Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Been itching to do something recently. Instead of a "new music" one, thinking of doing ten tracks from Albums That Everyone Needs - see if I can unearth some old gems that people might have missed! Or remind other of stuff they have forgotten. I think that one thing that put people off was the mixes were too long. I know my reviews needed a fair few listens of music and probably 30 mins to 1 hr to write a review. Takes some dedication.
lefox Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Cool.. I'll get onto it.. I maybe wrong but don't I have to have everyones email address for yousendit.com?
Edmund Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Cool.. I'll get onto it.. I maybe wrong but don't I have to have everyones email address for yousendit.com? No mate, all you do is go to www.yousendit.com or www.megaupload.com or any upload site for that matter. Go to select upload and it will ask you to locate the file. Once you have done this it will upload to the server and will provide you with a url once it has finished. Then you post the url here with a track-list Also make sure you zip it or rar it to one single file.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 Send it to yourself and then post the link in this forum. Trust me, it's easier than it sounds.
Jay Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Are we ever going to do one of these properly? =/ I have done loads!! feel free to knock up a mix whenever you wish Libertine!!!
Libertine Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 I have done loads!!feel free to knock up a mix whenever you wish Libertine!!! I mean a whole FoxesTalk CD Swap. The ones on TFF are great. Even though they're actual physical copies. Be nice if we could stick to a schedule innit.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 In fairness, it's usually the last minute, end-of-thread, contributors who fail to post ie, those who weren't so keen to start. As I said, I think the size of some people's compos puts people off too. Guilt as charged! Then you also have the few people who want to get their music out there, inflicting it on others, without broadening their own horizons! The "trick" is to at least download the mix as soon as it's posted - even if you can't listen to it straight away. That's my 'apenceworth anyway.

lefox Posted 17 April 2009 Posted 17 April 2009 Ok people.. here's three lists. 1. Blues Click Here - 46mb, 11 songs Everyone loves the blues, not sure how much of this you guys have but we'll see.. Download for: Joe Bonamassa the new boy in town, Seasick Steve who has 3 strings on his guitar and John Lee Hooker, Legend 2. Heavy Click Here - 59mb, 12 songs Love the bands on this.. hope you heavy people do too Download for: Flotsam and Jetsam, Metallica's heaviest off the new album and some classic Rammstein 3. Indie and random Click Here - 70mb, 19 songs Some indie, quite commercial, so either you may have forgotten about some people or different to the usual tracks.. hopefully Download for: Rodrigo Y Gabriella simply wonderful acoustic guitars, Insprial Carpets and The Young Knives at their poetic best Let me know how you get on with them, what you liked what you didn't so I can readjust in the future, it's on yousendit so you have 7 days peeps. Worried this might be too commercial, so take it easy on me if so...! Think the next set of stuff will be good covers and must have songs from great albums from my top 100 albums book! - My choice of course! I may even nerd you with stats too! Happy Listening Lefox x
