Kingy scores the winning goal - an indivudal opportunist effort from what I gather - against the league leaders to put up us top of the table away from home and gets the worst rating.

Even worse that the rating of two blokes who were subbed.

At least it's no surprise but I still have to laugh.

The two blokes who were subbed both took knocks - thats why they were subbed, not because they were crap.

In my opinion he was our worst player today.

Henderson 7.5 - Can't fault him for the goal, that was just shambolic defending. His overall play today was very good, and he's really looking like a safe pair of hands so far this season. Long may it continue.

Edworthy 6 - Steady performance, not a lot to fault at all. Gets forward when he can.

Morrison 8.5 - Pretty outstanding performance today if you ask me. He was at the heart of all our defending today, and rarely lost a header.

Tunchev 7.5 - Again, like his partner was impressive all game as usual.

Mattock 6 - I'm not sure whether it was him who was at fault for their goal by not clearing it when he should have done. Aside from this he was fairly average, but I think he's come on leaps and bounds so far this season.

Oakley 7 - Another captain's performance today, lead by example all the way.

Berner 8 - Was almost another centre back at times and did his job superbly in the middle all game. His best game in a city shirt.

King 6.5 - Gets a bit extra for his goal, but aside from this did very little.

Dyer 7.5 - Always a threat, he's such an asset to this team. Took his goal brilliantly.

Fryatt 7 - I thought he was good up top today. Worked hard and rarely wasted a pass when he chose to do so. Possibly should have scored himself but for superb goalkeeping.

DJ 5 - Sorry, but **** off. I wanted to see him start today to show us what he can do, but all he showed me was that he's possibly got the worst positional sense I've ever seen in a forward. Offside a ridiculous amount of times, he was never going to get near the goal with his shoddy runs. Worked hard though, I'll give him that.

If he hadn't of scored I would have rated him 5 or 6, but now he gets a 7 :P

Henderson -7 - One superb save first half, kicking wasn't good but it was very windy second half.

Edworthy -6- Didn't do too much wrong at all.

Tunchev -8- Immense.

Morrison -7- defensively good, excellent with the long throws.

Mattock -6- Not his best day but got forward whenever he could.

Oakley -6- Decent first half but was poor second.

King -6.5- Not at his best, but crucial goal.

Berner -7- Best I've seen him play.

Dyer -6.5- Was good first but hardly touched the ball second half.

Fryatt -6- Worked hard, linked up well first half but got no service second half.

Campbell -6- Caused problems but always offside and he was poor second half.

Powell -5- Was poor when he came on.

Hobbs - not on long enough for a rating but did ok.

Henderson - 7 - What he had to do he did with minimal fuss. No chance with the goal.

Edworthy - 7 - Solid.

Morrison - 7 - Played well, won most things.

Tunchev - 9 - What a genius, won almost everything, great performance.

Mattock - 7 Did well.

Oakley - 7 - Brilliant sometimes and then other times not so good.

King - 7 - I thought he was poor before his goal, could not pass at all, great finish though and won us the game. :D

Berner - 7 Solid. A few nice strong runs as well.

Dyer - 7.5 - First half excellent, 2nd half he faded a bit. Took his goal very nicely.

Fryatt - 6.5 - Worked hard and was decent on the ball.

DJ - 6.5 - Worked hard, did well on the ball, would have been a 7 if he wasn't offside so much. Although he wasn't offside for 1 of them.

Subs:

Powell - 6

Hobbs - 7

Gradel - N/A

Just fooking deal with it, Jesus, it's not exactly rare that someone plays shit but scores and everyone who went seems to have agreed that he was poor other than his goal.

Henderson: 7- Kept goal well, made an excellent save in the first half and commanded his area.

Edworthy: 6.5- Got forward quite well, unfortunate injury.

Morrison: 8- Absolutely brilliant. Won every header, tackled hard and didn't mess around, just got the ball away.

Tunchev: 8- Another fine performance from the Tunch. A rock at the back.

Mattock: 7- Did well.

Berner: 7.5- First half he was very good.

Oakley: 7- Led the team well, and was threatening when going forward.

King: 6- Sorry Thrac, I know he scored the winner, and it was a great finish, but he gave the ball away a lot and struggled to impose himself.

Dyer: 7.5- Threatened as usual, another composed finish as usual. A magnificent signing.

Fryatt: 7- Worked the channels well, should have had a penalty.

Campbell: 6- Offside too much, did make some good tackles though near the end.

Subs:

Hobbs: 7.5- Looked very strong.

Powell: 6.5- Did a job.

Gradel: 5- Not enough time to make a serious impact.

My stance hasn't changed one iota whether you swear at me or not.

If it were Fryatt who had a moderate game and scored a bloody good winner - in fact any sort of winner - the posters on here would have been all over it.

Things like: "Never at his best but did what was required."

"Won us the game, simple as..."

"Sixteenth goal of the season speaks for itself."

This club was an embarrassment last season partly because we never scored from midfield and never scored from the wings.

Kingy's got five now this from central midfield this season and he's third top scorer ahead even of notional main striker Steve Howard and way ahead of another striker, DJ, who had his golden opportunity and managed to fluff it from about 6 yards.

Not only has he got those goals but yet again he made something out of nothing again and it's high time he got some appreciation because the difference it made was two points that might be absolutely vital to us in going up.

Thracian, i'm a fan of King and think he's been better than Oakley this season, but he was poor today. Especially first half, just couldn't find our players with his passes.

Still, very good goal again and i'm certainly in love with him for that. :D

So often there is very little that separates the top teams on big days but when something does pal, it's priceless.

Yes, I'd agree with that. I like King, but today he had an off-day. He scored a very good goal, and for that he deserves praise.

I might be wrong but it seems to me that the people offering their ratings were at the game. I'm pretty sure that you weren't.

Despite what you think, I personally like Andy King, I love creative midfield players but today he was pap.

Yes he scored a goal which proved to be the winner but he did not win the game, they are two completely different things. It was his solitary moment of class and he was a disappointment otherwise. No one is calling for him to be dropped, they are calling it as they saw it. Unfortunately as a central midfielder you cannot rely on one moment of genius a game. You have to tackle, pass and run relentlessly and he fell short too much today.

If he could offer his own honest self assesment on here he would I am sure agree that he was below par. He would admit that he would have wanted to do better and I can guarantee that he would not compare himself to Martin Peters.

There's a huge difference in their roles though, Fryatt is there for goals to a much greater extent than King. King is a central midfielder and has such MUST be in the game. A striker is there to score goals and whether he does it by bossing the game or by popping up in the last minute is far less important than for a midfielder.

apart from the goal which was beautifully taken, this was King's worst game of the season - too weak in the tackle and passing was poor today

Henderson - 7. Solid again.

Edworthy - 7. Very composed, his experience will help those around him.

Tunchev - 7. Another class performance.

Morrison - 7. Impressed in defence and could have scored twice from setpieces.

Mattock - 6. Looked uncertain and isolated at times.

Oakley - 7. Ran the game in the first half but faded somewhat in the second.

Berner - 7. Gave the midfield extra steel and made some useful forward runs.

King - 7. Was having an absolute mare - until his goal. His resemblance to Gareth Williams gets stronger by the week.

Dyer - 7. Pace and mobility troubled the opposition all afternoon.

Fryatt - 8*. All-round play was better than in many games when he's scored. Even won a few challenges in the air.

Campbell - 6. Still looks rusty. Should look to Dyer for guidance on beating offside traps.

Powell - 6. A subdued performance, notable only for one awkward backpass.

Hobbs - 7. Provided extra defensive stability in closing stages.

Gradel - n/a

Edworthy - 7 Good cover for Gilbert, who ate this rate will struggle to get back in the team.

Tunchev - 8 Different class.

Morrison - 7

Mattock - 6 Not good yesterday, got beat too often.

Oakley - 7 Better, still only gives an hour at best though.

Berner - 7.5 Best performance since he has been here.

King - 7 What a finish, despite having a pretty average first half.

Dyer - 7 Scunny couldn't cope.

Fryatt - 8 Looks better without Howard next to him in my opinion, much better performance.

Campbell - 6 Was offside a few times too many, but once he regains full match fitness and sharpness, he will come good.

Thought Pearson was much better with his substitutions yesterday compared to other games, keep a winning team, do not change it for Tuesday.
