Ultra Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Martin Edworthy Hobbs Morrison Powell Adams/Gradel Davies Verma Porter Campbell Chambers Apart from the loan players, I see no point in risking many of the first team for this fixture. It's been obvious in recent games that some of the more senior squad members are in need of a break and this match gives an excellent opportunity for that, as well as for a run-out to some whose services we may need to call upon later in the campaign. In any case, Palace have their own reasons for not seeking a long cup run this year, so Wazzock might well bring up a similarly-weakened team, and the chance to compare ourselves against a decent Championship side may not arise.
RowlattsFox Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 I'm in two-minds regarding the team for this, obiously I don't want key players to pick up injuries but then I also want to see how our strongest side fairs against a decent Championship side. I'd probably rest Dyer and King, and bring in Gradel and Mattock, with Berner moving into midfield.
StanSP Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 I wouldn't rest Dyer. It'll be interesting to see how he plays against a Champ side. WE're obviously going to need him next year King could be rested. Berner can go CM as you say. But I'd bring Powell in at left back. Any news on Porter recently?? I'm not saying bring him back for the squad - just like to know what he's doing - injured? reserves? leaving in Jan??
lcfcsam1 Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Cisak Edworthy Rowe-Turner Morrison Mattock Gradel Verma Adams Dyer Campbell Sappleton
Maybes Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 CisakEdworthy Worley Morrison Mattock Gradel Verma Adams Dyer Campbell Sappleton Luton.
Fosse Boy Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Put out our strongest starting XI. I bloody love the Cup, we'll win it one day. Plus, I know a few Palace fans and they're all hideous gloaters so I really need us to progress to the fourth round!
Father Ted Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Cisak (perfect time to give him a go) Gilbert Morrison Hobbs MattockGradel Oakley Davies AdamsHoward Dickov Subs: Martin Berner King Dyer Fryatt I'd give Cisak a go in goal - what harms it going to do him? Play Mattock at left-back as oppose to Powell or Berner as Scannell would be too fast for those two. Give King and Dyer a rest - looks as if they really need it and move Oakley in to add some experience. Rest Fryatt aswell, especially with the injury he picked up. This is also considering Tunchev is still out...
lildave3 Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 I'd give Cisak a go in goal Hardly breaking news is it.
Father Ted Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Hardly breaking news is it. Seriously, I don't see why people are having a go at me because I want Cisak in goal instead of Martin. Remember back a couple of years ago when Logan made his debut because Hendo wasn't so good and that paid off and to be fair, it's similar circumstances here.
maddog Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 I rekon the team will be unchanged from Saturday apart from Fryatt for Dickov if Fryatts injured and possibly Hendo for Martin if hes back fit and Tunchev for Morrisson if hes back. I rekon NP will be going all out to win this one. this is the fa cup not the johnstones paint trophy. I rekon we will be promoted from league one regardless, even if we get injuries we have good enough cover and the transfer window is coming up if we are desperate for a player or 2. So just put the best possible team out, thats what im hoping for. Adams is the biggest ball watcher ever, id put him on the bench but certainly dont start him.
Ultra Posted 30 December 2008 Author Posted 30 December 2008 Luton. I thought Worley was back from Luton. Didn't Knowitall say that he and Porter were training with the academy squad?
Sods Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 No offence, but if we play the likes of Verma, Sappleton, Rowe Turner then that just shows a disgrace to those that have paid £15 for the game. Lets go for it, get a replay. Beat Warnock and his chums.

davieG Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 The only player I'd rest is King, he's played virtually, if not every minute of every game and for his own good probably needs it.
lildave3 Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Give Maxi a go. That's all I ask really. Although if Fryatt is struggling, don't risk him.
Ultra Posted 30 December 2008 Author Posted 30 December 2008 Actually King's scored three in the last four games and is probably in the best form he's been in all season. Which is perhaps as a good a reason as any why he should be rested, to protect him from whatever bunch of cloggers Wazzock may send out.

No it wouldn't Id love a game down in London on a tuesday night again. But then again, we might as well not compete next year just concentrate on the league.
Unit Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Martin Edworthy Hobbs Morrison Powell ronaldo Davies Verma Porter messi Chambers we're signing them on the 2nd.. read it on football rumours.com
Blue Foxes Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Martin Mattock Tunchev Hobbs Gilbert Gradel Davies Adams Oakley Dickov Howard If Tunchev isn't fit then play Morrison instead. Id like to see Gradel play on the left, to see if he can cut inside a few times and take a shot, like i think he was doing at bournemouth, and also if he beats a player once he might get some confidence back and start playing well like at the start of the season, there should be more space for him to run at players too as palace will be more attacking than other teams this season. I also think that Dyer and King should be given rests.
Bryn Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Much as a cup run would be good I think you do have to keep your first XI rested, and you have to keep the fringe players active, so I think a bit of rotation is the best option.
