Joe. Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 However much I want to see him come here permanently, I just can't see it happening.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Having read the McCarthy piece, looks like he's already in haggle mode. I predict a permenent deal mid-way through January. £200k.
Ivanhoe Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Davies won't be sold by Wolves. McCarthy will have him back at the end of February as our 7 point lead crumbles during January as we've now lost Mancienne who was holding our defence together. There is already pressure mounting from the fans for him to be recalled. Trouble with good loan players (as we also know) is you'd love to sign them but realistically have to accept they are there to play first team games to the benefit of their parent club.
Brainy Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 There is already pressure mounting from the fans for him to be recalled. Didn't Chelsea recall him though? I'm sure thats what I read anyway.

Bryn Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Tunchev to Wolves isn't that improbable if you ask me, he wants to play in the Premier League. If we got Davies and cash that wouldn't be terrrible, we don't really need money and he's gonna go sooner rather than later so we might as well get a good player in return... waiting til summer would make more sense though, unless we get this Ivanov, cause we need Tunchev to go up.

I could be wrong but hasn't it already been said that he couldn't sign for another club this season since he just signed for us this season?
Bryn Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 I could be wrong but hasn't it already been said that he couldn't sign for another club this season since he just signed for us this season? Oh right fair enough that's probably true, in that case nothing to fear.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Having read the McCarthy piece, looks like he's already in haggle mode. That's how I read it. Not sure if the fella from Brizzle City plays the same position as Davies, but maybe McCarthy is lining up a replacement As for saying that he wants to keep Davies, I'd say that to get more money off us.
act smiley Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 I could be wrong but hasn't it already been said that he couldn't sign for another club this season since he just signed for us this season? I thought the rule was a maximum of 2 permanent moves in 12 months? So as he'd been at CSKA a while, he could. As for McCarthy wanting to keep Davies, he probably sees him as a player worth keeping if they don't go up,but if they do I don't imagine him hanging around long.

I predict a permenent deal mid-way through January. £200k. would be nice to keep him just hope our scouts are busy . since hes been here weve done well .going to be hard to replace him i think 500k would do it
Alexikokopops Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 I could be wrong but hasn't it already been said that he couldn't sign for another club this season since he just signed for us this season? I thought the rule was that you could only play for two clubs on a permanent contract per season. So if he didn't play for CSKA in any proper matches then he could move to Wolves and play for them. Something along those lines anyway. I remember a player had moved to a club in the August transfer window (making it his second club) but then wanted to move in January and couldn't. I could be totally wrong though.

If he was your player and a Championship club came in for him how much would you want ?
pompey lad Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Now that is funny ! If he was your player and a Championship club came in for him how much would you want ? am i missing something what championship club wants him
Brainy Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 am i missing something what championship club wants him Im pretty sure he was the England captain at u19 level and is highly rated at Wolves. I doubt they'll settle for anything under £1m.
Ivanhoe Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Wolves are close to agreeing terms with Alan Gow from Rangers, fee already agreed. This will be good news for you as I think it will mean Davies will stop at Leicester until the end of January at least.

We've already agreed to loan him till the end of January I believe.
Ivanhoe Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 We've already agreed to loan him till the end of January I believe. Yeah but he could be recalled in 24 hours which would have been likely towards the end of the month. Now less likely.
CosbehFox Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Gow's a winger or striker. McCarthy's after O'Toole though - so we might get Davies for the season if that deal comes off.

Jonezy Posted 5 January 2009 Posted 5 January 2009 Wolves is linked with shitloads of midfielders at the moment... Good news..?
