Matt Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Foxes want to keep Davies-Pearson optimistic that Wolves defender will return. Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson is hoping to extend the loan of Wolves defender Mark Davies. The youngster has made six appearances for the Foxes since moving to the Walkers Stadium at the end of November. His initial month-long stint has expired, and Pearson was pleased with Davies' contribution during his loan spell. Pearson has discussed the matter with Wolves and is optimistic that he can agree an extension for the 20-year-old. "I am delighted with how he has done. I know he is a good player and I am delighted with his contribution," Pearson said. "I would want to keep him. We are looking at the situation and, hopefully, it will be resolved very shortly."
DB11 Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Knowitall said his last game would be against Palace so that would mean it hasn't expired yet
Simi Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Defender? Defensive midfielder would have taken to long to write.
Milky Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Defensive midfielder would have taken to long to write. I wouldn't even class him as that really.
Tommeh Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Dynamic Bastard as my mate at Leeds called him. He's been great we need him till the seasons end.
Bert Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Knowitall said his last game would be against Palace so that would mean it hasn't expired yet But, it does mean it's near to expiring. He's been great we need him till the seasons end. This. Then, we get promoted, and Wolves do too. He won't get first team football in the prem, he joins us.
Corky Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Go on Mick, you don't need him, we want him, we've given you Dickie Stears, let us have him
andyh1884 Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Wolves have injury & suspension problems in central midfield, might affect their willingness to extend the loan. I'd love it if we could get him till he end of the season but I'm not getting my hopes up.
The Bear Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 I think he'll definitely come back to us for our game against Preston on Jan 10th, as we'll be down to two CMs with David Jones suspended. Then again we do have forgotten man Darren Potter still with us, so who knows......If it were me I'd want him back challenging for a place in the team. I reckon the decision for you to get him back depends on whether we sign another CM in the window. There's been strong rumours of Watford's John-Joe O'Toole signing for us so you could get him back on loan with a 24-hr recall option for us. The omens are bad for you though, as Mick has stated he wants him here when he's fully fit: http://www.shropshirestar.com/2008/12/20/d...part-at-wolves/
Koke Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Get hold of John-Joe O'Toole - The boy is great and would bring more competition to the already quality midfield that you have.
The Bear Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Hmmmmmm..........I sense an ulterior motive in your enthusiasm for the Irish midget.
DB11 Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Hmmmmmm..........I sense an ulterior motive in your enthusiasm for the Irish midget. What? Like then we could sign Davies the beast?
The Bear Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 He's known as Mark 'WKD' Davies over here, due to sightings of him drinking and acting the big 'I am' in clubs around Birmingham/Wolvo.
DB11 Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 He's known as Mark 'WKD' Davies over here, due to sightings of him drinking and acting the big 'I am' in clubs around Birmingham/Wolvo. He is.
davieG Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 from Soho on Bentley's According to today's Mirror Wolves are set to pip Pompey to the signing of midfielder Marvin Elliott from Bristol City for £2 million. Could that mean there's a deal to be done with McCarthy for Davies?
Jay Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 I think the fact that even though it was an initial short term loan the fact that we were given permission to play him in the cup shows that he isn't really in McCarthys first team plans
The Bear Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Other than the fact he said he is? I think we just wanted him to get as many games as possible in a short period to prove his fitness.
Koke Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Hmmmmmm..........I sense an ulterior motive in your enthusiasm for the Irish midget. Nah. Honestly. I've raved about him on these boards for some time now. O'Toole is damn fine player, and what would I give to have such a player on our books.
Jimmy Posted 1 January 2009 Posted 1 January 2009 Other than the fact he said he is?I think we just wanted him to get as many games as possible in a short period to prove his fitness. at the expense of being able to use him yourself, I doubt it, you said it yourself the only reason you're likely to refuse and extension of the loan is because you have picked up injuries in midfield. And a manager is bound to say a player leaving on a 1 month loan is in his 1st team plans otherwise when he comes back you'll have 1 pissed off player to deal with + plus you run the risk of pissing off his mates in the team too
Steven Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Staying until the end of Jan according to the link. http://www.expressandstar.com/2009/01/02/m...ack-to-chelsea/
Unabomber Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Some Wolves fans seem to think there is a swap deal likely with Tunchev Not sure where they are getting this idea from.
Mark Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Nothing definite yet, and I see Berners goal is still going down as Mark Davies' - http://www.wolves.co.uk/page/News/0,,10307~1506691,00.html
Chairman of the Bored Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Glad he's staying (if confirmed). Room to discuss a long term deal now? Hope so.
