Fosse Boy Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 How many are Palliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssss bringing? I'll forge my estimate on the basis of that figure.
Thracian Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 I just can't think of anything we can gain from the FA Cup in our present circumstances except uinnecessary distraction. We know all about the fringe players who are likely to get any first team involvement and, except for a bit of fitness training, I'd doubt it would make the slightest difference to their prospects however they play against Palace. In fact some probably risk doing more harm than good. Take Gradel. He's been out of serious competitive match time for so long now that if he went out against Palace and looked rusty he'd only get pilloried even more than he does already. And if he scored a wondrous hat-trick I still doubt that he'd replace Oakley or Dyer so what has the lad to gain? His next big chance will be next close season, either with us or someone else, or just possible through a potential "recall" in the event of injury. Porter's situation looks similar but even worse and DJ has little incentive either. Were circumstances different, had Fryatt and Howard not been on top form and had Pearson's switching of Oakley not worked so well, the players I've mentioned might have flown their flags in Pearson's face. But that's not been the case. The first team is sorted. And with two or three new signings also likely in the "window" I cannot see any fringe player having much chance to help his cause tomorrow. So the fixture is just a pain, a hindrance and a risk. And at this moment I cannot muster an 'appeth of enthusiasm for buying a ticket or even listening on the radio. Perhaps that feeling will change in the morning... 15,500.
Joe. Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 I've been reliably informed to expect a crowd of around 12,000.
Simi Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Only Thracian could make a few paragraph's worth of writing about a guess.
Zingari Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Only Thracian could make a few paragraph's worth of writing about a guess. how long does it take him to pick his lottery numbers ?
Simi Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 how long does it take him to pick his lottery numbers ? He was rumoured to be the reason that it all broke down last week.
Bert Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Only Thracian could make a few paragraph's worth of writing about a guess. Only Thracian could turn a "guess the attendance" thread into a Levi porter debate.
Dan Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Today ticket office told me we had sold 13,000 tickets so far, I do not know if this includes away fans.
sbfox Posted 2 January 2009 Posted 2 January 2009 Palace sold 800 according to one of their fan sites where the following is from... Got this from the LCFC box office...."Thank you for your email. Crystal Palace have sold around 800 tickets for this fixture. There will defiantly be away tickets on sale tomorrow. Crystal Palace supporters will be able to purchase tickets at the turnstiles on a cash only basis" I'm gonna say 15,000 total.
