Jimmy Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 I can see why people did it though. I don't think it was because of the mistake, more his attitude and utter contempt for his wife and many others. Maybe it wasn't the best way to show their displeasure at him, but I can understand why they did it. I hadn't thought about that at the time, but that does seem to be what most people are saying, that's its because its Ashley Cole and had Rio made the same mistake then he wouldn't of been booed

I don't agree with it regardless.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Collymore is blowing a gasket on TalkSport about all this booing comotion.
Corky Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 If it was for those reasons alone then why wasn't he booed from the start?I don't agree with it regardless. They are the only reasons I can come up with. We really need to hear the views of those that did boo, only they know.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 As an aside, this is a great picture. Shame those types of pictures only come along every five years.
Tevez Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 You really are having a laugh, aren't you? Barry kept it simple, and accurate. His passes actually made it to someone in a white shirt.I think tonight proved, above all, that Gerrard and Lampard clearly CANNOT play together, although I thought Lampard was decent tonight. Lampard and Barry in the middle against Belarus, please. Gareth Barry was gash, thats why he was subsituted at HT. Barry didnt keep it simple at all he hardly got involved and at least Gerrard and Lamps tried to make things happen. Second half Gerrard was alot better than Lampard. So Gerrard and Lamps against Belarus, please.

It probably will be Gerrard/Lampard together against Belarus though.

His feeble attempts at tackles were weak, and, bar a few excellent cross field passes, his overall play was appaling. I thought Lampard's movement was much better throughout the match and at least his passing was crisp and went to the right team. When Barry was on he was clearing up the mess of Gerrard and having to track back. Alot. He can't attack while he having to defend after England have lost possession. Again. Stan Collymore agrees with me.
Bert Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Don't get me wrong I like Beckham, I think he's a good player, but watching England is like watching The David Beckham Show, Just waiting till the star of the show to make an appearance. The atmosphere has totally changed since he come on, The commenter's talk about him forever. As I said nothing against Beckham, just the pathetic fans at England games, like they go to see one player. What, perhaps one of the best ever players to have played for England? He's always going to get that reaction. I can see why people did it though. I don't think it was because of the mistake, more his attitude and utter contempt for his wife and many others. Maybe it wasn't the best way to show their displeasure at him, but I can understand why they did it. It was un-necessary though. What is it going to achieve, apart from putting Cole under more pressure, and annoying his team-mates? Cole was instructed by his centre-back to play the ball backwards and he did, but whilst doing it, he cocked it up, like you and me, he's a human being and everyone makes mistakes, the booing was completely out of order.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Also, I thought Cole was one of the more steady performers. Didn't put a foot wrong all night apart from that mistake. Upson looked really shaky. He can't cope at that level.
MC Prussian Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 First half was a forgettable experience - England just couldn't get anything together. Either the attacks were too feeble or blocked by the Kazakhs. Second half was a lot better, much more entertaining (mainly because Kazakhstan never really gave up). In the end, a 5-1 is rather flattering, but all in all a deserved result. Ashley Cole's assist to Kazakhstan's only goal will certainly be contender for best comedy moment of the year!!

Alright then he might have made a couple of mistakes, but he got forward really well and tracked back reasonably. His tackling was top notch as well. Form is Temporary, Class is Permanent. No, I won't hear of it, Upson is shit!
Tommeh Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 Shame those types of pictures only come along every five years. Result maybe but not the away support. Really want to get myself to one of these aways soon. Probably work out cheaper than a comfy seat at the Nestle Dome aswell.

purpleronnie Posted 12 October 2008 Posted 12 October 2008 So Gerrard and Lamps against Belarus, please. But it doesnt work. Why not pick the best team and not the best players. We played well against Croatia for the first time in a long time without gerrard & Lampard together, why change it?
