ACF Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 All of what Manny said + my name is not Ben fucking Shephard. If Leisure Leagues take over, prepare to have your name spelled wrong. Okay Ben Shephard.
Manwell Pablo Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 All of what Manny said + my name is not Ben fucking Shephard. If Leisure Leagues take over, prepare to have your name spelled wrong. That is hilarious.
Sly Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 All of what Manny said + my name is not Ben fucking Shephard. If Leisure Leagues take over, prepare to have your name spelled wrong. You'll notice that Gaz is down as Greg and Gaz sutton for us!! I run a team and they are a joke in all honesty. All of what Manny says and they are just frustrating!! The serivce we had before when the Leisure Centre ran the league was so much better!!
lildave3 Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 That is hilarious. Last year I had 2 Ben Shephards, one Ben Shephard for another team and just one with my real name. Ridiculous. You'll notice that Gaz is down as Greg and Gaz sutton for us!! I run a team and they are a joke in all honesty. All of what Manny says and they are just frustrating!! The serivce we had before when the Leisure Centre ran the league was so much better!! They never get names right, even if it's Tom Smith they'll still pop him down as Tim. They put Lego down as Clive the other week
ozleicester Posted 2 September 2010 Posted 2 September 2010 All of what Manny said + my name is not Ben fucking Shephard. If Leisure Leagues take over, prepare to have your name spelled wrong. Poor.. very poor.. i assume its actually spelt Ben PHUCKING Shepard?... have a word with them
ousefox Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Played a game a few weeks back which we drew 4-4. The game ends and the ref says it was 5-4 to the other team when everybody knew that simply wasn't the case. I was pissed had a go at the ref but nothing came of it as the ref is always right..... They had a quality keeper who had volunteered to play for them as they didn't have enough players and he was from another division and had already played and even he told the man in charge of the league that it was a draw. Shame the rest of their team weren't man enough to admit this and they ended up getting the 5-4 win. Slightly sad how 5 or 6 grown men can't admit defeat especially against a bunch of 16 year olds.

Well, admit it was a draw. Can you not complain to the organisers or something? How have you got on since that result?
Mikey Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Lost 4-1 to the best team in the league. Didn't play too bad, certainly didn't deserve to lose 4-1.
lildave3 Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Lost 4-1 to the best team in the league. Didn't play too bad, certainly didn't deserve to lose 4-1. Was it 4? I can't even count, thought it was 3. Anyway, we played really well. Interested to see what Sly says, he watched it!
Bakey Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Won 4-0 with 2 guests 2nd clean sheet of the season (even though i only had one to save)
Bert Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 No offence to Dan but he clearly does not know what he is talking about. Have ran two teams in Leisure Leagues, one I had to fold due to their ridiculous rules. They A) Frequently get scores wrong on their website B) Have poor referees and the turn over of refs is shocking, and they all play different rules C) Deal with disicplianry issues very poorly, normally just banning everyone involved to save face. D) Make you play and pay their ridiculous fee's for terrible friendly games when your opponents don't show up E) Make you pay unless 7 days notice is given before a fixture, who knows 7 days in advance if their 5 a side team will struggle the week after. F) Website is littered with the kind of spelling and grammar mistakes that would make even me cringe G) Have twice in the last season been asked to play an outdoor game with an indoor Cyclone as there were no more balls available H) They cram as many teams in as possible sometimes leading to 14 teams playing in one division leading to stupid gulfs in class, having played for top teams and teams that struggle if your're winning 15-0 or losing 15-0 it aint really much fun. I) As mentioned $18 is is 40% hike up on what I used to pay J) Guest player rule is a joke, and is poorly upheld by Refs some people play for about 7 teams a season illegally. You guys need to get down Leicester Sundays.
ousefox Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Well, admit it was a draw. Can you not complain to the organisers or something? How have you got on since that result? We have but they said they are sticking with the refs result which we can't complain about as it is the ref, and the other teams thinking against ours so we don't reallt stand much chance Don't ask Now that nobody is on holiday anymore we have our strongest possible team next week apart from one guy who is average so hopefully we should get a result.
Sly Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Was it 4? I can't even count, thought it was 3. Anyway, we played really well. Interested to see what Sly says, he watched it! I stayed and watched after we played and got mauled against Novices!! .... my summary as follows They have now won 16 games in a row and are a good five a side team. We were the last side to beat them back in May! Shame we've fallen off ....... badly!! It finished 4-1 and I the lads admitted afterwards that actually flattered them a little. The game was tight for the first 10 minutes. I thought you passed and moved the ball around quite well and that's actually the best I've seen you lads played in all fairness. They were missing Lego and Mattley tonight , so adopted a more physical approach to the game which I don't think helped you lads. Saying that, you forced Unwin (their keeper) into making a lot of saves and if you'd taken a few of the chances you created it would have been a different game. Shame you little dink at the end just went wide!! All in all, if you played that well against 5 of the 8 teams in the league, I actually thought the ref was shocking and the no overhead rule should be scrapped as they call it when they like. I didn't really see the foul on you, which was a big moment at 1-0 as Wilson, who was also involved obstucted my view, it sounded nasty though. The league is basically split into two sets of teams. The top three teams are Grampus, Barnes and Novices. I don't think their is much between us (Cadiz), you (Team with no name), YGPST, Sweet as nut and Hayden. It'll be the game against each other that really determine who stays up. You've played two of better three teams so the fact your on 1 point, shouldn't really dishearten you lads!! As an afterthought, our pink Palermo shirts are terrible and they seem to have impacted on our ability to play football ala Southampton Vs Manchester United at the Dell during the 1995/96 season when Man U decided to change shirts at half time!!

Fair summary. Btw we've played all 3 of the 'big' teams in the league.
Sly Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Fair summary. Btw we've played all 3 of the 'big' teams in the league. Even better then!
filbertway Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 When I'm back at christmas you'll have yourself a 10 goal a game man!

Yeah your game did not go too well at all...annoying that we draw with Novices but lost to you They are a good team, they're all huge too! Yeah I was pleased with us, if I had taken my chances we could maybe have got something but not too worried. I knew my dink wasn't going in! Didn't catch it right, would have been good though. The ref is always shocking, he is a dreadful ref he really is. Can't wait for the other chap to be back next week. The foul wasn't a big thing, was through on goal after doing a roulette so I wasn't happy! Grampus are definitely the top team, Barnes aren't what they were and Novices is just Goodie. Stop him and you stop them, unfortunately you lot did neither tonight! We should beat YGSYPT next week, don't rate them much at all. Although we've got players going back off to uni again now so that's frustrating. And we've played all of those 3 teams! They are terrible, why did you ditch your Cadiz shirts?
Sly Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 We were just woeful in every department tonight. One of those games. Doesn't help us that we only have about 4 players that play week in week out and the rest just rotate. So some weeks we are better than others. Well, we each purchased our own shirts when we set the team up so when we lost 4 or 5 players, we had to get new shirts. So we opted for Pink as they woudln't clash!!
Father Ted Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Played my first match in a Leisure Leagues league this evening. The team we were meant to play never turned up so automatically won 5-0. Played 2 friendlies and won them both 2-0 and 3-0 respectively. Our team included 'Dylan' off of here.

lildave3 Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 You in the nationals again? We are apparently! Doubt we'll actually do it though...
Bert Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 We are apparently! Doubt we'll actually do it though... Why not? It's quailty and it don't cost you anything!
Mikey Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 Why not? It's quailty and it don't cost you anything! I want to do it, but I can see why Ben don't think we will. We'll get absolutely raped.
Bert Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 I want to do it, but I can see why Ben don't think we will. We'll get absolutely raped. You'd be surprised mate. We thought that when we went, and we lost in the final of it, and then lost in the quarters last year.
lildave3 Posted 5 September 2010 Posted 5 September 2010 You'd be surprised mate. We thought that when we went, and we lost in the final of it, and then lost in the quarters last year. Yeah but let's be honest Bert, your team is inevitably better than ours. For starters, you won your league outright, and seem to every year. We finished 2nd in the 2nd division! We'll see. I don't even know when it is.
