Sly Posted 12 December 2010 Posted 12 December 2010 Bakey ... fancy a cameo in nets for Cadiz tonight?!? Anyone fancy a cameo outfield?! We have Grampus at 19:30 and currently have 4 players. They have 5.

Sly Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 I know why I don't play in goals on astroturf now. Getting shots rifled at me by sweet as a nut and diving around isn't exactly sensible! Wet + sand + astroturf = friction burns as well as being wet. To top it of we were pants and lost.

Wet + sand + astroturf = friction burns as well as being wet. To top it of we were pants and lost. We are doing jaw droppingly well on Sunday night and the usual 5th/4th place in the prem on Wednesday. Would like a dabble down Whitwick but can't be bothered to travel! Started playing for Lungy's leftovers when it didn't clash with Ashby but they dropped out.
StanSP Posted 24 February 2011 Posted 24 February 2011 There's a national tournament at Goals in Leicester in April (17th I think). Or sometime in that week. Recently joined a team in Welingborough who are gonna be taking part and was wondering if anyone on here was involved?
Jamesbcd Posted 23 April 2011 Posted 23 April 2011 How did the goals tourney go? Our season just finished in the Champion Soccer league down St. Margaret's. Got a 3 week break until the cup finals on the 9th, got to the last 8 out of 24 teams in our first season so not too bad! New season starts the following week on the 16th, get your apps in if your interested in joining!
Bakey Posted 16 June 2011 Posted 16 June 2011 National Tournament this Saturday. Anybody else going? Soooooo excited
Bert Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 National Tournament this Saturday. Anybody else going? Yeah mate. Will see you there. My team is pitch 11, group 22. Yours?
Mikey Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Yeah mate. Will see you there. My team is pitch 11, group 22. Yours? Pitch 10, group 19. Take it you're in the morning as well? Have you been before?
Father Ted Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 We came 2nd in the Evington Leisure leagues division and so got free entry, but half of my team are playing in another tournament instead!
Bert Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Pitch 10, group 19. Take it you're in the morning as well? Have you been before? You're next to us then! Yeah we lost in the final the first time we went, and got done by a dodgy penalty in the quarters last year.
Bert Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 We are Group 23, pitch 12 morning session. Next to us too!
Sly Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Nothing worse than sitting around for 5 hours, when we actually got to play we battered the team we play .... then lose on penos.
Bert Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Nothing worse than sitting around for 5 hours, when we actually got to play we battered the team we play .... then lose on penos. We got done in the last 16, disappointing but we did ok. The teams that get there earlier are at a massive disadvantage because of the four hour plus wait for the knockouts. Think the team in Real Madrid kits will win it, look a class outfit.
Mikey Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Got beat in round of 64, to a team who we dominated but they got a controversial penalty for the last kick of the game. Yeah the team in Real Madrid kits were class but they didn't win it! they went out on pennos in the semi's somehow..the blue team won it, apparently had the England futsal captain playing for them.

Mikey Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Was surprised when I found out, but didn't see all the teams! Did you stay for the final? Yep. Well anti-climactic!

Squad list for next game: http://www.thefa.com/England/england-futsal/News/2011/squad-060611 Rob Ursell was the guy playing, England captain. The winners weren't even a Leisure Leagues team! They paid the £80 entry fee for teams who don't play in Leisure Leagues to get free entry (finishing in top two of league).

Sly Posted 19 June 2011 Posted 19 June 2011 I think Leisure Leagues got it all wrong yesterday. The teams that play in the mornIng session are at a massive disadvantage waiting 4 / 5 hours for the next game. Like last year, it rained but no cover. They wouldn't let us utilise the upper tier of the pavillion. So quite a few people got wet. Only selling "fatty foods", no health option on site. Sell from fruit!! Selling beer! ..... at a football tournament ... just seems wrong to me. No shop, Leisure Leagues like creaming money out of people, surprised they missed this opportunity. How many people would have purchased new gear yesterday? .... or at least a coat to stay out of the rain!! If not them, allow someone else on site! This was a National Football Tournament and all the above requires fixing. Then we wonder why English football is in the state it's in. Is it me?!? Or does my marketing brain just take over?
