dandannieldanok Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 You would have thought early leavers would have learnt their lesson from Arsehole v Spurs the other night . What amazed me was that quite a few people left seconds after Fryatt's first goal.
syston_fox Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Well he wasn't really that bad Excuse me? Comical - god help us if you ever become a professional referee if you thought that it wasnt that bad a performance from the referee!
Daggers Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Exactly those last 5 minutes were more than worthy of the ticket prices! I'd have paid an extra five pounds for my season ticket today
AmericanScott Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 What's Barry's life come to? Being molested by Milan dressed as Filbert. I was very happy with the result today. I had the girlfriend round so i could barely tune into the radio. When i did, i heard it was 0-1 and i got very nervous. And then i turn on Score and things got hot.
Daggers Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Do the Math people: Barry Hayles is bigger than Cheltenham Filbert is twice as big as Barry Hayles By my reckoning that makes Filbert the size of Derby and yet he appears so svelt. I need that diet.
lcfcsam1 Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 I wonder when the last game was when we werent given offside once?
Unabomber Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 I wonder when the last game was when we werent given offside once? I often sit at home wondering this too.
lcfcsam1 Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 I often sit at home wondering this too. well wonder no more, the flag didnt go against us once against rovers
JakeShingler Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Well he wasn't really that bad You would have said that. I often sit at home wondering this too.
Unabomber Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 well wonder no more, the flag didnt go against us once against rovers My mind is now at rest
Suffolk_fox Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 To be fair, listening to the radio we were unlucky not to have been ahead in the first half - we had tons of chances! It worries me though that we still struggle to convert set pieces and other chances..
Sods Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Get in there. Loved it. Kept saying we wernt out of it. Started to walk down during injury time so i could get out quicker. Then all hell broke loose! Got no clue how it went it but blimey. Matty Fryatt tonight youve made me a happy man. Pearson, well done fella great decisions today. Nicky Adams was everywhere, awesome display. Loved it.
Thracian Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 To be fair, listening to the radio we were unlucky not to have been ahead in the first half - we had tons of chances! It worries me though that we still struggle to convert set pieces and other chances.. Our set pieces were back to normal today - they were woeful. Dyer had a good one-v-one against their keeper but generally we had very few real chances although there were two strong penalty claims and the first one looked undeniable, as blatant a handball as you will see.

Hey there Thrac - More 1-on-1's going begging. That is a worry. We are providing lots of chances for our strikers, the conversion ratio is not great...

We are providing lots of chances for our strikers, the conversion ratio is not great... It wasn't a straight forward 1 on 1. Dyer got to the ball a milli-second before their keeper and it was much harder for him to score than for the keeper to save it.

Then again most people would of had a go at him for not shooting. Good save in the end.

Dont know what radio station you were listening to pal but after hacking our defenders off which clearly changed the game, Lescott had Dyer in his pocket until he was brutally taken out and his replacement, Jacobson. We ended up fielding 4 different left backs and a right back which told in the end and Kuffour's strike was worthy of winning any game. Personally, a draw would have been a fair result, but our injuries came from poor challenges, and even though we applauded ex gashead Barry Hayles when he came on, his blatant 2 elbows should have given him a straight red card! Most of your fans would agree today that you were very fortunate to get a win from a poor performance, and only our makeshift defence enabled you the win late in the game. Football as they say has the tendency to kick you in the teeth and today was a sure testament to that! Congrats for keeping Lambert from scoring, apart from his flick on to Kuffour for that possible contender for goal of the season.
MPH Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 One thing id like to add is on the performance of Ricky Lambert for Rovers . Thought he played the role of a target man to perfection today , movement was good and whenever the ball was knocked long to him more often than not the ball stuck to him . Sure he has had better games but defo a championsip standard player in my view . Good battle with Tunch swap lambert for Howard.

Reminded me of Sheffield Wednesday when they banged us 4-1 and every goal was simply awesome. I think you are right in stating that a draw would have been fair although whats fair does not always prevail. I am delighted that we managed to turn it around after the referee also missed a blantant handball by one of your players.
lildave3 Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 Brutally taken out. It was a cracking, fair, challenge.
Sods Posted 2 November 2008 Posted 2 November 2008 But didn't we have a couple of one on ones in the last game? Not at Brighton no.
