mmarkie Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 I see three trialists played inthe reserve game today, and a goalie, could that be Mark Bunn just to give him a bit of a game before tomorrow and also a striker which is good to see and another centre mid. Speculate!
mmarkie Posted 16 February 2009 Author Posted 16 February 2009 Ha Ha he's already done his job for today,Mark Bunn signing (although that hasn't gone throught yet), but what does everybody feel about a striker hopefully cover for Bigman Steve.
davieG Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 A Leicester City XI went down 2-1 to an English Universities XI in a training game at the Belvoir Drive training ground on Monday afternoon. The Foxes side contained the likes of Jonny Hayes, Ricky Sappleton and Levi Porter as well as a number of trialists. Latahnial Rowe-Turner grabbed City's only goal on the day. City: Ambrusics (Trialist), O'Neill, Bolger, Rowe-Turner, Cobb, Hayes, Verma, Trialist (Burns), Porter (C King), Sappleton (Kee), Trialist (McKay).

I bet the uni lads were laughing there bollocks off how poor we were!
Edmund Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 English Universities XI Is this team made up of the best players from of all the uni footy teams or just from Leicester universities?
Joe. Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 English Universities XIIs this team made up of the best players from of all the uni footy teams or just from Leicester universities? I'd imagine it would be all the uni football teams given the name, but I'm probably wrong.
Edmund Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 I'd imagine it would be all the uni football teams given the name, but I'm probably wrong. If it was surely this would be there cup final. Could be a keeper from durham uni traveling all the way down to sit on the bench. I mean how does it work on a geographical basis or more than likely im guessing it's a one off.

Like I text in the phone-in Ambrusics is a Hungarian youth player, not a trialist, and yes I got this info from Football Manager 2009 which led to Birch calling me a genius and Stringer pissing himself.

What? It says Ambrusics was replaced by a triallist.

Scow Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Oh Dear! What a side!I bet the uni lads were laughing there bollocks off how poor we were! They probably laughed so much that they allowed Rowe-Turner to score out of pity.

It's a team which plays across the World and plays in tournaments such as Student Games and Student World Cup. Probably training in the area. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BUSA_Football_League http://www.bucs.org.uk/news.asp?itemid=228...=News+from+BUCS

CosbehFox Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Oh right fairplay it says they have 3 regional squads. I think that's down to cost and travelling. We probs played the Midlands side, eventually they do have a full British Uni XI who play abroad. Infact, scrub that. Look at this - http://www.bucs.org.uk/news.asp?itemid=266...=News+from+BUCS Probably we due to play at Loughborough Uni against RAF but the RAF pulled out.....
Dan Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 What? It says Ambrusics was replaced by a triallist. It does actually , but either way Birch said that Ambrusics was a trialist in the phone in did any of you hear him say that?

Bet they were loving the win even though it was against the reserves, some of those players have played full time pro competitive football. Like I said I bet it was like a cup final to them.
The People's Hero Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Oh Dear! What a side!I bet the uni lads were laughing there bollocks off how poor we were! Bloody upper class, Blur-loving, shandy pants, the lot of 'em.
