Pancake Day

Recommended Posts

Posted

Can't wait until tomorrow, in my flat Pancake Day is today.

The men have been allocated the task of the pancakes, the women are in charge of fillings.

I got an A* in GCSE Food Technology, the bulk of which was a project on pancakes. I'm a f**king qualified pancake maker. Ridiculous.

Fillings:

Bacon with maple syrup (the best)

Banana with chocolate sauce

Ice cream

Lemon/lime and sugar

Just syrup

My housemates all find it weird that I like jam on my pancakes. As a result they now assume that everyone from Leicestershire also puts jam on their pancakes too.

I'm a fan of just sugar on my pancake's.

Same. And lots of it. I have a VERY sweet tooth.

I find it amazing that pancake batter is also Yorkshire pudding mix. One rises, one stays flat. They don't even TASTE alike, yet they use exactly the same ingredients. I would embrace a Shrove Yorkshire Pudding Day each year where people fill their puddings with elaborate meat & condiments.

They also use the same incredients as a turd full of pancake batter. It's what you do with it that counts!

Doesn't one use self raising flour the other plain? I may be wrong though.

No necessarily, it's the fact that ones cooked in the oven (slower heat so rises) and the other is cooked in a pan!!!

Been giving this some thought and I reckon cheese could be worth a go.

Cheese seems to go with anything so i think you could be right...
