Berocca

These artificial things put in food are put there cos certain high powered people (who own the companies that make them) want us dead before we get to pension age. They don't want to look after us when we are old (hence old people freezing to death often etc). They just want us here while we are workers.

The best bet is eat natural. A 1cm cube of ginger after your tea can do wonders. Just look at a Lion for instance (or all animals that eat natural). They drink water only and eat all nature foods and they are fine specimens of strength and vitality. The only animals that are not fine specimens are humans (and animals that get fed crap by humans). And that's cos we get too much shite put in our feed.

I eat animals all the time, so who had the last laugh there?

Me.

I did.

Stupid animals.

Berrocca is considered good for hangovers...in truth its more liekly the extra fluids that help.

If you have sore joints (be kind to your knees, you'll mis them when there gone)...the best thing ever...

Flaxseed (organic where possible) ...has reduced my, painfull, post 5 a side, old man knees....to.... much less painfull, post 5 a side middle aged man knees.

Thank you flaxseed :appl:

I'm still swearing by Berocca - although my voice is croaky as hell today (no sign of a cold tho - well, not as yet anyway).

I also swear by orange juice (preferably 'with bits') :P and cranberry juice (preferably with vodka!)

I still find I'm fairly prone to colds though - but being surrounded by snotty, unhealthy, unhygienic kids all day doesn't help. Has anyone (cisono?) found that Echinacea actually works. I've tried it at various times but it never seems to make any difference.

And, ozleicester, I agree - flaxseed oil is great. :D I started taking this because cod liver oil messes my system up (seems I'm intolerant to most kinds of fish - I started getting really weird dizzy spells when I was taking cod liver oil). :S

Talking of common sense, how did you draw the conclusion about the lack of statistical link?

I didn't draw any conclusions. I said much of the research concludes that there is no statistical link. I can reference sources if you want but to be honest I can't be arsed right now.

In any case I'm too busy eating a preservative ridden pizza while drinking red wine that will probably lead to liver disease. After which I'll be smoking a cigarette that will probably take years off my life. All this after not having my recommended 8 hours sleep last night, not doing 30 minutes of brisk walking today and eating a godawful McDonalds this morning that right now is rotting my insides.

EDIT: I DID just have my Berocca though, so I'll probably be ok.

I don't like artificial sweeteners, but that's because they give me headaches, and often migraines. :(

I just drink OJ every day.

Tasty as fook and I'm rarely ill.

No, you just look ill sweetie.

I used to be forced by Stez to take Echinacea when I had frequent bouts of tonsillitis before I had them out. I think you have to take it for a couple of weeks and then have a break and then return to it for it to be of any use, I have found anyway.

Mrs NW: Berocca afficionado and fully paid-up member of the Yellow Wee Institute of North Dakota.

NW (me): Not convinced, instead ploughing on with 17 cups of coffee a day, no exercise and frequently no daylight.

I know you are joking, so I won't bother pointing out the obvious flaws in your reasoning. :giggle:

(Surprisingly though, many in this country do seem to think like that. No wonder they look much older than they are  )

I just put a Berocca tablet in my mouth WHOLE, unfizzed. I lasted about 2 seconds.

I saw it through once. I think it took me a few days to get rid of all the shit from my teeth after, also my tongue felt really sensitive for a bit (steady on).

Not recommended.

You're a true man to bear that pain. It's like the modern day ending to Braveheart.

I used to try to do that with my fizzy orange-flavoured calcium tablets when I was a kid.

My grandma used to say that was bad for me and would stop me from doing it.

Never quite worked out why it would be bad for me though...
