Mickey O'Neil Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Anyone know why he had his contract ended? I could Google it but I'm off into town now
dandannieldanok Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 They don't need him and I guess his wages are reasonably high for someone who simply doesn't play. They have Jaaskelainen obviously as first choice and Al-Habsi as cover for him.
Flynny Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Lets have him back for absolutely no reason, it'll be great. (see: Dickov)
maddog Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Ian Walker would be great for League 1 and the Championship. His wages would be too high though.
Darkzzz_ Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Ian Walker, I salute you. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NqR_qvC3O2M
The Stig Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 I'd be all for signing him as back up in this league.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 not sure why anyone wants him back here, he was ok in his prime but he's barely played football since he left us. I'd rather we just stuck with the two we've got. Walker may as well retire.
Samilktray Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Sign Ian up and get rid of Martin!
Libertine Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Wasted the last few years of his career. A fine keeper.
Matt Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 not sure why anyone wants him back here, he was ok in his prime but he's barely played football since he left us. I'd rather we just stuck with the two we've got. Walker may as well retire. Plenty of people were all for having Dickov back. I'd have Walker back (Over Dickov anyway) I reckon he would do a good job, Great even if it's just for back-up - Better than Martin anyday. And although I don't believe it if Henderson really is going... The only thing against him is his age, but thats never stopped us in the past, besides as a goalkeeper age isn't a huge deal.
The Stig Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Having said what I said earlier, his lack of games does worry me. I said it at the time and I'll say it again now I'm not sure Bolton was a good career move for him. I'd have gone for first team football in order to prolong my career. Each to their own though I suppose.
Durnerz Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Walker never got over his knee injury here. Otherwise a good goalkeeper, wouldn't have him back now.

J.Lisemore Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Sign Ian up and get rid of Martin! Im all for that
