Kilworthfox Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 This is the worst news I've heard all season Morrison will be good enough until Tunch returns with Berner as cover for Morrison. Maybe a short-term Edworthy/Powellesq. signing is needed. EDIT: Whoops, wrong thread, anyway, this is meant for the Tunch thread. A few have this opinion however all I have seen from return of the mack is a consistent ability to be a liability defensively. His concentration is poor, maybe he will improve but I can't see it. What am I missing from his performances?
CosbehFox Posted 15 January 2009 Posted 15 January 2009 I thought he looked the balls early on but then complete lost it at Orient and has struggled since. He's raw and learning - in the same sense McCarthy did but appears to have more potential than the likes of him. He has an opportunity now to stake a real claim and prove himself to be good enough to be a Championship winner. I think he always suffers from being under threat of being replaced at every opportunity. Like Berner 'deserved since Scunny may I add', he seems to be one of the first lads Pearson drags off. Nige has enough knowledge of the game to pull it off. I understand we had a meeting on the first day back from new year, all about getting geared for the second half and he's always insisted that the final 11 were just a part of the team. Morrison and Hobbs had to work early in the season and we're impressive against Stocky and Cheltenham earlier doors.

StanSP Posted 17 January 2009 Posted 17 January 2009 Someone on 606 is claiming that in today's Mercury, Pearson has agreed a deal to sign Kerrea Gilbert. If so, it's brilliant news. Can anyone shed any light on this??
Leicester Lass Posted 17 January 2009 Posted 17 January 2009 Someone on 606 is claiming that in today's Mercury, Pearson has agreed a deal to sign Kerrea Gilbert. If so, it's brilliant news. Can anyone shed any light on this?? No, this is the quote. The Foxes already have three players on loan from two of the “big four” Premier League giants.Liverpool pair David Martin and Jack Hobbs have been mainstays of the Foxes defence during City's push to climb out of the third tier at the first attempt. And Pearson also agreed a switch with Arsenal for loanee Kerrea Gilbert, who has played for England under-19s, and has established himself as the club's first-choice right-back. http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?b...6269754|p|536|0
Jay Posted 17 January 2009 Posted 17 January 2009 I think the mercury quote is being taken out of context what it's saying is that Pearson has taken players on loan from Premier League sides if you read it again it just says that he also agreed to deals for Martin Hobbs and Gilbert it's in the past tense and not about a permanent deal as I understand it
shen Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Clemence has another 8 months on the sidelines. That's very unfortunate... how come he's out for so long? Did he aggravate his injury somehow?
Bert Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 He must've done, right now, you know as much as i do.
Lovejoy Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Will he ever play again ? I don't mean that in a sarcastic way, but didn't someone say not so long ago that for his long term health, he may have to hang up his boots?
Daggers Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Clemence has another 8 months on the sidelines. Clemence will never play football for this club again.
Bert Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 I too think, the eventual outcome will end in Clem having to retire.
Jimmy Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 his contract is up at the end of the season correct? he'll probably retire then I know it probably means nothing but Bruno N'Gotty's profile has been removed, has he had his contract paid up but still being treated or is it a usual OS fook up

Shen is correct
JoeyB Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Can we not just kick out Clemence? Tbh all he has done in the last 18 months is be injured for the majority of it, i know its a bit harsh, but if we release him it will save some money on wages and possibly allowe us to bring in some one else.

If we release him we have to pay up his contract so we'll just be paying it in a lump sum rather than over the year (unless it's be mutual consent)

He'd have to agree to a termination of his contract, which I can't see him doing. The only way we could sack him is if he breaks club rules.
Flynny Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 If N'gotty's wages are covered by the insurance surely Clem's are too?

If he retires because of the injury, then I think insurance will cover most of it...
Lillehamring Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Clemence has another 8 months to live. jesus, i didn't realise his injury was so bad
Edmund Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 If N'gotty's wages are covered by the insurance surely Clem's are too? This.. All football clubs are insured on all there players. It works just like car insurance, the more injury prone the higher the premiums im guessing. Im sure Darren Anderton introduced into this country.
