Bert Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Leicester were one of the first few city/county's to receive EMA funding too.
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 I best go and buy some Emo clothes, I wanna look the part aswell, I wonder if there is such a thing as a Turbaned Emo, I will be unique the Emo bitches are gonna love it!!! Emos don't love anything Singh. Choose from: - disturbed - misunderstood - indifferent/aloof
Libertine Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Lo-fi folk poet actually. I stand corrected.
Bert Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Your household income (for financial year 2007/2008) How much EMA you get up to £20,817 per year £30 per week £20,818 - £25,521 per year £20 a week £25,522 - £30,810 per year £10 a week more than £30,810 per year no entitlement to EMA My parents are both retired, so my sis gets the full £30. Why not get some money back when you can! Yeah, that's correct. If your parents have good jobs, you're screwed.
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Leicester were one of the first few city/county's to receive EMA funding too. No wonder the cannabis trade there is booming.

Sorry, but you can't be a non-confortmist without wearing the exact same clothes and listening to the same music.
Dr The Singh Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Emos don't love anything Singh.Choose from: - disturbed - misunderstood - indifferent/aloof Bastards, luckily I kept a reciept....what about gangster, trendy, or the indie look????
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Sorry, but you can't be a non-confortmist without wearing the exact same clothes and listening to the same music. Singh can do as he likes, he follows no one's rules, except his own. And even then he bends them from time to time.
Wycombe Fox Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 They've got to support their kids somehow! You know that's not true otherwise EMA would start at 12 up there!
Libertine Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 By the way, I only have one parent nowadays so therefore I deseve money and lot's of it.
Tommeh Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 it is a discrace, I wasn't entitled to it the last 2 years when I was in 6th form but I knew a few people who were got it and every sat night on the lash was funded by it! You can even get it if your parents are single regardless of how much they earn
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Doesn't it encourage people who shouldn't stay in school to stay in school though? We need people to work in mcdonalds etc (we need burgers sometimes), we need homeless people (chance to ease conscience with a 20p donation here and there) etc etc. Doesn't it just mean that wasters hang on in there rather than facing up to their destiny and either taking a low paid job, having a family and living off the state or just heading straight to jail?
Libertine Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 It is ridiculous though I agree. But I'm not going to turn down money. Especially when Jessops is going down the pan, so my Ma will be out of a job soon enough.

It can do. But i think it was more aimed at the ones who could have stayed on, but didn't want to. Therefore this EMA funding changing their minds.
Dr The Singh Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Singh can do as he likes, he follows no one's rules, except his own. And even then he bends them from time to time. Too right, when we hit the college all of the youths will want to be like us, were trend setters!!!
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Too right, when we hit the college all of the youths will want to be like us, were trend setters!!! I'm going to get a cardigan and one of those skinny ties. That's what the kids wear these days... They look ridiculous, but I think that's part of the appeal. We should get Master Fox in as well, he's a good lad.
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 No wonder the biggest financial institutions in the world are all on their knees. These bloody students are bleeding us dry. Off with their nads!
lookwhaticando Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 It's a ****ing mess! Why do the Sweaties get EMA up to the age of 19 when it's only up to the age of 18 in England? They've got to support their kids somehow! Your household income (for financial year 2007/2008) The great news is that if you work part-time while in school, your own income isn't included in the household income. There's a few abuses possible, apparently... if your parents are collectively well-off but divorced, you can live with the poorer of the two to claim more money (if they're below the threshold by themselves, obviously). So if you live with mummy who makes 19,508 p.a. and have a daddy making 35,000 p.a. who supports you, and you have a part time job of your own for a little extra spending money, you'll still be getting thirty quid. Allegedly.

MF would love this, there must be some Bertha's at college for him!!! I'm thinking of buying some skin thight Jeans that would probably suffocate my nads and make me infertile!!!
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 If the system is a mess, I'm considering applying. I bet they're not even checking. Scrotums.
The People's Hero Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Also, EMA used to be East Midlands Airport... but they couldn't let us have that could they? No. Not for a bleedin' minute. The only sodding reason you'd ever go anywhere near Leicester and they've changed it from an airport to a bloody drugs fund for little sh its.
Simi Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 Could one of you guys who receives EMA please tell me, honestly, what you do with it? Does any of it go towards your school/college education (not the education of life - us taxpayers are getting educated in that!!) and if so, what percentage? I think this is going to hurt! Yours sincerely Mr. Well-And-Truly-Shafted-Up-The-Jacksie-With-The-Blunt-End-Of-A-Rotating-PineappleLabour Government Isle of Wight England I use it to pay for my away days. Yeah, that's correct. If your parents have good jobs, you're screwed. My mum has a good job, but my Dad is no longer around so the combined income is inside the catchment thing.
Floating Fox Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 God bless tony Blair and his semi-comunist government. Wouldn't have survived without EMA. Meant I could laze around and not get a job
Tabou Posted 18 September 2008 Posted 18 September 2008 God bless tony Blair and his semi-comunist government. Wouldn't have survived without EMA. Meant I could laze around and not get a job And to think I enjoyed your company on that night out. I hate you now.
