Sly Posted 22 September 2010 Posted 22 September 2010 After a very credible 5th place two seasons ago and even better 4th place last season finishing 1 point behind Magners, we need to avoid defeat in order to guranantee retaining our Premier League status for the 4th season running. Might get lucky as the divisions might go back into one anyway but hopefully we can do it the right way. Been a struggle getting players at times this season, not helped by LD3's aka Ben Staplefords refusal to guest appear for us 3 times this season, what he doesn't know is I still have his trophy from 2008's Division One league title win though . I'm surprised you opted to stay in the Wednesday league and opt out of the Sunday one.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 September 2010 Posted 22 September 2010 I'm surprised you opted to stay in the Wednesday league and opt out of the Sunday one. I still play Sundays ableit in complete and utter vain as it is for Double XL, had a few games for Seal as well although I think they take exception to my getting plastered on Sunday afternoon then playing in the evening . I've got players on a Wednesday and had non on a Sunday, what can I say. It was pointless, no point playing in that league if you don't have a good side as the standard is disgusting, never mind no side as at all which is the case. Although I've got a team on the waiting list for Sunday again now which should challenge in Div 1 if it goes back to two leagues. Thank god,

Thank god, I've no idea what the standard is like outside your Dynamos, Fords, Magners and Aquarius, who are all decent teams. Who else plays for Double XL now? Any of the lads from when I played for them? I may be playing for Dynamo as a GK, I think I past my interview game when we beat Aquarius. I noticed XXL have zero points and are on a minus hundred off G/d!!!!!!

I'm a busy man! I'll take my trophy though, I won it for you that year with my stunning solo goal.
Sly Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 I'm a busy man! I'll take my trophy though, I won it for you that year with my stunning solo goal. How on earth did you lose 9-0 on Sunday!?!?!? Was it as bad as our troucing my Novices the other week?
Tevez Posted 23 September 2010 Author Posted 23 September 2010 I am banned from Leisure Leagues for life. Darn.

Disgustingly good in there mate, Dynamo, Ford, Magners, Aquarius, Average Joe's and DLZ before they pulled out all disgusting and have lads spread across the local non league sides. If you get top half you've done well. below that you've got lads playing in and around the Senior leagues, team in 9th all play for Malborough Rovers on a Saturday they are Div 1 North Leicestershire League ( and 9th out 14, did I say they were 9th?) after which you do get a few beatable teams but they are still the sort of standard that would hold their own in the Premier League in years gone by, finally you have Double XL who are a disgrace . Ricky, Aston, Steg, Kyle, Simon occasionally, Will, Jordan. Myself usually drunk when I can be arsed until the end of the season. I'm a busy man! I'll take my trophy though, I won it for you that year with my stunning solo goal. To be honest I am not sure if it is your's or Andy's I would rather give it to you to be fair. You may have to pick it up when finally making a cameo for us though Edit: 5-4 win last night so survived
lildave3 Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 How on earth did you lose 9-0 on Sunday!?!?!? Was it as bad as our troucing my Novices the other week? Worse. We played 5 a side, one of them kept saying he felt faint and ill and never moved and it was just an all round disaster. We'd all gone out the night before, for some reason it effected us more than them!
Bakey Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Worse. We played 5 a side, one of them kept saying he felt faint and ill and never moved and it was just an all round disaster. We'd all gone out the night before, for some reason it effected us more than them! Because we can handle our drink
lildave3 Posted 23 September 2010 Posted 23 September 2010 Because we can handle our drink Did you find your buttons?
Bakey Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Did you find your buttons? Thats irrelevant..... Won 2-1 against F.C Barnes today, 3rd win in arrow.
Bert Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Beat the main title rivals 2-0, took the piss out of them too really.
Sly Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 And we lost...again...1-0. We won 4-2 and play you next week!
lildave3 Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 We won 4-2 and play you next week! Yup. If there's any upside for us so far this season it's that last time we were in this league we had no points at all by the halfway stage! Can't believe the closest team to us are Barnes though...
Sly Posted 27 September 2010 Posted 27 September 2010 Yup. If there's any upside for us so far this season it's that last time we were in this league we had no points at all by the halfway stage! Can't believe the closest team to us are Barnes though... The league is really open as any team is capable of beating anyone. We got tanked by Novices 7-0, then beat Barnes and Grampus the following two weeks. We're pleased with our first half results as we've struggled to put a team out every week!
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 September 2010 Posted 29 September 2010 Been an emotional week, stayed up, got relegated anyway to balance the leagues out into 6 each, only to be reinstated this morning as it is going back into one league of 12 Leisure Leagues eh. Open tonight against The Spartans who got handed 14-0 the last time they bothred to turn up and play us and haven't done so since
dandannieldanok Posted 1 October 2010 Posted 1 October 2010 Balls, we've been shoved back in the premier league to fill the empty spaces. We'd won 4 out of 4 in the 2nd division and finally began playing well and enjoying ourselves at a lower level. Bad news for us.
Sly Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Ref was shocking in our game against Team with no name.
lildave3 Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Ref was shocking in our game against Team with no name. Thanks for not mentioning the score Seriously though, he is a dreadful ref. Every week he makes bad decisions. The Grampus/Barnes game twice he gave goal kicks when it should have been corners, and they went and scored from one of them! Not iffy ones either, BLATANT saves. Shocking.
Bert Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Don't get me started on refs! The guy we sometimes have is never up with play and it rather annoys me. We never get decisions from him either. Drew 0-0 today. Hard to break down a team that sit 3 men behind the ball about 5 yards from their own area. I heard you lot had dropped out Dan? Not Dream Team, Stanley.
Sly Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 I've no idea what the score was to be honest. The referee just lost control of the game. The win keeps us third and we have the awkward game against Hayden next week. Who sit men behind the ball and are hard to break down. Just chatting to one of the Grampus lads on text and he says the decision was shocking. I missed it as I was getting changed as we were struggling for a side. I didn't exactly move a lot in our game.
Sly Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 Loved the touch line support you had tonight as well.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 At least you lot haven't had the pleasure of the Scarecrow who is now reffing down at Hood Park on Sunday night. Starts games by kicking the ball back to goalkeepers himselft, OHH is eight and a half foot. Never gives FK's. Worse of all he threatned to give a penalty against me if another shot him me while I was on the bench. 90mph and 10 yards mate, I do not have the reactions of a cat.
