James. Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 So let's go back to look at the thread when Pearson took charge... Or maybe Thracian's post after Pearson's first game... No actually. Let's not. We could spend all day looking over old posts but the only thing we will draw from it is that some fans are fickle, some are poor judges and others are just plain idiots. Great. We know that already. Why don't we instead focus on the positives for once? There's a shit load of them so even the most cynical, negative poster should have something to stop them trying to lower the tone...

How would it lower the tone? you've got to look back and laugh at things!
Webbo Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 So let's go back to look at the thread when Pearson took charge... If you did you'd find me slagging him off more than most. I've already admitted I was wrong and I'll admit it again. He's signed some good players so far and has done well with the players he's inherited .To me he's more like Brian Little than O'Neil. He has the same air of quiet authority that Little had.
James. Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 How would it lower the tone? you've got to look back and laugh at things! My judgement of you and your posts is possibly more cynical than it should be...
Raj Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 To Nigel Pearson...============ a) For taking us to the top of the League! b) For doing so playing proper football c) For giving us wingers like Dyer and Adams. d) For having no truck with contradictory claptrap in the media. e) For not fielding eight defenders. f) For playing a balanced team. g) For not making pointless team changes and substitutions. h) For having the courage to attack even away from home. i) For signing exciting yet focused players. j) For allowing those players to express themselves. k) For bringing the best out of players who had once looked like flops. l) For signing a footballing centre-back in Tunchev. m) For showing faith in Gradel and King. n) For getting everyone to work together. o) For getting the team properly fit. p) For giving our club its dignity back. q) For giving our fans renewed and justified pride in their team. r) For not insulting players or criticising them in public. s) For spending money wisely t) For keeping the chairman quiet u) For saying little but doing a lot and quickly. v) For not sitting back when we take the lead w) For not signing anyone who didn't deserve the shirt. x) For managing with both common sense and authority. y) For making it fun to be a fan again. z) For earning people's respect, including mine. I well know you'll make mistakes and that I'll doubtless chuck in some criticism when you do. I also know that we've won nothing as yet and that we've not even got the guarantee of promotion. But none of that negates the above which has in itself, when all put together, amounted to a monumental achievement considering the circumstances when you took over. I just hope that as a club we've learned a lot of lessons now that we'll not need to learn again. You forgot one thing....Thanks for the cream you suggested which sorted out my anal scratching.

I just hope that as a club we've learned a lot of lessons now that we'll not need to learn again. Agree with all of that. I've been to the past two away matches, and there is a much better feel about them. Our fans, on the whole, are happy again and enjoying following this club. We've got our pride back.
Alexikokopops Posted 1 October 2008 Posted 1 October 2008 I don't think I've ever seen Thracian so happy. It's a little confusing to be honest.
Thracian Posted 1 October 2008 Author Posted 1 October 2008 I don't think I've ever seen Thracian so happy. It's a little confusing to be honest. All I've ever wanted, as a fan, is for my team to approach their football in exactly the way Pearson seems to advocate. It didn't seem a lot to ask four or five years ago, when we started flying the flag for blanket defence, falling into footballing oblivion and finally becoming a disgrace to the name Leicester City. But it's sure taken a long time to change.
ozleicester Posted 2 October 2008 Posted 2 October 2008 You forgot one thing....Thanks for the cream you suggested which sorted out my anal scratching. Isnt there a topic on here about someone being fooled by the use of cream? Dare we ask how Thrac applied it for you?
Thracian Posted 4 October 2008 Author Posted 4 October 2008 I don't think I've ever seen Thracian so happy. It's a little confusing to be honest. I'm even happier now. That's five times in the last 10 games we've scored three goals or more. It's my kind of football. :scarf:
BigGibbo Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 Odd.The silence is almost scary - my money is on a new manager before Halloween. Aah shit Halloween what nights that? I'm going to have to get some sweets in so the peasant kids don't egg my house!
BigGibbo Posted 4 October 2008 Posted 4 October 2008 P.S Great post Thracian. Thanks Nige a little less conversation a little more action we've needed that for quite a while & now we have it!
