I reckon you'll get Davies on loan until the end of the season now. Probably the deal that has been rumoured the other day. As far as signing him permanently I think it's unlikely, even though his contract runs out in the summer.

We had a Fan's Forum thingy last night at Molineux and the Davies situation was asked about. Our CEO Jez Moxey gave this reply:

To James Fielden's enquiry about the Mark Davies situation, he said: "It hasn't changed. He has been injured for a very long time and it's best for him to be out playing and he is doing very well at Leicester City." Dave Bissell voiced concerns that he might leave when his contract ends but was told: "He has been here since 11 or 12 and we want him to be a Wolves player for a very long time."

I think it's very likely if we both get promoted, that he'll sign a new deal with us and maybe go back out on loan to you, as I can't see him getting many games in the Prem if he's not likely to get them now.

I agree it's likely we'll sign him til the end of the season (if we can? loan rules are confusing)

If his contract runs out in the summer and he hasn't been given a chance by McCarthy, we could offer him a three or four-year contract as a regular starter in the Championship by the looks of things. Wolves are going to have to be a bit sharp to keep him.

There is a difference between wanting to have him as a wolves player and him actually being a wolves player as he currently is. Is he a wolves fan? If not, the fact that his contract is up in the summer could prove very interesting!!

Hopefully he'd want to stay here. I imagine that quite a few will have noticed him the other day on TV if they didn't know about him already, and Championship clubs might come knocking..

My source, which i can't name, has said that Davies if we get promoted would be very keen to sign for us in the summer for a free or tribunal.

If we get promoted though, the lure of possible Prem appearances may convince him to re-sign.

And yes he is a Wolves fan.

Both these things together will sway him to sign with Wolves in my opinion. I'd like to think we can secure him until the end of the season now, and I think it would be benficial for all parties concerned.

At the end of this season though I'm not sure, my heart says he'll go back to Wolves and sign a deal. Whether or not we could snare him on loan again should we get promoted is another possibility too.

Stearman is a Leicester fan

I pretty sure his Dad is a Wolves fan and Stearman was born in Wolverhampton

Unlike Dicky, Davies must be a Wolves fan! Have you heard him speak?

I believe that from a Wolves perspective the fans would like to keep him in an ideal world, they obviously have alot of affection for him and to us LCFC fans it is obvious why. Leicester fans at present believe that the day starts and finishes when Davies wants it too, he is that insperational in this division.

The reality is however that Mark Davies is in control of the situation, as he is a free agent. Wolves will offer him a deal, he is under 24 so if they offer him a decent deal & he does not accept they are entitled to be paid as he has been at the club since he was 11. Tribunals are not overly expensive (ask Simon Jordan) so that will not put off Leicester if he continues his impressive form.

The problem for Leicester is that although we will be champions by April, other clubs will be sniffing around Davies before we are in a position to offer him exactly what he (presumably) wants which is more than likely, regular football at the higest level that he could play next year.

The Bear believe he would struggle to get into the side now so that is not positive for Davies if Wolves go up which is looking likely. McCarthy obviously has an issue with Davies and if I had too bet would state that he will leave Wolves, however Leicester is not his next guaranteed destination. We have an advantage of sorts that he is currently seeing what life is like at Filbert way which is (according to Knowitall) very good, and positive.

We'd have to pay for him anyway, seeing as he's under 24.

He's fairly pissed off with your club though, not playing him or giving a shit about him until he starts playing well and that

Yea, but judging by the way tribunals go these days it will probably be under a million quid which in my view would be a steal.

You mean us sending him out on loan to get fit and play some regular football after 2 years of injuries? Yeah terrible treatment.

It goes on considering Injuries, how many games you've played etc, so if your source comes up trumps and we get promoted, this could be the steal of the century.

we've already offered £300k for him but that's been outbid by Megson

I saw that, and to be honest I didn't know Bolton were in for him when I wrote that and however much he says he's liking it here, the lure of the Premiership that wants him and would playing him unlike those fooking nosey yam yams would be a no brainer for him really.
