The Stig Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 It could be Mattock............ Would be nice but I don't think so.
J.Lisemore Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 If we sell him we simply have no chance of going up unless we find a suitable replacement and actually spend some money
Dan Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 I would have to agree Wolves would be perfect when you think about it. Premiership in sight, close to home, money and players to offer us, it's just going to happen. And as for Bruno leaving... Is their subs bench comfy or something?
Daggers Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 He MAY or indeed may NOT go in the summer I love this forum.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Doesn't Sir Matty like it here? If so I'd hope a) Mandy tells Wolves to fook off and b) We'd offer Fryatt more than Wolves offer
maddog Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 I fooking knew he would go Wolves i knew it. Was talking about it at the Southend game, we all thought he will probably leave based on what hes saying in his interviews. And i rekoned he would go Wolves because its nearby, bigger wages, they look like they may get promoted to the Prem (at the moment) and Stearman is there. Its the obvious place to go for him. Lets face it could take us at least 3 more seasons in the Championship to get back to the Prem, assuming we go up to the championship this season, maybe more. Fryatt has a chance to move to a club who could be a Premiership club next season, or stay at a club who may be there in a couple of seasons, or may not get there for years and years. I know where i would go , Wolves im afraid. He may be on the bench, but he will be on the bench in the Premiership and will get a chance at somepoint. If he stays he may never get to the Premiership with us. And he may never be in this sort of form to get a Premiership move or a move to a team like Wolves top of the Championship. This could be his only chance of Premiership football, and i think he should take it.
Sods Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Fryatt's going isn't he. It feels kind of inevitable.Bollocks. This is also my view. If he goes, I will be very dissapointed with Milan. Unless it is a ridiculous fee. With him we have a real chance of promotion. Without Im not so confident.
SussexFox Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 This could be his only chance of Premiership football, and i think he should take it. surely a team on the way up to the prem would not want fryatt? He's nowhere near that good and also Wolves are scoring goals for fun atm why target Fryatt? Palace fan in my office reckons they want him especially as they are getting rid of Kuqi and also beattie has returned to WBA
Jack Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 Andy Keogh ? yes please. They have Iwelumo and Blake and if they sign Fryatt then he will be even further down the pecking order, he is much better than Fryatt and has proved he can score goals at this level and in the championship, unlike another striker we know, but I suppose you have all forgotten about that one.
Bert Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 They've only asked. If he goes, what can we do about it? Mandaric seemed pretty confident that he was going to sign. I highly doubt he'll leave in Janaury, we don't have to accept anything, and we have the cushion of knowing that if he does leave at the end of the season, then we're going to get a fee. With the season Fryatt's having, it'll be a tidy sum we get too.

act smiley Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 I'd rather take the goals and risk the tribunal than take a small amount now to be honest, I'd be suprised if anything that isn't significantly into seven figures would sway those in charge. If its barking up the wrong tree and a Mr.Tunchev is the player in question, again - I'd be thinking significantly into millions. We've got a good thing going at the minute and its an easy thing to make a hash of, as Leeds and Forest have shown recently. They have Iwelumo and Blake and if they sign Fryatt then he will be even further down the pecking order, he is much better than Fryatt and has proved he can score goals at this level and in the championship, unlike another striker we know, but I suppose you have all forgotten about that one. Cart before horse, etc. - right now getting back up matters, and Fryatt is good for that regardless of how bad the previous two seasons were (although his first six months were pretty good in the championship).

I agree with you, I'd get him to sign a new contract and flog him in the summer. He will be no use if we get promoted.
Bert Posted 11 December 2008 Posted 11 December 2008 It could be Mattock too btw guys. Most likely to be Fryatt though.
Maybes Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Wolves after Andy King perhaps? Scoring plenty of goals for a central midfield player.

Asha Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 I agree with you, I'd get him to sign a new contract and flog him in the summer. He will be no use if we get promoted. Sorry but I really don't agree with this. He's been in sensational form this year, and I'm confident he'd definately make a lot more an impact if we get promoted than he did last season. Saying he'd be 'no use' is actually pretty rediculous in my eyes. Give him a chance.
The Bear Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 It'll be either Fryatt or Dyer IMO. Possibly King as an outsider. We already have too many CBs and LBs so won't be Tunchev or Mattock. I'd hope it would be Dyer as we have no fit out-and-out wingers if Jarvis or Kightly get injured. I still haven't changed my mind on Fryatt, he'd be a waste of money for us in our current position. Keogh's going nowhere either. He's 3rd choice striker for us at the minute.

Keogh's going nowhere either. He's 3rd choice striker for us at the minute. Wolves won't sell Keogh, and if they wanted to sell him he could do better than 3rd tier football! Tunchev can not move until the end of the season because of the new transfer rules, as far as I am aware you can't move to 2 clubs in 1 season. This is most probably Fryatt, although he is not up to the job for where they are let alone where they want to be. Fryatt has a poor record with a poor Championship side. When fit he looked a Championship player, but not the goalscorer he is in this leauge at all. Possibly Mattock, but I thought there was Premier Interest, and if you remember Knowitall said he was off in Jan about a month ago, so it is probably not him. Could be Dyer, but IMO Wolves with their Premiership aspirations need better scouts, if they think Dyer is that good enough to even back up at that standard. The outsider could be King, it makes sense the more I think about it really. He is young and creative, and the snippets that people are seeing him in on the T.V are very impressive.
Monk Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 We're going to sadly have to break it to their scouts that Ian Ormondroyd retired several years ago and is not for sale.
dandannieldanok Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 £2 million + Mark Davies permanently? I'd take that, seems a good deal for us. If we have to sell players at this stage I see no reason why we have Mandaric owning the club - he's here because he's got some moolah isn't he! I agree to some extent, although I don't think cash is the only problem here, just the fact that clearly Fryatt thinks he can do better and simply won't sign.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 12 December 2008 Posted 12 December 2008 Haven't spotted anyone point out that Wolves bid 900k for Fryatt 18 months ago. McCarthy obviously rated him then and this season will have only strengthened that opinion.
