Bristol Rovers Post Match

I think a draw was about fair, but I'm not complaining. We showed great character to come from behind and win, and it will be a great boost for the squad, especially after Brighton.

Good effective subs, changed the game. Mattock was outstanding and Fryatt ran his socks off and got what he deserved in the end. Cracking finish for his first, didn't really see the second. Thought it was Tunch.

Oh yeah, ref - TUWAAAAAAAAAAAAAT.

massive win this, goal celebrations were pure chaos and the atmosphere all around the ground seemed better.

Oh and the bloke next to me left on 83 minutes!

Well that went well...in the last 5 minutes.

Thank the lord for Matty Fryatt, dug us out of many holes this year.

I was also impressed with Oakley today, shown some grit and determination in the middle, what we need.

My win shits on your win today.

We got out of jail today.

Not the best of performances, but it's nice to win in the injury time for a change.

Great goal by Jo Kuffour. But Bristol Rovers got what they deserved with their silly time wasting.

Absolutely immense.

****ing immense. The atmosphere in the kop was a million times better than previous games this season. The players fed off the decent atmosphere and support. Most notably, after conceding, no booing...instead continued support for the lads.

Both goals were ecstacy. In between my dad and uncle, both 15 odd stone(+)...getting almost crushed but it was immense. Fantastic to win when we looked fcuked.

Well done Matty :scarf::) Hopefully that'll silence any doubters up :D

All jokes aside, I really don't understand why the lad's getting so much stick, to be honest. Why can't people just accept that he struggled in the Championship, but is living up to a fair track record at this level?

:dunno: Yes, we need another decent goalscorer in the squad, but that's ultimately not the lad's fault - he's doing what he's there to do, score goals.

He might have missed some sitters - but so did Iwan Roberts and we still love him!

Enjoyable day down the walkers.

Great banter with the Bristol fans, who I thought were good.

Jo Kuffour, take a bow son...what a goal!!

Matty Fryatt I thank you.

Gradel is cr@p. Nicky Adams for me next league game.

One thing id like to add is on the performance of Ricky Lambert for Rovers . Thought he played the role of a target man to perfection today , movement was good and whenever the ball was knocked long to him more often than not the ball stuck to him . Sure he has had better games but defo a championsip standard player in my view . Good battle with Tunch

Everyone seems to think we didn't play very well today. To be honest I'm suprised

we did find it hard to break them down but they had two shots that I can remember.

One was a stunner that went in and then the whole of there team went to celebrate!

That just shows their game plan I think!

Ref, well 2 stone wall penalties turned down.

Their goalie (tw*t)

Fans, brilliant (lifted by bad ref) didn't boo and made their players sh*t themselves.

Hobbs (****)

Hayles helped change the game.

Hendo. :worship:

Pearson made good subs.

Do not be mistaken we deserved this they almost lucked in on the back of a poor performance by them

The fans treatment of Hobbs alone pissed me off.

So what was so great about it? we were second best for most of the match, the subs were out of desperation more than tactical,Fyatts first was a decent strike I suppose but lets face it this is league 1 and he should be scoring for fun (which is just as well cuz the rest are doing feck all!) the second was a scrappy and very lucky goal and if it hadn't gone in then I doubt there would be all this adolation and praise..we scraped a win ffs! :dunno:

Feck me.....

Ref was a complete joke, like everyone says, 2 penalties that should have been, and would have completely changed the game.

Good to see Pearson making good substitutions, with plenty of time left.

Neither team was better than the other, draw would have been fair, but its great to see the last few minutes going our way for once.

Hobbs & Gradel.....useless, Gradels not looked on it since he's come back from injury, Adams was miles better than him when he came on.

The first half was a bit of a non-event, both teams cancelled eachother with no chances of not for either side. Thought we were better second half, the 'handball' decision seem to rile us up and we started to dominate and then all of sudden they take the lead out of nothing, it looked like a belter as well although he turned Tunchev too easily. Luckily the ref was a **** so the fans vented their anger at him rather then the team which meant the support was still there. Hayles could have been sent off, but after that he was good and Adams was much better than Gradel. Fryatt took his first goal really well and then showed good instinct for the winner.

Lets not pretend we were good, had we not equalized this thread would have been so different but hopefully the 3 points will recover the confidence that we had at the start of the season.

To be fair I agree, I'm not a huge fan but anyone who wears the shirt

should be given support on the pitch trying to perform, especially when their young.

Impressive character to come roaring back into the game so late on when normally it's the other way round with us being on the receiving end. It wasn't an impressive performance but I'll be delighted if that kind of game and result is repeated often. Hopefully that last 5 minutes will signify an upturn in form. This could be once of the most crucial results of our season.

4 goals in a week, that's fun to me.

Can't understand why some people are unhappy.

We are going to play lots more teams who play this way and try to defend with 10 men.

Like everyone told us this is a hard league to get out of.

If we start showing the spirit (fans and players alike) to come from 1-0 down to win that has got

to be a good thing.

And as my brother said to me winning games like that with that atmosphere and the late goal is

what going to the footie is all about.

Just got back to Northampton.

I thought today was a very positive match in various ways.

Firstly, can I just say, that I think the POSITIVE support from the crowd at the walkers today, was FANTASTIC.

I think it went a long way to helping us win.

After all this negative bullshit, which was never going to inspire the players.

The crowd, today, kept on singing throughout the game, even after going a goal down, and imo, it inspired the players.

(And pretty much the whole 'kop' standing for the last part of the game!)

Pearson recognised that Gradel wasn't having a good game (I mean, he didn't have a single good run, cross, anything... all poor today).

When Adams came on, we played MUCH better football.

Can't believe that people are still moaning that we had a poor game today.

It wasn't a poor game by any stretch of the imagination.

I don't know what anyone else was watching, but for long periods of time we had the best of the ball.

(If anything, their goal was against the play completely).

Ok, there were some poor passes, but there was also some much better football than our recent home games.

I would absolutely LOVE to see the Walkers a bit more upbeat like that week in, week out.

It really had a great effect, and it was brilliant to see the Rovers fans going home with tails between legs.

Well done Leicester, both the players and the fans today.
