Anish Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Martin 6 - needs to come out for crosses, sticks to his line far too much Gilbert 7 Hobbs 7 Morrison 5 - poor distribution Powell 6 Adams 6 Oakley 5 King 7 Dyer 5 Howard 6 Fryatt 7 Subs: Kisnorbo 5 - his constant holding of attackers really annoyed me, he got far too close and was wrestling their strikers from behind - lucky not to have been penalised Gradel 5 Berner N/A

Daggers Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Martin 6 - pulled off one cracking save and stood no chance for the goal Powell 7 Gilbert 7 Hobbs 6 Morrison 6 Dyer 5 - but for his running about a bit it would have been lower Adams 4 - wank first half King 6.5 Oakley 6.5 Fryatt 7.5 - very good first half but Oldham had his measure in the second Howard 8 - Super Steve continues to be one of the mainstays of our season Subs: Kisnorbo 6 Gradel 4 - I am losing patience with the skinny one, lightweight and fails to contribute match-in match-out
Webbo Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Martin 6 There were times when I thought he should have came for the ball but didn't Powell 7 Gilbert 7 Hobbs 6 Morrison 6 Dyer 6 Adams 6 King 7 Oakley 6 Fryatt 6 Howard 7.5 Subs: Kisnorbo 6 Gradel 5 Did very little and what he did do he did poorly Berner N/A
RowlattsFox Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Martin -5 Gilbert -6 - I thought he got beat too easily by Taylor all game and I may be wrong but I think he made a mess of the clearnace which led to their goal, may have been Gradel though. Morrison -5 Hobbs -7 Powell -6 Adams -5 - not a great first half but was a little harsh to take him off. Oakley -6.5 King -6.5 Dyer -6 Howard -7 Fryatt -6 Kisnorbo -6 Gradel -5

Granno Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Gradel 4 - I am losing patience with the skinny one, lightweight and fails to contribute match-in match-out I'm starting to think the hype over the summer is turning out to be for nothing. I thought a break for Gradel would have done him good, but he's as lightweight as ever. Many more inept performances and he won't be here next season.
Asha Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Gradel is seriously overrated. Ok, he sometimes beats his man but he does fcuk all with it, and his delivery is piss poor.
Daggers Posted 18 October 2008 Posted 18 October 2008 Many more inept performances and he won't be here next season.I'll be surprised if he lasts that long if he doesn't start pulling some bunnies from hats

The Reverend Posted 19 October 2008 Posted 19 October 2008 I cant believe what some are saying about Gradel. He has so many problems in his life at the minute, he shouldnt even be near the team. It's hardly his fault that Pearsoncontinues to play him when football is probably the last thingon his mind. I feel sorry for the lad.

He gets picked, he picks up a salary and he hasn't told anyone he's not in the right mindset to play football and been withdrawn. Gradel obviously considers himself OK to play, as does Pearson, so he is up there for a slating if he doesn't perform. And he hasn't performed. It was obvious that he was a fresh talent in this division last season and took most clubs by surprise but they have the measure of him now, he simply doesn't have enough muscle to cope with a physical game, his close control seems to have gone to shit and his ability to pass a ball is shocking.

It's hardly his fault that Pearsoncontinues to play him when football is probably the last thingon his mind.I feel sorry for the lad. I agree to an extent but it is his responsibility to say "I can't really play very well at the minute for personal reasons, can I go on leave for a bit" (or something along those lines). Personally, if something that terrible happened to me then I'd probably rather be playing football to take it off my mind slightly.

I'd agree with that. I know what you are saying Rev but Gradel has made himself available for selection. If he is still struggling to cope with his problems then he should have a word with Pearson and ask for some time off.
