RizLCFC Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I know January is just over a couple of months away, but, we all know how quick the Christmas period tends to fly past, and, City will probably not make much activity in the transfer window, but, what additions or departures would you like to see based on the current position of the squad?
Joe. Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Another right back as cover for Gilbert wouldn't go amiss. It'd be nice to see another central midfielder come in to give a little more competition with Oakley and King too.
Father Ted Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Apparently Nige is going to get rid of 10 players... I would like to see a backup targetman striker. We have enough cover in all positions tbh.
Simi Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Apparently Nige is going to get rid of 10 players... I would like to see a backup targetman striker. We have enough cover in all positions tbh. Whos ready to cover at right back? Centre midfield as well?
Ashley Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I'd like to see Gilbert & Hobbs brought in on permo deals a new centre mid and a new striker. Mattock or Kisnorbo are likely to go during the January transfer window if not both.
SamL Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I'd like us to sign Gilbert and Hobbs on permanent deals if possible, and I'd also try to sign a centre mid, cover for Gilbert at right back and a striker.

Jimmy Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 In Lee Camp James Brown Jabo Ibehre/Liam Dickinson Lewis Grabban Out Bruno N'Gotty (permanently) Jonny Hayes (permanently) Conrad Logan (permanently) Luke O'Neill (loan) Craig King (loan)
davieG Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I'd like to see a striker full stop! i thought we already had two of them - well they don't move very quickly.

Joe. Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Lee Camp wouldn't be too bad either actually. Definitely within our reach.
Joe. Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Lee Camp is at forest So he is... shows how much I follow the Championship these days.
Jimmy Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 thinking about it, is it totally beyond our means to convince Lee Hendrie to come back on loan in Jan with a view to a permanent signing in the summer should we get promoted as I don't think he's playing much for Sheffield United
Ross-Kemp Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Sell Kisnorbo, Mattock & Clemence. We haven't needed them / missed them really. We have enough cover in both there positions, and the replacements are very capable. I can't see to many players coming in, in january IMO. But he should be looking at signing, Hobbs and gilbert permanently, a cover for right back, a central midfielder, because king and oakley can't play every game, and I don't think clemence would do a job to be honest. We need someone to come in with a bit of pace up top also.
Thracian Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Can't imagine Porter signing another contact here whether he's offered one or not. The way he's been discarded would be enough to make anyone go awol. Henderson might go. I know he's well enough paid but where's the fun in being permanent understudy to a loanee who's no better than you? With Tunchev, Kisnorbo, Morrison and Hobbs all being half decent centre-backs one of them will surely go. Cos in the present situation at least one and perhaps two would be doing a lot of thumbs twiddling. Clemence should go - via a pay-off - but I don't suppose he will. DJ might as well go the same way. When he's fit (enough) we never really use him and when he's not fit he's no use to us. Plus, sometimes for their own good, Logan, Kishishev, Hayes, N'Gotty, Worley, Rowe-Turner, Garner, Odhiambo and Beswick (currently having a totally wasted season). Of our declared first choice squad of 30 I'd only want to retain 17 given the choice. As for additions: Goalkeeper, right-back, attacking midfielder, striker. Good ones.
Candidcamera Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 The centre back position will see to itself as Hobbs and Martin have already said that they are going back to Liverpool. Morrision should stay and will make it. I would like to see the youngsters including Porter retained. The competition in this league will let us try them out. I have the same position in mind as I had before we kicked off I think we need 2 forwards and I think we may have some to choose from in this league. If we were scoring half of the chances we make...

Bert Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 I love how you assume you're always right Jim bob.
Jimmy Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 I love how you assume you're always right Jim bob. do you really think, in an interview with the Liverpool website they would say "I don't want to go back to Liverpool"? they are young players, in Hobbs case highly rated and has already featured on occasions the Liverpool team, he would obviously be hopeful of making it there. Its not a case of thinking I'm right its simply that I don't think I've ever read an interview with a young player on loan somewhere that said he didn't want to return to his parent club, even if he didn't, he is hardly going to say something that would hinder their chances of progressing into the 1st team set up
Bert Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Don't doubt that for one minute, was talking generally.
Jimmy Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 everyone that posts on here generally thinks they are right, otherwise they wouldn't post they'd just read
Messi Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Apparently, Mattock is going Everton in january and he has agreed terms and that already
