Orkneyfox Posted 21 September 2009 Posted 21 September 2009 Given the rarity of my visits to the Walkers Stadium I am not at much risk of meeting any of you but if any of you are intending to visit the islands of Scotland, specifically Orkney, on your holidays then please pm me and I'll take you out and buy you some local beer (Dark island and Skullsplitter) and a dram of Highland Park or Scapa malt.

Legendary name for a beer.
Orkneyfox Posted 22 September 2009 Posted 22 September 2009 CAMRA Supreme Champion Winter Beer of Britan 2001 Named after Thorfin Hausakliuuf, the seventh earl of Orkney, this reddish coloured ale has an intense vinous nose, is rich and satiny in the mouth with a long dry finish and deep rich fruity notes. Described as 'Satiny smooth in the mouth, deceptively light and dangerously drinkable'. SKULLSPLITTER is great with chicken or fish dishes, curries and would you believe - Chocolate. 330ml x 24 8.5% abv Just one or two a night is advisable, there were moves earlier this year by the Portman Group to ban the name because of alleged aggresive connotations!
