No worries mate, saw you'd actually broke it so fair play Got battered by them, and destroyed by DLZ the last night, mainly due to my having to scrat around for players near enough all day and as you’re aware I didn’t manage it against Ford. No real goalkeeper for either game, I had to play in nets against DLZ as anyone who has seen my play in the sticks will tell you I am woeful. Rang up this afternoon to pull Legends out, will be sad to leave especially as the teams been around for 8/9 years and I’ve been playing for them for about 4 years now but it’s definitely time. Of the six /seven lads I used to play with back when we could actually compete in the top division only I play on a regular basis and the teams forever chopping and changing. It’s too expensive, the ref’s are sin bin/card happy. And it’s get progressively violent in there and we’ve had a well documented problem with one of our players which I don’t think was dealt with particularly well. Anyway have to give 2 weeks notice which sets up one last Legends v Double XL show down in 2 weeks time so that’ll be a decent way to go out.

So far we've played 5, won 2, drawn 2 and lost 1. The two matches we've won have been when our 'keepers not been on holiday though, every time one of us replaces him we're useless.

We are all 16 but we are all play at quite a high standard. Could anybody have a guess as to how we will fair against the average 16-60 5-a-side team? Can't wait to play

Games are every wednesday evening and it's £16.50 per week so divide that by however many are playing.......I think i might have to pursuade them to go for blue

They were big and very agressive- getting well frustrated at the end as they were losing to a bunch of 16 year old lads, started kicking the shit out of us but we were happy to take the freekicks. Wasted time at the end and i have to say i scored a bit of a beaut They also scored an OG as you were not alowed to one two it with the keeper and he had to let it in They were a very good team and have apparently been playing in the leagues for 5 years so it was nice to get off with a very decent win

Yeah there is a head height rule which pissed me off because every deflection there was a freekick and it got annoying but oh well. I ended up with a bust lip after i got elbowed in the face by accident. Come before Bamburgh, or before Middlesbrough and you can go back to Peterbrough on the train with me Make it happen!

Won 3-0 against a fairly average side but we played some nice on the floor continental football. Only one more week left of this season then new season around mid august time where we are hoping to mount a promotion challenge.

Put it this way, if we had the same team as last week we would have won yesterday. We had to players who just couldn't do anything on a 5-a-side pitch. They got it and lost it. We had a better keeper but when half your outfield players aren't great, there isn't much you can do unfortunately
Sparky Posted 1 August 2010 Posted 1 August 2010 Played in The legends tournament at goals this afternoon, just picked 8 of the lads and had a bit of a laugh. Won 1 lost 4 so went out in group stage. City Legends were in a ferent group and included Izzet, Walsh, Elliott, Taggs and Jimmy Quinn. We actually played another team called BASH skip hire which were also a team of ex pros, Richard Smith(City, Grimsby), Steve Holden (City, Luton) Scott Oakes (City, Luton, Sheff Wed) and Sam Mcmahon(City) . They were excellent but we battled really well and lost 2-0. Decent day

Why dont you get yourselves organised then, and make sure you have relatively the same players each week? Of course your injury didnt help things.

Impossible when everyones on holiday, and it didn't affect the game but was till a pain. Being able to pass it back to the keeper is a massive pain in the arse too. All they did once they went ahead was get into there own corner and pass it back to the keeper <_<
