Sly Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 You in the nationals again? No, last time we entered a mixed Grampus/Cadiz team. Grampus qualified but we didn't this time ... and at the rate we're going won't for a while!!
Sly Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 Yeah but let's be honest Bert, your team is inevitably better than ours. For starters, you won your league outright, and seem to every year. We finished 2nd in the 2nd division! We'll see. I don't even know when it is. I was expecting the standard to be a lot, lot higher. You lads wouldn't disgrace yourselves and should give it a crack. We played three teams in our group, one wanted to kick lumps out of us, one was woeful and the other was Scottish and despite the fact we beat them .... actually went further than us!! We lost the eventuall winners.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 September 2010 Posted 7 September 2010 Yeah your game did not go too well at all...annoying that we draw with Novices but lost to you They are a good team, they're all huge too! Yeah I was pleased with us, if I had taken my chances we could maybe have got something but not too worried. I knew my dink wasn't going in! Didn't catch it right, would have been good though. The ref is always shocking, he is a dreadful ref he really is. Can't wait for the other chap to be back next week. The foul wasn't a big thing, was through on goal after doing a roulette so I wasn't happy! Grampus are definitely the top team, Barnes aren't what they were and Novices is just Goodie. Stop him and you stop them, unfortunately you lot did neither tonight! We should beat YGSYPT next week, don't rate them much at all. Although we've got players going back off to uni again now so that's frustrating. And we've played all of those 3 teams! They are terrible, why did you ditch your Cadiz shirts? YGSYPT With Simon = not to shabby YGSYPT Without Simon = crap. Their in the 2nd division of our league at the minute, above said player is playing for us and has been playing for us for about 18 months in the prem and is now also playing for them in the 2nd. We played them in a friendly and drew with them and they had Simon and we really weren't trying at all having just knackered ourselves only losing 2-1 to Hastings. Be interesting to see if he defects if they go up and we stay up! I have not seen Mattley in weeks Sly, and is Lego injured if so quality as we have Magners on Wednesday and if we beat them got a great chance for 3rd. I have been hearing this national tournament is hardly the greatest of standards.
Sly Posted 7 September 2010 Posted 7 September 2010 Hastings, Ford or Aquarius at full strength would be dominate to be honest. Obviously their are a few good teams but a lot are just cannon fodder. Lego is playing, he played on Sunday night for WOT instead of Grampus. Not sure on Mattley. What's the standard like now on a Wednesday? Have XXL picked up any points in the Sunday League as yet? I'm still suffering with my broken fingers from the game against Aquarius!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 We failed to get promotion on goal difference last season, best defence in the league, second worst scoring record. Doesn't help when teams at Goals without 'keepers get to loan fucking Casillas but it can't be helped. Managed to kick off a new season last night with a 9-4 win against a team that came down.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Wtf?! Had a keeper last season that's gone back to Sheffield. Got a new one who's not as good. And sometimes we can 'turn it on' in front of goal.
Father Ted Posted 9 September 2010 Posted 9 September 2010 Just got a phone call. The team we're meant to be playing this week in Leisure leagues won't be turning up so we get another 5-0 win as well as getting to play 2 friendly matches.
lildave3 Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 We won 3-1. I bagged a hat-trick. Huge win.
Mee Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Do any of you lads play in the St Margarets Sunday league? We may be thinking of joining up. Free win for you guys i guess
Bakey Posted 12 September 2010 Posted 12 September 2010 Drew 1-1 with novices, with thanks going to LD3 and Mikey for guesting
Sly Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 Drew 1-1 with novices, with thanks going to LD3 and Mikey for guesting I sat and watched this game and it was very entertaining. Thge Novices goal was a peach, followed by a great save from the Sweet as a Nut keeper, then the Novices centre back got sin binned for assulting folk and shouting on a regular basis, then Sweet as a nut equalised! We beat Barnes 4-3 and Grampus drew 1-1 with Hayden. So the league is wide open again!!
filbertway Posted 13 September 2010 Posted 13 September 2010 Well played boys! More of the same! Did potter go to university or did he stay loyl to the team?

Sly Posted 16 September 2010 Posted 16 September 2010 Narrows it down. I think his names Brosser or Prosser something like that. Top save, I'd have been proud of that one!
Sly Posted 19 September 2010 Posted 19 September 2010 Massive win for us tonight against Grampus. Keeps us third on a minus G/d after Novices tanked us the other week!
Sly Posted 19 September 2010 Posted 19 September 2010 Not even mentioning this week. You looked slightly peeved!!!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 September 2010 Posted 22 September 2010 After a very credible 5th place two seasons ago and even better 4th place last season finishing 1 point behind Magners, we need to avoid defeat in order to guranantee retaining our Premier League status for the 4th season running. Might get lucky as the divisions might go back into one anyway but hopefully we can do it the right way. Been a struggle getting players at times this season, not helped by LD3's aka Ben Staplefords refusal to guest appear for us 3 times this season, what he doesn't know is I still have his trophy from 2008's Division One league title win though .
