Hendo 6 - No chance with the goal, glad to finally see him back in. Kicking much better than Martins.

Hobbs 5 - Poor, not a right back, solid in the air, but that's about it, shit passing.

Mattock 7.5 - Looked very good today, defended well, supported the attack well, put some dangerous balls in too.

Kisnorbo 6 - Dealt well with a tricky strikeforce.

Tunchev 7 - What a monster, class defender, proabably would've had a higher mark, but for giving Kuffour that bit of room for his goal.

Gradel 5.5 - Although he always looked to attack, it came to nothing, poor final delivery.

Dyer 6 - Tracked back very well today, which inadvertently, helped us to break away quick.

Oakley 6 - Sloppy at times, took the upper hand in the second half to try and drive us on.

King 6 - Again sloppy at times, but got well stuck in and tried to move us on quickly.

Fryatt 7.5 - Not just for his goals, but his endeavour, willingness to run and work for the team.

Howard 6 - Put himself about well, won a lot in the air, but was harshly treated by ref's yet again.

Hayles 7 - Changed the game. A similar yet different option to Howard, laid on the first for Fryatt.

Berner 6 - Gave us a bit more steel which was what we needed.

Adams 6 - Better deliveries than Max, crisp passing.

Well done to Nige for realising that things needed to be changed, not only were they changed, they were positive changes, which gave us a positive outcome on the game.

Henderson 6.5 - Not a great deal to do all game, just the one save to make which was dealt with well. No chance for the goal. Distribution and handling both sound.

Hobbs 5 - Awful first half; gave the ball away cheaply on at least three occassions. Not a right back clearly. For me he should either be playing in the centre or not at all.

Kisnorbo 7 - Defensively solid all game, and kept Lambert quiet throughout along with Tunchev.

Tunchev 7 - See Kisnorbo.

Mattock 7 - Possibly deserves a little higher, but wasn't as good second half. First half I'd say he was our best player, getting forward extremely well to support Dyer and most importantly performing his defensive duties very well.

Gradel 4 - And that's generous. Tackled every single time by the left back and his corners were nothing short of diabolical, every one going too deep out for a throw in or goal kick. Adams has got to come in now.

Oakley 8*- I've criticised him recently for not taking games by the scruff of the neck and not getting stuck in enough, but this was exactly what he did do all game long today. His tackling was brilliant, highlighted at the end by one immense tackle to give us acounter attack opportunity.

King 6 - Worked hard all game (you could tell he was ****ed at the end), and went about his business well enough.

Dyer 5.5 - Still can't cross the ball properly, and again missed another one on one (although this one was more difficult). Apart from that he was alright.

Howard 6 - A great big **** off to all of those who booed him when he went off - you're all bellends. Howard did nothing wrong today at all, and won his fair share of headers all game. What do you people expect when he's getting long balls lumped up to him?

Fryatt 7.5 - Frustrating game for him, no service all game but came up with the goods to score both goals with his only two chances. Well done Matty.

Hayles 7.5

Adams 7 Impact trio!

Henderson 7 - glad to have him back

Hobbs 5 - simply not a right back

Mattock 7 - impressed with him all round today, going forward and defensively

Kisnorbo 7 - solid

Tunchev 7 - solid, gave Lambert nothing

Gradel 5 - kept trying to his credit but nothing came off for him today

Dyer 5 - after a good September, seems to have faded

Oakley 6 - better than normal but still expecting more from him

King 5 - anonymous apart from one decent shot

Fryatt 8 - poor game but won the match for us

Howard 7 - seemed to win every header before he was subbed

Subs:

Hayles 6 - flicked the ball on for Fryatt's first but didn't do much else

Adams 7 - looked very lively when he came on

Berner 6 - quiet

Posted

Hendo - 7.5 - Cool as you like and dealt with everything he could. Was pushing his defence out all the time too. No chance with the goal.

Hobbs - 4 - he had a mare.

Tunchev - 7.5 - Solid and dealt well with Lambert and the tricky Kaffour

Kisnorbo - 7.5 - as above

Mattock - 6.5 - looking to get forward. Crossing wasn't great but contributed well.

Gradel - 5 - shadow of the player at the start of the season

King - 7.5 - Much better than previous games.

Oakley - 7 - always looking to push forward

Dyer - 6 - Could argue he missed a great chance at 1-0... bit off colour again.

Fryatt - 7.5 - Brilliant finish for his first. Poacher for the second.

Howard - 6.5 - won a few headers but nothing special

Subs

Adams - 7.5 - changed the game.

Hayles - 7.5 - Won his fair share of the ball and his flick for Fryatts goal was Brian Deane-esque

Barry was a genius!

Could easily have been sent off , missed an absolute sitter but what i will give him is that he made it hard work for the centre halfs and gave 100% , but lets keep our feet on the ground hey and stop throwing 8s around !!!

Ill take you for a bet that not 1 sunday paper gives him an 8 !!! lol

Hendo 10 - Finally... Pearson has seen the light!!!! The defence was so much more organised today because of him.

Hobbs 6 - Hoof every time but put an absolute crunching tackle in which was the start of fighting and aggression which made the celebrations so much better. had a much steadier game than last Saturday.

Kisnorbo 7 - Solid enough, won his headers, had nothing to do reallyu and combined with Tunchev had Lambert in his pocket.

Tunchev 8 - Pure class.

Mattock 7 - Got forward, whipped some crosses in. Defending was up to standard.

Gradel 5 - Really wasn't his day. When he ran at the full-back he would get tackled - when he didn't he would mess it up. Unlucky Maxi but it just wasn't your day. Also nice to see his crossing is improving.

Oakley 7 - Led by example today, got stuck in and spread the ball. Same next week Matty.

King 7 - See above.

Dyer 7 - The bright spark - he attacked and defended, lively.

Fryatt 8 - Why are people slagging him off? He's the 2nd highest goalscorer in the division... it also seems those slagging Fryatt off are the boo-boys - they should go and support Man U or Liverpool - we don't want you at OUR club. Fryatt got the goals that mattered today and that's the striker's job.

Howard 7 - Won most headers and played better than in recent weeks.

Hayles 6 - Got stuck in and showed a bit of strength up top.

Berner - Not on long enough.

Adams 7 - Really changed the game. Should definitely be a regular in the team.

Ref 1 - Go to specsavers!

Posted

Henderson 7 - Nice to have him back between the sticks.

Hobbs 5 - Nightmare. The less said about him today the better

The Tunch 7 - Good and solid. Kept Lambert at bay most of the game. Too good for this division. Should've closed Kuffour down quicker though.

Kisnorbo 7 - Solid as well. Won most his defensive headers as he always does and kept the Rovers attack to minimal

Mattock 7 - Impressed with him today, both defensively and offensively.

Grade 4 - Nightmare. Couldn't beat his man for love nor for money. And his corners were horrendous.

King 6.5 - Better than previous games. Worked his socks off, but sometimes gives away possession too easily. And he goes AWOL at times as well.

Oakley 6.5 - Same as King

Dyer 5 - Not his best of games, but always kept trying and the defenders were scared of him by doubling up on him.

Fryatt 7.5 - Got f-all service all day, but scored his two goals. And got his tally up to 13 this season. Always kept trying. One incident that stood out for me was when Rovers got the ball in their own box, and Fryatt didnt give up and nicked the ball of them but got fouled literally centimeters outside the pen box.

Howard 6 - Put himself about, won quite a lot of headers, but he's had better games.

Subs:

Adams 7 - Changed the game when he came on. And his corners were far better than Gradel's.

Hayles 6 - Nice assist to Fryatt's first goal. But I geniunly feared for him when he elbowed Bryan Anthony in the face

Berner 6 - Gave us more energy and went about his job nicely.

Hobbs should not play RB.

At CB, he's an good player and an asset to the team, but at RB he's a massive liability.

correct, not to make an excuse for him, but at times you could see Gradel was desperate for his full back to overlap him, which never happened once and wasn't likely too

Posted

Hendo - 7 - Glad to see him back, filled me with confidence and he did well.

Hobbs - 5 - Not a right back drop the ****er, can he not play a simple 5 yard pass?

Tunchev - 7 - excellent today, nothing beat him

Kisnorbo - 6 - Was average, disappeared at parts and got caught in possession a bit

Mattock - 6.5 - Great first half - and was average in the second half

Gradel - 4 - Corners poor, crossing poor, lost the ball everytime he tried a trick.

King - 6.5 Can't really say much did well

Oakley - 7 same

Dyer - 7 same as above

Fryatt - 7 if it wasn't for the goals would be 6, thought he was poor and out of it.

Howard - 7.5 - HOnestly my man on the match today - put 120% in, won 90% of his headers and was excellent. People who boo'd him today can feck off, and callers on the radio saying he was poor need to actually watch the game.

Subs - 7.5 made great impact and was good timing

Adams - 6.5 - poor to start off with, but looked good

Hayles - 7 - Made Fryatt's first goal - looked good

Berner - 6

Ref - 1 Bottled it. poor show.

Henderson: 7 (Thank God he's back. Steady as a rock and no chance with the goal. Fifth game without a defeat. Well done son).).

Hobbs 4 (Even managed to misdirect two of the simplest passes to Gradel and added no support or overlaps whatsoever. Why he got picked I've no idea)

Tunchev 6.5 (He or Kisnorbo gave Kuffour a free shot from 28 yards. I've no idea why but it could have cost us the match and, my life, they had precious little else to do).

Kisnorbo 6.5 (See above)

Mattock 6.5 (Much improved but still not as influential as I expect from full-backs although he had a hand in our first goal. Hopefully getting back to his best but still capable of a bit more going forward.).

Gradel 5 (Deserves five for never failing to try to make something happen. Unfortunately nothing worked or was going to work. I have a little symnpathy because he totally lacked support from behind but his substitution was justified)

King: 7.25 (Rarely put a foot wrong. Supplied Gradel with plenty of ball. Broke up attacks and launched new ones. As good as anyone on the day, apart from Fryatt).

Oakley: 6.5 (Back with King to give our midfield a look of solidity. Nothing spectacular but the fact that we won says something for his influence).

Dyer 6 (Not his best game. Had one decent one-on-one chance which he fluffed and offered a bit or hope at times but Bristol had done their homework).

Fryatt 8.5 (Fivc minutes before his first goal I was wondering what the hell he had contributed. But, that first effort was the finish of a natural marksman and the second that of a predator. Thirteen goals before Christmas is a massive achievement and, though I've criticised the bloke when he's offered little I'm delighted to celebrate and to appreciate a match-winning performance. He's paid to score goals and four in two matches is exceptional).

Howard 5 (Taken off and rightly so. Offered very little and in fact I thought our side looked far more threatening without him)

Subs

Adams: 7 (Had a hand in the second goal and generally looked as if he had a point to prove. Suddenly our side looked to have more options and to mean business).

Hayles: 6.5 (A hand in Fryatt's first goal and, like Adams, gave us new options that disrupted the previously comfortable Bristol defence).

Berner 4 (I don't want to talk about the bloke. He was bound to be an improvement on Hobbs but that's about it)

Pearson: 8 (Made his substitutions a little late for my liking but they certainly had an effect and I'm glad that, at long last, he's involving others in the squad even if Porter appears to have died or something equally horrible judging by his total lack of mention or involvement).

4. are you trying to take the piss or summet? Howard won 90% of his headers whilst he was being pushed in the back, yes his flick ons didnt go to anyone but thats because no one gambled!

I'll tell you know if it was Craig King or McKay or porter who played like howard today you would have given them 9

Henderson -6- Was solid but did nothing different to what Martin would have done in my opinion, also he hoofs every time he has the ball. But his return is the reason we won :crylaugh:

Hobbs -5- Confidence. Gone.

Tunchev -7- Solid.

Kisnorbo -7- Solid.

Mattock -7- Good game i thought, defended well and got forward at every opportunity.

Gradel -5- I'm starting to get frustrated by him now, he was up against Bristol Rovers 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice left back today and couldn't get past any of them. When he looks like he's past someone he lets them catch up.

King -6.5- Was better today, still lightweight though.

Oakley -6- Tried.

Dyer -7- The only midfielder that looks a threat with the ball at the moment.

Howard -6- Did ok but hes so eay to defend against.

Fryatt -8- Thought he looked dangerous whenever he got the ball but unfortunately he hardly got the ball.

Hayles-7- Was poor to start with but then burst into life, running down the channels and winning headers.

Adams -7- Much better than Gradel, good movement and likes to get the ball into the box early.

Posted

Henderson 7 - Communicated with defence and was pretty solid, never in a million years would he have saved the goal

Hobbs 5 - Slightly better than the last 2 performances, Gilbert still desperately needed though

Kisnorbo 5.5 - Kuffour ran him ragged at times, was a bit sloppy but didn't give too much away

Tunchev 6.5 - Ruffled a bit in the 2nd half by Lambert but largely comfortable

Mattock 5 - Gave the ball away too much for my liking, decent attacking intent though

Gradel 4 - His set pieces were shocking and failed to master either of the 3 left-backs he faced

Oakley 4 - With time and space he was ok, but when under pressure some of his passing was awful

King 6 - Better than anything he's served up recently, tidy passing although wasn't very authoritative

Dyer 6 - Needs to work on his crossing but was once again lively

Fryatt 7 - Lacked service but kept running and did his job by scoring the goals

Howard 6 - Won 75% of his headers but unfortunately none met their target, shortchanged by a crap ref a lot of the time

Adams 6 - Better delivery than the other two wingers but not great

Hayles 6 - Got an assist and put himself about

Berner N/A

Officials were horrendous and Bristol Rovers eventually got their reward for play-acting and timewasting with a last-minute goal against.

I think thats a little harsh on the defence, apart from Hobbs. Kuffour was lively and scored a belter but other than that I don't recall him getting anything and Lambert did nothing.
