Matt Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Don't get me wrong I like Beckham, I think he's a good player, but watching England is like watching The David Beckham Show, Just waiting till the star of the show to make an appearance. The atmosphere has totally changed since he come on, The commenter's talk about him forever. As I said nothing against Beckham, just the pathetic fans at England games, like they go to see one player.

Jimmy Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 c'mon Becks plant 1 of them trademark crosses on Emile's head
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Same old if you ask me. And to think some idiots were getting too far ahead of themselves. The media and fans ( not all of them ) have disrespected smaller teams for far to long. We are are nothing in terms of true greats of National Level Football, So we have no reason to take the piss. Oh shit, 4-1, we will definitely win the world cup. It's in the bag, we are the best!!
Matt Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Well Done England. 4-1. It flatters England, but people will look at the result in years to come and not remember the performance
Samilktray Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Finally some one I truly like scores for England.
Matt Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Nothing wrong with having a favourite player though is there. Not at all, but whether Lloyd Dyer (My favourite Leicester player) is playing or not doesn't effect what atmosphere I produce, I go to and do support the whole team, Not one player.
davieG Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Heskey's been unlucky tonight, their goalie seems to be reserving all his best saves for him.
lildave3 Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Well Done England. 4-1. It flatters England, but people will look at the result in years to come and not remember the performance 5? Pretty poor until we got the first couple. Gerrard was woeful and refused to shoot when he had a great chance to, but when we were a few goals up he was shooting at will. Ridiculous. Cole's part for their goal was terrible, but **** off to the twats that booed him. Heskey deserved a goal.
Corky Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Gutted for Emile. Yes, he's one player I'd love to see do well for England, given the amount of unfair stick he gets from brain-dead England "fans". I thought the Beckham reception was over-the-top. The scoreline flattered England.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Can anyone tell me what the significance of having Gareth Barry playing is? He has not got involved.Bring that nobend off and Beckham on the right and Walcott on the left. Whip balls in for Emile and we will definetly score. Gerrard hasnt been that bad compared to Barry. And thats not me lying. You really are having a laugh, aren't you? Barry kept it simple, and accurate. His passes actually made it to someone in a white shirt. I think tonight proved, above all, that Gerrard and Lampard clearly CANNOT play together, although I thought Lampard was decent tonight. Lampard and Barry in the middle against Belarus, please.

The first half was garbage though.

dandannieldanok Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 That was pretty tame and the scoreline is definitely flattering, but if you look around the other results so far in this qualifying campaign not many nations are dispatching the minnows convincingly. Belarus is going to be tougher and improvements need to made before Wednesday. I can't think of any England player that stood out as doing well, the majority were mediocre and a couple were just plain crap, Gerrard and SWP. And the Beckham love from the crowd is pathetic in all honesty, I think Capello needs to put his international career to bed now. He isn't good enough to start and doesn't really have any impact from the bench apart from the ability to cross.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind people liking him as their favourite player, it's just the reaction every time he got the ball that annoyed me slightly.

Corky Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 What so now fans cant cheer on there favourite player?Give it a break. Didn't it annoy you last season when Fryatt got a hero's recpetion even if he was playing crap? In my opinion, it puts more pressure on the likes of Walcott and SWP, as these fans will expect them to be like Beckham and will be over-critical when they aren't (and I've seen it before). As I said, it's only my opinion.

Corky Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 think them boo's to A. Cole are out of order Didn't think the support could get any worse. But booing Cole...truly embarassing. I can see why people did it though. I don't think it was because of the mistake, more his attitude and utter contempt for his wife and many others. Maybe it wasn't the best way to show their displeasure at him, but I can understand why they did it.
purpleronnie Posted 11 October 2008 Posted 11 October 2008 Howz A Hole playing at the back?, I still dont rate the geezer, 5 years ago I did he always seems to play at 100 miles an hour I'd prefer a more level headed left back. Of course he could be playing well, I cant watch it over here. Well...yet again A Hole ****s up. Anyway didn't see it but sounded like a crazy 2nd half. A wins a win.
