StanSP Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Grolsch. I'm saving the Tyskie for Saturday's football.
StanSP Posted 19 January 2011 Posted 19 January 2011 Tyskie is over rated. Ssh. It satisfies my taste-buds!
Alexikokopops Posted 20 January 2011 Posted 20 January 2011 Tyskie is over rated. I've drank Tyskie in Poznan. I have lived the Fosse Boy dream.
Ozwin Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 I know this is going to sound really dim and something a 21 old person should know by now but I'll ask it anyway. You know how people say 'don't mix your drinks?' Well I've always thought that meant don't mix a Fosters with a WKD or something, but the other night I was drinking Fosters/Kronenberg/Becks etc and they were badgering at me for 'mixing my drinks.' I didn't have that much of a hangover the next day so I think I'm right here but I'd like to see what the general consensus is on this.

IMO the general rule is don't mix 'grape and grain' - in other words don't have a glass of red wine followed by a lager... it doesn't make for a happy combination. Switching from 'beers' to spirits generally isn't a good idea either. Personally I've found that going from one spirit to another isn't a problem, eg Vodka... Southern Comfort... Jack Daniels, but I know if I was to then have a bottle of lager or glass of wine, it'd floor me.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 6 April 2011 Posted 6 April 2011 Premium Filtered H20 it's brilliant in fairness i only ever drink water or an alcholoic beverage

Switching between wine / spirits / beer is what I'd class it as, and, in my experience, is what produces tremendous hang overs.

Switching from some beers to other beers does have an adverse affect in my opinion but only if your drinking in the sort of qualities that will give you a hangover any way.
ajthefox Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 Switching beers is not going to be the difference between you getting a hangover and not getting one. 90% of the time I'll pre-drink on beer but never have beer when I'm out and I regularly throw in a couple of shots of sambuca whilst my main drink for the night is probably a vodka and coke. mixing spirits can be risky but unless you're drinking hard stuff and in volume which is in any case giving you a hangover, the difference is minimal.

Ditto. I was always confused about 'mixing'. Usually do it every time I drink but I get worse hangovers from just drinking beer for a whole night. Cocktails as well, that's mixing and we had a party the other night and I got quite a mild hangover despite nailing about 12 different spirits.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 7 April 2011 Posted 7 April 2011 Drink at home all the time as i am a boring married old fat fart these days - on Brahma a Brazillian beer tonight, its only 4.3% but nice enough

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 11 April 2011 Posted 11 April 2011 I have a week off from work as it is the school holidays and the childcare costs are ****ing extortionate for a whole week for the 3 cherubs. As it is not a school night I have polished off 4 cans of Carlsberg and am on to some Fosters (8 cans for 6 quid in Tescos at the moment). I do not intend to drink all of them though. May leave a couple for tomorrow while the footy is on.
ajthefox Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 water straight from t' tap. Realised how bad my diet is at times so for the past few weeks been drinking a couple litres every day.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 April 2011 Posted 12 April 2011 Get on the Strawberry and Lime lived off the stuff in Norway and Finland amazing stuff I have mate, we're doing this stuff at my work now as well, post-work beverage of choice. Prefer it to the Kopparberg range I think, doesn't make me feel as bloated and tastes a bit sharper I reckon.
