after jabba the hut got abused for so long he shut up the leicester fans near him shut up apart from a few gobby ****s as always. I think thats a fair assumption of our supporters away but home support is never good anymore in my opinion unless ur right up in the prem filling up your stadium every week. Looking forward to when you lads come down and youll find your a LOT more segregated your own little path back to the station and everything. I want to add though that your two wingers seememed to be pacy and had a great touch i think it was ur right winger who was better dickov was holding the ball up brilliantly just no one in your midfield today and our strikers were linking up well like i said with our midfielders just running gtheir nuts out and our defence holding solidy. What makes me laugh is how arrogant you lot were before the game and i still think youll go up so dont panic. Millwall fan forever

I thought your fans only really picked up in the last 10 minutes. Jobber always gets abused, he wasn't applauding your fans, just the insults he gets week in week out. On our day, we'll take most teams to bits, and our wingers Gradel (Right winger) and Dyer will show most full-backs up. But you lot had a game-plan stuck to it well, and deserved to win. Zak Whitbread was immense. Away games tend to have more atmosphere, as all your fans are more compact and not spread out over the stadium.
PAULCFC Posted 13 September 2008 Posted 13 September 2008 Had a couple of pints with 3 or 4 Millwall fans before the match.Cockney, but really nice !
Tommeh Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 Average till the last 10 but in the last 10 they were brilliant the shouting thing sounds very intimerdating and all their chants were loud as hell. Bar Leeds probably the best fans we'll see in the league at home.

Bar Leeds probably the best fans we'll see in the league at home. i sit right next to them in N block...they were good at times...but a lot of them seem very angry for no reason..even at the last whistle ...one guy in a brown jumper wanted to take the whole of N block on....they have a rep and i think they just try to live up to it..they played well and put the ball in the net..i agree whitbread played really well . saying that i think they are a loyal bunch of fans and they have pedigree from the past ..but there not like they used to be.
lavrentis Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 To the Millwall fan: Will I get abused for wearing my Leicester scarf over my coat in Millwall?
Corky Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 I thought they were quite good, noisier than MK Dons and Tranmere. The Stockport fans were quite good as well.
Daggers Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 To the Millwall fan: Will I get abused for wearing my Leicester scarf over my coat in Millwall? Seeing as they are all sex-cases I'd try to be covered up as possible - the slightest glint of ankle will send them into rabid pandemonium.
James. Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 To the Millwall fan: Will I get abused for wearing my Leicester scarf over my coat in Millwall? Regardless of the football fans South Bermondsey isn't the nicest area at the best of times. I live a short walk away. Unless you're in a group you're probably better off not showing your colours. That said the police will be all over the return fixture so it'll probably be safer than any other day.

The 'type' of Millwall fan that you would see yesterday would never wear colours, just part of that culture.

I'm not saying there's gonna be gangs of marauding Milwall fans hunting down anyone wearing something remotely blue. I'm just saying if you're wondering round on your own or in a small group looking a bit lost in your brand new Leicester shirt then you make yourself an easy target. It's more about common sense than anything else, it's the same with any dodgy-ish area or situation. EDIT: in any case there's an away-only path leading from South Bermondsey station to the ground. London Bridge station sometimes sees a bit of trouble, other than that you'll be fine.
Daggers Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 Wearing colours may mark you out for a bit of piss-taking by seasoned head-cases but you're more likely to simply be ignored. People who wear scarves or replica kits aren't the people who are looking for or keen to be involved in a fight. Kids on the other hand, just like the three City cretins I had the misfortune to share a rail platform with, will pick a fight with an empty bag if it blew in a funny way. The threat of violence does not dictate what I wear, the weather does.

That wasn't quite the case when I was waiting outside Victoria Station in my Leicester shirt a couple of years ago. Fortunately I walked away into a crowd before it got silly. There's some horrible little people around here (football related and otherwise) and I wouldn't have thought it would take much for them to start picking on younger Leicester fans. As I said it's down to using common sense really.

I know a guy whose one of the main boys in the Birmingham "firm" or whatever these groups call themselves now and they have a really strong moral code about who they target (sounds odd but true). They wont target any females, any youngsters and anyone wearing their teams shirt. I don't know if the same will ring true for all groups but that's how it is in Brum land!

With any proper firm, that is the case. However there are many "firms" below the big boys who do not see it like that.

Simi Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 Walking behind them Millwall blokes wasnt good fun was it Simon n Shaun? Not really no. The roughest bastards I've ever seen at a football match. You could tell one of the lads was top boy. Was trying to pick him out all match but couldn't find him!
Wezleylowski Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 Will never understand people who pick fights with random strangers just for wearing a rival teams shirt. It just seems cowardly to me. Mostly wannabe hooligan 14- 20 year olds who couldn't knock the skin off a rice pud do that kind of thing.
Lovejoy Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 I'll be fine for Millwall away! I have a southern accent !
Floating Fox Posted 14 September 2008 Posted 14 September 2008 To the Millwall fan: Will I get abused for wearing my Leicester scarf over my coat in Millwall? I'll certinaly be wearing mine. Ld3 best wear his shirt as well. You'll hardly see any of their fans anyway, as if your on FT then you'll go straight into the ground, and if your on t'train, you'll go on a walk-way straight to the away end, for away fans only. Can imagine they'll be a few Chavy Knobs in our end for this one. MetPolice will probably kick a few heads in, nasty bunch are they. Going back to the original topic, thought the Millwall fans were quality. Better than most supports from last season too.
