Zingari Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Haven't spotted anyone point out that Wolves bid 900k for Fryatt 18 months ago. McCarthy obviously rated him then and this season will have only strengthened that opinion. yes and our situation is that much weakened it looks pretty bad to me
Guest ttfn Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Sorry, where has this story come from? I find it staggering that a rumour with no source has generated 50 replies!

JoeyB Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Sorry, where has this story come from? I find it staggering that a rumour with no source has generated 50 replies! Knowitall - he is a source who every time posts stuff is true. He told us about Powell before it happened. anyone on trial he lets us know, just look back through his topics.....
Alexikokopops Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Sorry, where has this story come from? I find it staggering that a rumour with no source has generated 50 replies! knowitall has proven in the past that he is a very reliable source. Pre-season tour Worley on loan Marc Edworthy Odihambo loan Verma trialist He also confirmed the Powell signing amongst others (I think in this thread)
Candidcamera Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Mark Davies good news and I would be surprised if Fyatt went to Wolves. More likely to be Mattock but he should stay on for more first team action at City. Perhaps this is only the first of many clubs to want Fryatt. If we want to keep him now is the time to offer him a new deal that he can't refuse.
step Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I wish someone would explain to me why we would want to sell Fryatt, cos there is no logic on this earth that could justify him leaving
AyewJoking Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Any idea what our response was? We want £500,000 and Steve Bull. Oops, Ive just dropped my pen, let me pull my pants down and bend over.
JoeyB Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I wish someone would explain to me why we would want to sell Fryatt, cos there is no logic on this earth that could justify him leaving We don't but if he don't sign a contact before the start of jan, he can listen to offers from other clubs with a view to signing in July.
potter3 Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 We don't but if he don't sign a contact before the start of jan, he can listen to offers from other clubs with a view to signing in July. Not domestically. He can't actually sign anything anyway.
JoeyB Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Not domestically. He can't actually sign anything anyway. I'm pretty sure he can start talking to other clubs or hearing what they are going to offer, but he can't sign anything.......
Kilworthfox Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I'm pretty sure he can start talking to other clubs or hearing what they are going to offer, but he can't sign anything....... From Jan 1st 2009, not before!
Tilley Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 HANDS OFF - Tunch, King, Dyer & Fryatt. Have Mattock.
The Bear Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 No you are not allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club from the same country.
The People's Hero Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 No you are not allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club from the same country. Are you actually a bear? If so, kudos for typing... must be difficult with those powerful paws/claws. Or are you using voice recognition software? If so, kudos for mastering the art of speech.

Lillehamring Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 the problem with this thread is that most people are assuming that because fryatt hasn't signed a new deal he WANTS to go. from what MM has said and what knowitall said 'fryatt loves it here', that doesn't make much sense. this rumour is only that wolves questioned a player's status, no one has made an offer - it's probably more along the lines of "hello, wolves here, what's happening with fryatt? well, just to let you know, if he doesn't sign for you we are interested" i'm sure it happens a million times. why don't you just wait and see what happens - the fact that people are getting so concerned that fryat hasn't signed is crazy, given his form, given the possible (very) different scenarios we are facing next year, of course there are going to be negotiation issues. personally, i still put my money on the stalling being due to clauses, not salary, fryatt will want an opt-out if we don't go up....etc.

"I knew he would go Wolves, I knew it", after they've only apparently enquired about him, is a ludicrous thing to say.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Well to me if a player rejects two contract offers then they probably want to leave, if he really loved it here he would have accepted the first offer. Rumours from the tabloids. Nothing concrete there to suggest he has rejected offers.
Samilktray Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Well to me if a player rejects two contract offers then they probably want to leave, if he really loved it here he would have accepted the first offer. Well no. Not if it wasnt good enough he wouldnt.
Munzie Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Well to me if a player rejects two contract offers then they probably want to leave, if he really loved it here he would have accepted the first offer. Players / Agents will always hold out for the best possible offer. If you were excelling at work (above all expectation) and were an integral part to the team, wouldn't you want to push for more money during your annual appraisal? Let's hope those around Fryatt (if he is the target) keep reiterating that he could go on to be the stand out player of league one, the league's top scorer, part of a promotion winning side and a fans favourite if he stays and continues his good form. I'm not convinced that a move to Wolves will do him any favours (as many of the recent posts have pointed out). Staying at Leicester will see him command a start in the first team week in week out and allow him to ply his trade in the Championship next season if things keep going well (please God!)
