Flynny Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Got my house (flat) for next year sorted today, and since I'm going pale having to write the postdated cheques here and now (ouch) I thought I'd offset that by basking in its usefulness again. 90 seconds from my department building, two doors down from a scream pub. Happy days. Also 335 bastard pounds a bastard month.

Happy days. Also 335 bastard pounds a bastard month. I'm paying 338, got a well nice house lined up though, am so impressed with it. Can't wait to move in. Got it sorted nice and early, put the deposit (£390!) down in December. Glad I did as well - so many people running around stressed now trying to get sorted.
BoneDog Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 I've got a nice bungalow £470 a month. No stairs to fall down. I go in the loft now and then though if I'm feeling sentimental and missing having a double-decker. I sit on my deck-chair up there with a bottle of snowball and a fried egg sandwich
Monk Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Viewing places to move to right now. One beds in London don't come cheap! Currently looking to pay something between £900-1200 per month to get a nice place. Ouch. But when my girlfriend gets her Visa and a job in about June we'll be splitting that.

Flynny Posted 4 February 2009 Author Posted 4 February 2009 Thats a steal assuming the place isn't a shit hole. It's still 4k a year before bills when my loan/grant is about 6. Also we found a ridiculously amazing cheap place last week and got beat to it, so this feels much more expensive by comparison. I'll have to get a job or something.

cisono Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Suddenly glad I don't have to rent (in spite of the reroofing costs )
Flynny Posted 4 February 2009 Author Posted 4 February 2009 I take it you are a student thats renting? Yep.
Monk Posted 4 February 2009 Posted 4 February 2009 Jesus Christ, is that before bills? Yep... hoping for the lower end of that scale though. Viewing some more tonight.
Monk Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Just had my offer for a Warehouse conversion apartment accepted. Quite amazing as I offered £100 a less than the asking price and asked them to furnish it as well!! Drinks at mine before Millwall then? I'm going to be down in Docklands not too far away. Absolutely over the moon that I get to move away from the cows in my flat and finally have a place just me and my gf. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!

No fun sharing with people after a row.
Daggers Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Nice one, glad you got somewhere sorted. No fun sharing with people after a row. I wish my wife and kids would find somewhere else to live between 3am and 8am so that I could get some bloody sleep.
Monk Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Link?!Good stuff mate, where is it? What rent are you paying? My new place It's at Royal Victoria Dock, next door to the Excel Centre. Got it for £275 furnished, which is bloody good. It's HUGE! So I am paying all the rent initially but when my gf gets a job she will be paying about 400-500.
LeeCovFox Posted 5 February 2009 Posted 5 February 2009 Is the £335 just your own share of the rent Flynny? I'm in a nice 5 bed terrace house which only costs me £230 a month without bills. I have to work weekends in order to have any kind of social life or to see my girlfriend, which means no City games for me so long as that situation continues, but in student terms I do end up fairly well off. Well worth getting a job as a student.
