Finnegan Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Pardon my ignorance, but where the fook is he? It dawned on me when we were a winger short against Yeovil that I don't think I've seen him all season, is he injured? I know he isn't amazing, but if he was good enough to get a fair run of games in the Championship then surely he's good enough to be in the squad pushing Adams, Gradel and Dyer for their places?
Koke Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 He's certainly good enough for this level, no question about that. Nobody really knows where he is, and it was the same with Elvis last season. Unfortunately, I think Levi is heading for the exit door in January, if not in the Summer.
Samilktray Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Seen him last week in town. Shopping. What a life he has, getting paid a decent wage to do fook all, thats the good life.
Finnegan Posted 18 November 2008 Author Posted 18 November 2008 Aye but Elvis was total toss, we knew why he wasn't in the side - he's shit. I don't think Levi is the Messiah, but he's certainly not a total waste of space.

Thracian Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 No-one seems to be asking and no-one seems to be saying anything. Not even knowitall. I've not pursued it but suppose someone should try to find out. He played well pre-season, made one 13-minute appearance against Stockport at home in the Cup, sat on the bench for Stockport away the following week and got 64 minutes against Tranmere, then seemed to disappear from sight, both literally at one stage and then metaphorically. While you might guess at what happened you wouldn't want to get it wrong in the current mood at the club. In fact, as an aside, I wonder if Lisa's been approached yet to strengthen the City legal team. Don't know how far she's got to go with her studies but she seems to have potential in abundance! Question is. Do the City scouts know it and would she fancy the workload?

Gradel and Adams weren't even in the squad for Yeovil. Levi has been told he'll get his chance, but as to when only NP knows.

Finnegan Posted 18 November 2008 Author Posted 18 November 2008 Gradel and Adams weren't even in the squad for Yeovil. That was sort of my point, really. He just dropped them but didn't replace them with an obvious choice. And is Jonny Hayes another one that's just vanished off the face of the Earth or is he playing on loan somewhere? Again, I'm not convinced he's a great player (or even as good as Porter) but he could put a cross in, was enthusiastic and energetic - this would have been a fantastic level to give him some good wing play and see whether or he developed. Gradel frustrates me, he seems to think he has to beat his man eight million times or he isn't doing his job, I love that we've started actively using wingers a little more but it'd be nice to see us use some of the other young lads hanging around and see what different options they bring (pardon me if I'm starting to sound Thracianesque.) I just never thought the two (Porter and Hayes) were actually that bad.
Milky Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Porter would be more than useful in this league. The only way i can see him even making the bench under Pearson is if Dyer got injured. Even then he'd probably play Berner or Mattock on the left wing.

Koke Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 I think Porter is the only player not to have played this season, and not gone out on loan either. I smell foul play.
Jimmy Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 I think Porter is the only player not to have played this season, and not gone out on loan either. I smell foul play. he played 1 game when Dyer started at left back because Mattock, Tunchev and Powell were all unavailable
Koke Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 he played 1 game when Dyer started at left back because Mattock, Tunchev and Powell were all unavailable Oh yes, I remember that. Wasn't he taken off in that game as well?
Jimmy Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 Oh yes, I remember that. Wasn't he taken off in that game as well? think he played about an hour, he actually played quite well
Finnegan Posted 18 November 2008 Author Posted 18 November 2008 They're not bad players no, but their attitudes sometimes are a problem, especially Hayes. Interesting, but fair play. Are we likely to see Pearson having a look at Hayes or is he likely to vanish out on loan again? I suppose not having an active reserve side really isn't helping either.

Simi Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 He came on as a sub today and played quite well apparently, he's just got to keep trying.
Thracian Posted 18 November 2008 Posted 18 November 2008 He came on as a sub today and played quite well apparently, he's just got to keep trying. Sub for the sodding reserves - what a treat for the lad! And that "playing well" bit doesn't auger well if pre-season is anything to go by.
