Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 I hate to be a killjoy... but it still seemed to take a goal against to get us going......
Orkneyfox Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 The radio commentary echoing round the house on full volume matched by the cheers when the second goal went in. Keeping on trying and not fading when behind, so much better than before.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 I hate to be a killjoy... but it still seemed to take a goal against to get us going...... I don't think so. When Oakley made his apprently "crunching" challenge, the crowd sounded pretty rejuvanated.
Fosse Boy Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 The Radio Leicester goal horn has rarely sounded so sweet...
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 I don't think so. When Oakley made his apprently "crunching" challenge, the crowd sounded pretty rejuvanated. no I meant the players!!! Adams actually seemed to get some good ball in as well, unlike poor Maxy
EnigmaticFox Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 I hate to be a killjoy... but it still seemed to take a goal against to get us going...... Errm... Well goals win matchs! It's a game of two halfs, Brian! The lad dun triffic! We're taking every game as it comes... and so on... If we score one goal, they will need two to win` Foobnalls a funy old game, I'm as thick as a parrot and over the moon
Salieri Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 It's amazing how your mood can change in 5 mins. All was doom and gloom thinking we have lost another game then we bag up twice and all is good. Aint that the truth! I felt sick at 0-1, another weekend ruined by the sad bastards...... Then, your favourite player ( ) pops up with a brace and now im off on the piss full of the joys!
Babylon Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Which is exactly why it shouldn't be all doom and gloom after one loss... Stop talking sense... we only want reactionary nonsense around here.
Father Ted Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Oh, how sweet it felt to win that game. The celebrations were amazing and no words can describe how I'm feeling right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ashley Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 It wasnt the greatest performance today however, we won. The Refferee was shocking. Great come back from the Lads.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 I have just checked the result after being in a meeting since 2pm. Oh my good fooking god!!!!How did we pull that off!!!????
Guest Bilo Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Just got back in and I think it was a deserved win. Two stonewall penalty appeals waved away as well as Rovers' penchant for play acting and timewasting meant conceding in the 94th minute was just desserts for the Gas. King was improved from last week, much more industrious and his distribution was far better. Mattock had a great game for me and Dyer was a constant threat. Also, Pearson's substitutions proved that, contrary to popular belief, he's capable of turning a game round. A real never-say-die attitude, possibly combined with one of defiance towards an atrocious referee, helped City pull this one off. All positive? No, Howard was ineffectual and the linkup between Hobbs and Gradel didn't work at all. We didn't close them down often enough in midfield ether and Oakley was largely anonymous. Nevertheless, a deserved (and gratefully accepted) three points. Let's hope that the revival starts here. PS Atmosphere, particularly in the last 10 minutes, was much better and the players did seem to be boosted by it. Applauded off the field they were, what is the world coming to?
Sparky Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Woefully short of any quality in any area of the pitch and were second best for big chunks of the game but we had to dig deep and show character and that we did . Bristol Rovers lost their heads after Hayles wasnt given a second yellow and we took advantage
Joe. Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 **** me, that's what it's all about! That finish was brilliant, never thought I'd be writing a post in a good mood tonight. First of all, I think it would have been very harsh for us to come away with nothing at all from the game, and I don't think we can feel too guilty about taking all three points off Bristol either. Second, well done Nigel Pearson. Substitutions were spot on today and they made such a difference; Adams and Hayles in particular were both fantastic up there for us. Thirdly, well done Matty Fryatt. Today must have been frustrating for him, he literally received no service at all until the last five minutes, and then stuck both of his only chances away. It's just great to see the resilience we had as a team today, and the fact that we've finally got a bit of luck.
purpleronnie Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Fab win, after the nightmare of the last match this definately is a pick me up.
lildave3 Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Fine, I admit it. Fryatt did well. There. Also, the ref was a cock.
Jack Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 What was todays attendance? 18,941 according to Sky Sports.
Simi Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 What a mental finish, L1 was absolutely crazy, got so crushed. Everyone celebrated through Chelsea Dagger as wel! Thought the Bristol fans were pretty good and there was some decent banter for most of the match. Didn't see their goal but apparently it was decent. Thought King was a lot better today, good range of passing. Gradel wasn't on it, he needs to stop trying to wait for the man and beat him, instead he should start running into the space. Great win for the squad after Brighton.
Webbo Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Even when we were losing I didn't think we were that bad(the crowd didn't get on the teams back either). I was really dreading coming on here and reading everyone slating the team. Fryatt had 2 chances and scored them both, so all his haters will have to wait another week before slagging him off again.
syston_fox Posted 1 November 2008 Posted 1 November 2008 Wasn't a great performance by any means. Stone wall penalty for the handball not given. Think the second shout was in the area too instead of on the edge. Great finish for Fryatt's first. Brilliant subs by Pearson. Hobbs and Gradel had a mare. King improved from his October performances. Referee - idiot. Hayles - still bloody big!
