Im a proud Englishman and will never stop dreaming that during my lifetime we will go on and win something. Pretty much the same with me. I love Leicester as much as I love England.

I went to the World cup in 2006 and travelled with England to the Andorra game in Barcelona and its a real buzz, im sure Hullfox would agree with him being a regular traveller. The banter between rival clubs fans is a real giggle and id urge you to do it as soon as funds allow it , once you go you will be hooked. Do you sort it all yourself or do you book on one of the trips that some companies organise? It's something that's always tempted me but never really looked into fully.

Did it all myself , Flights cost me and the Missus around £80 each and just stopped in a picturesque village about an hour from Frankfurt . Watched 2 England games on the big screens in the fan parks and got some cracking seats in Kaiserslauten for Australia vs Japan , the Germans really took to us, real genuinlly nice people. The 9 day trip cost me less than a weeks holiday abroad

Guest Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 It's not that I don't care about England, I still support them but much less enthusiastically than I used to. I used to say that I could only spare so much disappointment and I used it all up watching City, but honsetly I've always felt a closer affinity to City than I ever think I could to my national team.

That could potentially be a great night out. I'm unfamiliar with the process of buying England tickets though. Last time I went to watch England against Czech Republic it was bought buy someone we knew.

The whole experience is magical for me. Even though it was a friendly, my favourite game was the one against Argentina in Switzerland where we scored twice in the last few minutes. We've met some great people on the trips and very few nobheads. In the main, whether people support Man U, Chelsea or Brentford, they seem pretty sound to me.

A lot more is paid to players by sponsors like Nationwide for personal appearances in their own time. Players picking and choosing which games they want to play I don't think that this actually happens under Capello as all injured players still have to turn up at the team hotel regardless. Players not interested in representing their country and do it purely to raise their income streams Maybe it's me and the way I feel about my country but I can't see anybody not wanting to play for their country and do it thinking solely of money Players pissed on the job with a were here to piss about and have fun attitude I've not witnessed this for many years. However, it's definitely worth some mention and discussion. It seemed to me that there was a bit of a surge in support for and identification with the national team during those Wembley interregnum years with "England on Tour." I guarantee you that this trend will be reversed temporarily if England are chosen to host either the '18 or '22 World Cup.

What is the current percentage of English players in the Premiership and therfore playing the level of football necesary to develop their skills up to prolonged international level? It's not just football though, there's no pride in anything to do with this country, and the gov't have a large proportion of the blame at their door as any patriotism is quashed . Like it was at the Olympics last year? Or during the 2006 World Cup? Many folk want England to do well. But 40+ years of continual fcukups have left many wondering whether we'll EVER win another major honour. In recent months Capello showed signs of building a decent team. However, his continued indulgence of David Beckham (and therefore his entourage) is putting that at risk. Beckham represents the past, and a not particularly glorious one at that. Is it any wonder that the hype that surrounds him may put off folk from following the team?

Got dropped and people thought his international career was over, but has fought back and equalled records, and shows more passion for the team than anyone else seems to. Its a great laugh, not been to too many away games, but what I have been to, they've been a good laugh! From leaving the airport at a ridiculous hour, lack of sleep, the atmosphere around the city, new ground. Cracking! Germany was the best for me, 2-1 in their own back yard, even though it was only a friendly.

I think a lot of people dislike what happens to the country when England play in a major tournament, all the white van 'ingerland' rubbish, plus how the press react to a win 'now we'll win the world cup' then when we lose 'the players (but usually the manager) are a disgrace'. The constant belief that we have the best players in the world even when we don't even qualify. And it does look like some England players would rather spend their time sunning themselves on a beach somewhere rather than play for England where other countries players look like they would die on the field for their country. I just wished the fans and the press would just relax a little, but we love football so much in England that when the national side play we can't help but get completely hyped up. Which makes the fall so much harder. And some like me can't handle it to often.

Personally I think people have become a bit disillusioned with the national team in recent times because we're finally showing that we're not actually as good as media and fans alike have hyped us up to be. There's plenty of us who find the FA's work a complete shambles (me included), but this shouldn't stop us supporting the team. I do find it ridiculous how players get caps for one minute of action, but this isn't the English team's fault. Neither is it their fault they get paid obscene amounts to do what most of us would give anything for. By not being in Euro 2008 we've not seen England play in an important competition since 2006, and that ended badly. It was a similar situation in 2002 in Japan/Korea, and thus we haven't really seen an England team live up to expectations for a long time. But however much we may have failed recently, however much we think the FA are complete and utter cocks and however bitter we feel about the state of modern football it should be no reason not to support our national side.

I go to quite alot of England games there's something different about International games to Club games the atmosphere is amazing if any you have witnessed it(I think you'll agree). The Atmosphere and the sense of togetherness of the England fans is good, Anyone who hasnt witnessed an England game yet I recommend you try and get Tickets for one game, England games aboard are even better. I am not saying I hate the players and I want them to fail because I don't, I just hate the media and the way they have built the national team up to fail over the years. The laughable part is the fans have been dragged a long for the ride and they have believed the hype along the way. The first time (It is certainly the last time) I went to see England play I really hated being there, The fans near me were not interested in the football at all, they kept singing these "German Bomber" songs and I just thought to myself what a bunch of wankers. They more than likely know nothing about football and they sing about "Two world wars and one world cup" like they have achieved something. Let's be honest war has fook all to do with football and Germany (who I respect a lot in International football) have pissed all over England in recent years. I must stress this is not a personal attack on the players and I hope for themselves they can achieve success at this level, It is a attack on our ridiculous media and small proportion of mindless England fans. The real fans do deserve success and there are a few honest, knowledgeable England fans who I respect.
