Number 6 Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 Why do so many people hate succesful people? The unsuccessful ones aren't famous and therefore harder to hate?
Lovejoy Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 Why do so many people hate succesful people? English mentality , and imo a contributing factor to us never winning anything . Anyway I like Federer. The guy oozes class, and if I'd won what he's won, I'd be all over myself .
Number 6 Posted 27 January 2009 Posted 27 January 2009 I hate Murray but it certainly isn't of his success. People seem to equate hatred with jealousy, which is a little unfair I think.
Jordan Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 hahaha at Federer pretty much calling Djokovic a little baby. Good work by A-Rod to make it to the semis, where he gets to lose to Federer.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 28 January 2009 Author Posted 28 January 2009 Fed/Nadal final now surely. Doen't underestimate Verdasco, davis cup team mate of Nadal, is super fit and can cope well in this extreme heat and in great form

Milky Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Laura Robson is into the QF of the juniors. Hopefully she can add to the Wimbledon title
Simi Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 No post from Father Ted after Nole got knocked out?
Anish Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 No post from Father Ted after Nole got knocked out? Hardly surprising is it?
FilboFox Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 YEAH! :D Serena is in the final again!!! If she wins, she'll have won in Australia in '03, '05, '07 and '09. She sure likes odd numbers! GO SERENA GO!!!

joely22 Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 I want Fed to win it now and then break the record at the French and will then go down as the greatest.
Anish Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 Fed can't touch Nadal on clay. He and the others may as well not bother at the French. I'm hoping Nadal wins tomorrow and beats Federer in the final, because I can't bear to think about how smug and cocky Federer will be if he wins the title.

Nobody thought Fed could be beaten on grass/at Wimbledon either...
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 January 2009 Author Posted 30 January 2009 Doen't underestimate Verdasco, davis cup team mate of Nadal, is super fit and can cope well in this extreme heat and in great form His grabbed the first set in a tie break, playing very well
Number 6 Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Verdasco looking very good, no idea how he generates so much power.
StanSP Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Verdasco looking very good, no idea how he generates so much power. YOu should see Tsonga. Pretty sure he has more power. --- Come on Nadal!! Verdasco needs finishing off.
Number 6 Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 YOu should see Tsonga. Pretty sure he has more power.--- Come on Nadal!! Verdasco needs finishing off. I echo those sentiments. Come on Rafa! EDIT: the live odds on this match are fluctuating so much!
Number 6 Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 How does Nadal get so many of these shots back?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 January 2009 Author Posted 30 January 2009 Classic match well done to both players both desereved to go thru
Number 6 Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Classic match well done to both players both desereved to go thru Definitely, immense match, 95 winners from Verdasco, incredible! Vamos Rafa!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 January 2009 Author Posted 30 January 2009 Definitely, immense match, 95 winners from Verdasco, incredible!Vamos Rafa! Over 5 hours in that heat is incredible and both just kept playing unbelievable tennis, a real joy too watch
martyn Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 What a match, some absolutely unbelievable points and play from both players. Shame that Verdasco reverted to type and finished with a double fault as he was reknowned as a choker but still, he should be proud of that match. Hopefully Rafa to dismiss Smugerer in the final but sadly, i dont see him having enough left in the tank.
maddog Posted 30 January 2009 Posted 30 January 2009 Cant believe some of you saying come on Rafa Ive seen Verdasco play at the Nottingham Open last year, think he beat Simon there and thought he looked very dangerous but too inconsistent. Now hes got that consistentcy and belief this tounament. He was a bit lucky to beat Murray but i think deserved a place in the final. A grand slam finalist in the future i think, winner may be going a bit too far Possibly Murray is the same, unless the top players get injured. Hoping Safina and Fed will win the finals
